DYK for John L. Stevens
The article might make a nice replacement but the lead has an issue, the firstline definition is not supposed to repeat the title itself because it doesn't help in explaining things. It's like saying "A television guide is a guide to television programmes." You need to alter the wording of the definition to hash this out. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the subject to help. Sorry. - Mgm|(talk) 01:30, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. I'll fix it up. It was just a quick hack with no editing or review. —Noah 01:43, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Vandals
4chan is today's featured article (see Main Page). They didn't take kindly to it, but it is nothing we can't handle. :) Prodego talk 06:25, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Ha! That is funny... I visited 4chan tonight (after reading the front page) as sort of the reverse of that effect. Maybe I should vandalize 4chan by putting some useful and well-cited information there. :-) —Noah 06:27, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Account Creation interface
You did not make a confirmation edit to match your Wikipedia account with the request to access the tool. Was it you that requested access? - Rjd0060 (talk) 20:38, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, that was me... little slow reading the directions. —Noah 20:40, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hehe - Disregard the previous. Please review WP:ACC/G prior to acting on any requests. If you have any questions feel free to ask me or ask on IRC in #wikipedia-en-accounts connect. You should be able to log in now. - Rjd0060 (talk) 20:40, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Alright, looks good! Go ahead and subst it in. Cheers, FastLizard4 (Talk•Index•Sign) 03:06, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for reverting that nasty piece of vandalism from my talk page. I was away for the last two days, and would have only removed it today if it wasn't for you. Gail (talk) 12:36, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- You are very welcome, few things more annoying than rude comments on your talk page. —Noah 17:13, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank You...

Orphaned non-free media (File:Contemporary logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:Contemporary logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:13, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Potash
Hello. I noticed that you removed the link to potashinvestingnews.com on the potash page saying it was spam. I work for the company that publishes the site and we did not put it up there. We were happy when we saw it there, but thought it was in the wrong spot and should have been listed as an external link. I think we would be violating the guidelines by putting it there ourselves. Can you put it in the right place? Thanks. Mikerodger (talk) 01:12, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Mike
- Hi Mike, it is very tempting for those of us in business to find a place on Wikipedia where one can put links to one's business. However, the goal of Wikipedia is to build a world-class encyclopedia; Wikipedia's is not an appropriate place for marketing activities. If there were an encyclopedic article on Potash investing it might make sense to add a link to your site... but otherwise I don't see why it would aid the encyclopedia by adding a link anywhere else. There are many better places on the internet other than Wikipedia to advertise your business, especially since Wikipedia uses "no follow" URLs. This is just my opinion of course... since every user of Wikipedia is a potential editor you are welcome to come to a different conclusion. Cheers and good luck in the potash business, —Noah 19:01, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Fred M. Levin
I noticed you once edited a page (excuse me if it was just a bot) of a psychotherapist. But perhaps you would care to opine on http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Fred_M._Levin_(2nd_nomination) all the best, Mwalla (talk) 21:21, 24 February 2009 (UTC)mwalla
- Hi Mwalla... I certainly may have edited a psychotherapist's page... but I'm know nothing about Mr Levin so I will hang out on the sidelines. —Noah 22:43, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion: Epsilon Worldwide
I have not had alot of time this semester to write anythign about the wikia. I've had an extremely crazy semester so please don't delete the wikia content just yet.
I think I answered your question about Section 7a here: http://epsilonworldwide.wikia.com/wiki/Epsilon_Worldwide
If that's not what you were looking for, then please e-mail me, since I did not recieve a message that you messaged me before. Email me at Asgaroth@live.com
I'm more than willing to explain the situation, or whatever. Just give me some time to talk to you please.
AsgarothXc (talk) 14:47, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Huh? You sure you got the right person? I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. —Noah 16:56, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I figured it out. Looks like it has been dealt with. —Noah 15:52, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Dook Case
Hi Noah. DukeEgr93 has already presented his case at this page. Can you please present your case too? Thank you! BejinhanTalk 02:10, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. A little reminder again. It's your turn to speak at the mediation cabal. BejinhanTalk 03:17, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- FWIW, I did speak after your first request. But perhaps it was a little too subtle... I have fixed that now. —Noah 16:15, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- My apologies. It was my mistake. BejinhanTalk 02:53, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- No worries... thanks for driving the mediation process. —Noah 04:19, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Dook
What is the reason you think that the term Dook referring to Duke University should be added to the Dook disambiguation page? BejinhanTalk 03:29, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- The usage should be documented here because it is an established and well referenced slang term... albeit one that is offensive to Duke alma mater. If we set aside the emotional response the term creates and look at it coldly from our role as encyclopedia writers it is no different than our documenting and explaining of other potentially offensive slang terms such as tit, geek, or dago. Would a mediation request initiated by those of Italian heritage -- to prevent the publishing of the disambig entry of dago -- be justified? It would not. The reason the dook version of this story is a little different is because, in the past, the folks editing the disambig page were purely vandal-happy trolls. Times have changed and we now 1) have solid references and 2) have someone (me) interested in documenting the term for it's own sake, not as a jab at Duke University. —Noah 17:15, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I just copied the above response to the mediation page. —Noah 17:19, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
The article Eleca has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- doesn't seem notable; this article has been around for a few years and never had any significant content, references, or incoming links
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rigadoun (talk) 22:08, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

October 2011
Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to President of Argentina: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:59, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yep. Know all about them, but I'm in a rental browser tonight instead of my normal one. Thanks! —Noah (talk) 04:00, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
Women's history editathon
Hey - Sorry for the late notice, but since you have yourself tagged as living in the Bay Area, I thought you might appreciate notification that we’re having an event Saturday! It’ll be held at Hoyt Hall, an all-women's house of the Berkeley Student Cooperative from 3 to 6 pm tomorrow. The main event page is here. Anyone is welcome to show up, but we’re expecting a significant number of people to come who have literally never edited Wikipedia before. If you’re an experienced Wikipedian who would be able to provide useful help to some of the newbies, your presence would be especially appreciated (and it might be a good idea for you to show up at 2 or 2:30 instead of three. Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 02:06, 6 April 2013 (UTC) I’m AWB’ing this message to all Wikipedians who have tagged themselves in the bay area. I’m sorry if the message isn’t of interest to you; feel free to delete it. I’ll be unlikely to send future messages in a similar way, but if really don’t want to receive future messages of this sort, please let me know.
