Marcel Weyers

edit

Hi NoJoker. I noticed you'd added a bunch of references to Marcel Weyers' master's thesis "Forms and Functions of Multimodal Storytelling in Story-based Video Games" just now. Some of the additions make sense to me (e.g. at Storytelling, The Walking Dead (video game), and Visual novel), but other additions (e.g. Serious game, Art game, and Video games as an art form) seem to be rather a stretch. Am I right in thinking that the only coverage of "video games as art" comes in Section 1.2 ("Relevance of the analyses")? I didn't see anything about art games or serious games either. Can you explain how the source relates to those topics? Thanks in advance. -Thibbs (talk) 21:56, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

It appears to be a bachelor's thesis and the publisher looks like a self-publisher (though I have to admit a language barrier there). Sorry to say, even if completely appropriate for the article subject, I don't think this is appropriate for a further reading section no matter how insightful it may be. I removed them from those articles with an edit summary to that effect. --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 02:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Casey Mongillo

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Casey Mongillo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Casey_Mongillo. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Quotes

edit

It's good that you showed notability for Cloudpunk by quoting passages from reviews in reliable sources - but please, boil it down. The goal is to minimize the extent to which one uses copyrighted, nonfree text. Paraphrase what you can, excerpt what you can't, and omit what's not essential. Consult the guidelines on quoting. As for the names of the reviewers - really, those are only worth including if they're already the topic of articles; otherwise it's just namedropping. DS (talk) 17:19, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Clicking Beat on the Brink of Nada moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Clicking Beat on the Brink of Nada, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
