Image:Army Of Me.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Army Of Me.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 16:51, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey I just wanted to add my support for the Haley translation page you had running. I've added my support to get it back, if that counts for anything. I really enjoyed going back and finding out exactly what she was saying. So, even if it never comes back, you have my thanks. Disco 11:33, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry if you feel that I acted inappropriately with regard to the translations, but the simple fact remains that it was indiscriminate information, which, by policy, is not what Wikipedia is about. I felt that it was inappropriate and followed the correct protocol by nominating it for deletion, which allows an open debate on the subject, where people can put their views on why the information should be allowed to remain. I put my opinion across; everyone else had the opportunity to do likewise. The case was presented to editors with no vested interest in the topic under discussion and the information was ultimately rejected for inclusion. That should be the end of things. Please understand that this is not intended personally in any way; I mean no insult to you. I simply believe in the integrity of Wikipedia and, if we repeatedly ignore the inclusion guidelines that have been set up, then that integrity is compromised, which I don't think any of us would wish to see happen.

I believe that one suggestion made during the discussion was that this information would be more appropriately placed in WikiQuotes, and I can certainly think of a considerable number of other quotes from the webcomic that could be included in an OotS page created therein. It might be that the translations would also be considered to be too indiscriminate there as well, but, without knowledge of their specific policies, I cannot comment and would certainly not feel sufficiently knowledgeable enough about it to make a similar challenge there. Indeed, were you, or any other interested party, to create a page of OotS quotes, I would undoubtedly contribute to it myself. --Tailkinker 12:52, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

There are regular Haley tranlations on the official OotS fora, you know. DS 17:53, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I am aware of that the forums contain the translations, and I even used a couple of them when translating from the comic itself proved extremely dfifficult. However, to get them, you have to search through a lot of pages, and I thought some people might appreciate it if the translations were in a more accessible place. NeoAC 27 December 2006

License tagging for Image:African Cup of Nations 2008 results.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:African Cup of Nations 2008 results.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONCACAF), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Edgar (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Insecurity (South Park)

edit

Hi. Please do not add trivia sections to articles, as you did with these edits to Insecurity (South Park). Trivial information that is not salient or relevant enough to be incorporated into the major sections of an article should not be included in articles, as indicated by WP:TRIVIA.

In addition, bullets are for lists. They are not needed for single-item passages. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 22:30, 23 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:VanillaSkyChanges.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
