Oceania Club Championship

edit

Hi, I was taking a look at the "winners table" of this competition and I've noticed the following editions 2000–01 Oceania Club Championship and 2004–05 OFC Club Championship. I think that those tournaments were held respectively in 2001 and in 2005, so shouldn't they be called just 2001 Oceania Club Championship and 2005 OFC Club Championship? I'm not very expert about this issue. Maybe you know something more than me. Thanks, --VAN ZANT (talk) 09:13, 15 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Papua New Guinea National Soccer League

edit

So I was browsing through this page while trying to clear the unknown/assessment lists and I found this article which all I can say is good job on expanding this article as it's possibly a C at the minimum with all of the references that you have put in. This is only minor, but maybe can you not link "the" in the season areas so instead of "The 2014 season", its "The 2014 season". Another thing is maybe to slightly expand on the lead section but other than those two issues that I can see, I think this is possibly B-rated material on a league that not many people know about the history of. Your recent editing history at Health Australia Party shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. I am not seeing where you disclose who paid you for Lionel Reina. I am also not seeing your links to where you advertise your services. As I explained on the deletion page for this article, I pre-empted the payment by disclosing it, but was never actually paid, so eventually removed the template. Do I need to disclose the links where I advertise these services? I wasn't aware of that. Regards, MrMarkBGregory (talk) 14:48, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh wow, I see that now. Definitely missed that when reading the WP:PAID guidelines. My bad; I'll fix that immediately. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 14:56, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey! I already declared on my user page, don’t think I did on the article talk page itself before bed last night. Thanks for keeping me in check, will do so as soon as I get the chance. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 08:16, 12 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

References

Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "cite" click on it
  2. Then click on "templates",
  3. Choose the most appropriate template and fill in the details beside a magnifying glass followed by clicking said button,
  4. If the article is available in Pubmed Central, you have to add the pmc parameter manually -- click on "show additional fields" in the template and you will see the "pmc" field. Please add just the number and don't include "PMC".

We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:02, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Okay. I took it too far. I plan to stop all paid editing from here on out. I believe most of my paid edits were valuable to Wikipedia, I tried to select only those which I felt were valuable, to strike a balance between contributing to WP and contributing to my family's wellbeing. However, I understand that it is impossible to be truly neutral in those situations. I value being able to contribute to WP, and don't want to let COI get in the way of that. I apologise profusely; I hope you can see that my non-COI edits are valuable, and worth unblocking me for. I've created and edited several pages before and outside of my paid edits, very few of which have ever been reverted or taken down. I believe I can continue to be a valuable asset to the WP community if I shed the paid edits. Thanks. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 09:00, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Okay you are being unblocked with the understanding that you will not be involved in paid editing going forwards. Additionally you are not to work on any articles you have been paid for in the past. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:44, 10 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Okay so you will never do paid editing again? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:43, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@MrMarkBGregory: Why you changed the visibility of your Upwork profile to private again? If you are promising to avoid paid editing, then your Upwork profile should remain unprotected. GSS (talk|c|em) 05:09, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes that would a fair requirement IMO. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 05:52, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
You're right, that's a fair requirement. My thought process was 'I'm not doing paid edits anymore, so no-one outside of Upwork needs to see my profile.' But I've set it to Public again, and will keep the link on my userpage for reference if I'm able to edit again. For the record, I do have one pending page going through AfC, Draft:Aleya Sen, which was a paid job, and I am planning to clean up Frank Fitzpatrick, for which I was already paid but will not receive any additional payment for. This is just for clarity and to prove that I'm genuine and acting in good faith. But yes, I will not take on any more paid edits. Ever. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 07:27, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@GSS, thanks for taking a look at Draft:Aleya Sen right away. I have cancelled my contract with the person in question, and have indicated that I am no longer willing to work on that page. Be aware that it is likely he will employ someone else to edit it in my stead. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help lift my ban. There's more football in the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League this weekend and I'd love to be able to contribute by then! MrMarkBGregory (talk) 08:00, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Per your comment above, if you have cancelled the contract and you are no longer willing to work on this draft you can ask for speedy deletion per G7 so a neutral non-COI editor can start afresh in future when she becomes notable. GSS (talk|c|em) 08:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Can't do that at the moment because I'm unable to edit. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 08:13, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
You can ask Doc James to do so. GSS (talk|c|em) 08:54, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
You need to not work on any articles for which you have been paid in the past.
And yes you can make the deletion request here. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:55, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
In that case I would like to request the deletion of Draft:Aleya Sen. In terms of my work on Frank Fitzpatrick, would putting in requests for edits be suitable, or would you prefer that I terminated all work on that page completely? MrMarkBGregory (talk) 10:58, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Terminate all work on the topic completely please. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:58, 7 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Done. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 10:41, 7 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help lift this ban. I've been checking the site four/five times a day to see if I'm able to edit again, it's really quite exciting. :) MrMarkBGregory (talk) 18:10, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi @GSS and Doc James:. I hope you're enjoying a nice weekend. I'd love for my block to be lifted this weekend; I have a rare weekend at home away from the family and I'm able to contribute more than usual, and the list has been stacking up this week. That, and there's updates needed to the 2019 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League which I'm generally the lead editor for. I appreciate I don't have any right to make demands of you, but can we consider this as asking nicely instead? If you feel like I need to sit and stew for a bit longer, I totally get that as well. Thanks in advance, and thanks for all your hard work. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 16:24, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Advice

edit

You are going to have to learn the ways of Wikipedia if you are going to be happy here. I try to tell people your personal opinion and knowledge on any subject do not count. Only add reliable facts from good sources that you document for others to check. Also keeping tabs on how many people view your articles seems egotistical but I think keeping tract of edit counts is over done. Please feel free to ignore my unsolicited advice for I am no expert on Wiki matters. Eschoryii (talk) 04:42, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Seven years I guess you know your way around. Ignore my comments. Eschoryii (talk) 04:52, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
This has been mildly amusing. Pretty sure I can do whatever I want on my Userpage. Did you have a particular problem with an edit I've made? MrMarkBGregory (talk) 06:21, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
I get lost reading other people's talk pages and comment on things. Why I do not know. Wiki is a world of stranger. Eschoryii (talk) 21:00, 30 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello MrMarkBGregory, I hope you are doing well. As previously advised can you please change the visibility of your Upwork profile again? Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 03:57, 27 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks for checking in. Unfortunately, because I've been on holiday recently and haven't earned on Upwork for a while, they've automatically set my profile to private. I can't activate it again until I earn some more money. I am currently working on a long-term project outside of Wikipedia which should start up again shortly, but until then it's out of my control. Sorry! MrMarkBGregory (talk) 18:34, 27 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
