In Special:Diff/972008746, you added a {{cite journal}} template with two different values for script-title. Only the last one gets used. Can you take a look at that and figure out what you meant the other value to be for? Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:05, 9 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Amami books

edit

@Nanshu, if you're still alive, do you still have the copy of the Amami Hogen bunrui Jitend ictionaries? You've added them into the entries containing this citation. Chuterix (talk) 22:41, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I apologize for the long delay. Yes, I have printed copy in two volumes. Feel free to ask if you'd like to look into it. Nanshu (talk) 06:00, 18 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for coming back! :D
I do have a scan of both volumes (from an ILL request), although pages 628-629 and 644-645 had forgotten to be scanned by me; likewise Kiku and Takahashi (2005)'s 与論方言辞典 has pages 158-159 forgotten to scan; thus the pages are missing. I also am creating a user page of dictionaries and other reference materials that I have, not accessible anywhere else.
Are your Japonic materials scans? Or you just only have the print versions of them?
Also, do you know where you've got the purported Kikai form kyaa in the article Kikaijima? I could not find it in Iwakura (1941)'s 喜界島方言集. Chuterix (talk) 04:51, 19 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have collected dictionaries for decades, with some having been OCR-ed for search functionality. Yes, I have images for pages 628-629 and 644-645 (I hope you access these before the three-hour limit).
You can safely delete the fishy word form. It was added by a poor social justice warrior.[1] It seems he just looked up the Amami hogen bunrui jiten when its online version was hosted at the University of the Ryukyus, without understanding which language it is about. It is part of a larger effort to misrepresent the peoples, languages, and cultures of the region.
Looking for Kikai data doesn't really help. As you know, there is no such thing as Kikai word forms, just as we have no Germanic word forms. We must respect the speech communities there. Unless they reach a consensus on standardized forms, we have to identify words with hamlet-level speech communities they have been taken from. Nanshu (talk) 07:24, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Nanshu Sorry, I didn't get a chance to access those pages. Is there a way you can upload those pages onto a site without deletion limits or something? I will tell you when I've downloaded the files so you can delete them/remove the links. Chuterix (talk) 20:00, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
How about this? Please note that you must be the first to download these files, or they will be deleted. Nanshu (talk) 12:49, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have successfully downloaded the files. Thank you very much for providing this. :D Chuterix (talk) 17:20, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
