Proposed deletion of Social Issues Dealt with in Cold Feet

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Social Issues Dealt with in Cold Feet, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unreferenced, reads like a personal essay, orphan, original research

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Thanks for uploading File:LBIAproposal.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.

Re: Just enquiring

Hello,

I have only just noticed the message that you left on my talk page on 24 December.

How did I manage to visit so many countries? I like to travel: As a minimum, I try to make one long train journey per year somewhere in Europe, taking in several countries at a time. And I like to fly somewhere outside Europe each year too.

Why don't I put two spaces after a full stop? Surely this is purely down to preference. I'm not aware of any 'convention' and it just seems odd to me that anyone would type two spaces. In Wikipedia it's pointless anyway, because multiple spaces in the source always display as a single space.

Finally, I urge you to stop smoking, before it's too late. Smoking ceased to be socially acceptable years before you were born. Why give money to tobacco companies for an addictive drug that will place restrictions on your life, will cause many to assume that you are anti-social, and harm your health and that of others around you? Please stop. –Signalhead < T > 19:02, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Ralph Thoresby High School.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Architecture of Leeds

Hi, just a note to say that I am sorry to see that Architecture of Leeds failed GA for a second time. I wondered if you had time to address some of the points raised in the GA review and those left by PamD on the talk page. May be the GA reviewer could give more input if required. It would be good to get another GA article after so much effort has gone into getting it this far. Keith D (talk) 21:28, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Leeds Rhinos GA review

I've carried out the GA review for Leeds Rhinos, though I'm afraid its a fail this time. Details are on the talk page. Oldelpaso (talk) 20:26, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

My personal view is that ratings other than Stub, GA and FA aren't particularly meaningful since they are far more subjective, so its generally not something to worry about; even the assessment page says "It is vital that people not take these assessments personally". That said, the article probably meets the description for "B" so there would be no problem with changing it. There's no jurisdiction issues, anyone can change it. It is still a significant way from GA level though, but you rightly point out that your other current projects are much closer, so you appear to be aware of that. South Sydney Rabbitohs looks like a fairly good example of a similar article at GA. One of the main issues with Leeds Rhinos is short sentences that give an isolated piece of information, but with no further context, such as "Leeds won the Challenge Cup in 1941 and 1942". Oldelpaso (talk) 09:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:1970-87.jpg

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:1970-87.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:42, 2 February 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Category:Ports in the United Kingdom

For every category you create, you should specify parent categories to which it belongs. You do this by listing the parents near the bottom of the page, each enclosed in double brackets like so:

[[Category:Ports and harbours of the United Kingdom]]
[[Category:Parent2]]

Replaceable fair use Image:Quarry_Hill_Flats1.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Quarry_Hill_Flats1.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 01:15, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Dominion Cinema.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Dominion Cinema.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:46, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

= Denunciating wikipedia italy

Several wikipedia administrators do not permit to add contributions regarding racism xenophobia and hate, even if including links and notes, to pages dedicated to the "Lega Nord" political party, and other pages related to people belonging to the same party well known for their racist behaveour.

Pages are blocked almost always and in case you do some change you'll be blocked without any explanation or claiming fake reasons. Even the discussion page is blocked and if somone tries to add some contributions o tries to open a discussion on the same he will be blocked for ever.

Please do something, this is a shame, it's incredible and unacceptable that a party that has always proudly claimed its own racism is described like it was a kind of scout club, and of course it's completely againist the wikipedia aims. Please check!

It seems that in wikipedia Italy there are several lobbies. It's no more free. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.80.39.41 (talk) 09:47, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Wetherby: Baptist Church is not closed

Hi, I've just edited the sentence referring to Wetherby Baptist Church, amending the edit you made on 26-Jul-09. Out of courtesy to you I should explain, as a member of the church, that it is alive and well and has most certainly not closed. Also, it has never been known as Barleyfield Community Centre: that is where we currently meet. I hope this clears things up.ChrisWB (talk) 09:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Golden Triangle

Hi, I've just been adding to the article on Leeds City Region Partnership and it mentions the Golden Triangle around Wetherby, York and Harrogate. This is in your neck of the woods, I think. An article on it would be much appreciated. I can start a stub if you think it's worthwhile.--Harkey (talk) 16:44, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply and thanks for offering to start the page. There seems to be some sort of partnership between Leeds,York and Harrogate but they probably don't know where the boundaries are either!! Wrong mill?

Hi, I think the image you [added] to Marshall's Mill is actually Temple Works, isn't it? You can see the glass domes in the roof. (Incidentally, it's worth looking at Temple Works on Googel Earth - the roof looks amazing). Cheers, PamD (talk) 23:02, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

I notice that you've said that the image is copyright-expired, but Leeds City Libraries has copyright in the digital image they've made of this old print - see the copyright statement on Leodis page at http://www.leodis.net/article.aspx?articleid=6 where it says "© Copyright. Unless otherwise stated, the copyright, database rights and similar rights in all material published on this site are owned by Leeds Library and Information Service, Leeds City Council.". I don't believe that you should be copying Leodis's images - it would be different if you were making your own photos or scans from a paper copy of the image, with the permission of the owner of the physical copy. Please stop adding this category to airport airticles. It's been done several times before, and been removed each time as a result of editor consensus. It's been agreed upon that this is not a noteworthy categorisation. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 17:46, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Repost of Category:A380 ready airports

A tag has been placed on Category:A380 ready airports requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. File source problem with File:Bishopgate.jpg

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Bishopgate.jpg.

File source problem with File:Leeds and Holbeck Railway Junction.jpg

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Leeds and Holbeck Railway Junction.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:11, 30 September 2009 (UTC).
