A warning against another user

edit

So apparently, earlier today I received a message by some user saying that I would be "blocked" from editing in Wikipedia if I continued. All I just did was click the "edit" section and read the notice that I am not logged in. So I just left 5 seconds later. Then I inspected the Front Page of Wikipedia and added random and custom text, to look like I "edited" the page. At the time, my IP Address was somewhat able to be seen, and that is how I am writing this article. Whoever found my IP Address, just note it is me, Mod Creator. Mod creator (talk) 04:13, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

The message should have said that it was addressed to whoever it was who had been using that IP address, which could be anybody because IP addresses get recycled very quickly. So it wasn't addressed to you personally. Ignore it. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 08:35, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Three dots

edit

I reverted your edit to ellipsis because you did the right thing but in the wrong way technically. I have added your change to three dots (disambiguation). I will also add a suitable WP:hatnote at ellipsis. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 08:39, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Tank Stars

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Tank Stars, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Lock on user page

edit

Hey Mod creator, your userpage is in Category:Wikipedia pages with incorrect protection templates. That category needs to be as empty as possible. Adding a protection template does not automatically protect a page as you aren't an admin. If you would like to request protection of your user page at your request, please do so here. Thanks! — B. @Mod creator:

It’s regarding the disambiguation hatnote at the top of the “United States” page, the concept of confusing “USAA” with “USA”. I agree with you but another user has challenged it and removed it. I brought it to the talk page, and if you could briefly shed some light on the topic and explain your reasoning, I would greatly appreciate it. Here’s the talk page topic link:

Talk:United States#RfC regarding disambiguation hatnote for “USAA”

Mrbeastmodeallday (talk) 23:54, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

The thing is that USA is almost the same spelling as USAA. Because of that, I decided to distinguish the 2. I deeply apologize if it has caused some confusion. I'd never even realize that users would be upset over a minor distinguishment.

Signature

edit

Just so you know, your present signature would be considered by many to be unduly disruptive due to its visual length. I would consider reducing it to a more pragmatically justifiable length for the reasons given therein, cheers. Remsense 19:37, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Hopefully it's not lengthy. ѕιη¢єяєℓу ƒяσм, ᗰOᗪ ᑕᖇEᗩTOᖇ 🏡 🗨 📝 19:43, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Much better to my eyes. That touches on another point to consider, actually. As someone who also deeply enjoys playing around with Unicode, it can be a worse experience with those using screen readers—who will hear the description for each of those characters being read out instead of read like we can do visually. Remsense 19:58, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh right. o diaeresis, a diaeresis, u diaeresis, e diaeresis, yeah. I didn't realize about the screen readers, most don't support international alphabets. LOL! ѕιη¢єяєℓу ƒяσм, ᗰOᗪ ᑕᖇEᗩTOᖇ 🏡 🗨 📝 23:55, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
