Welcome from Addison2008

Hi there
You have been doing a great job fighting vandalism ever since you joined last month and i was wondering as a speedy way of dealing with the mess may i suggest you apply for rollback. Let me tell you it is a much faster way of taking care of the trash on the wiki. I have no doubt you will be accepted so apply here at the bottom of this page :) You may also be interested in the anti vandalism tools at this page. My apologies if you already know about this :P Keep up the great work, we all appreciate vandal fighters here on the pedia. Happy Wikipeding! Monster Under Your Bed (talk) 08:23, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your encouraging comment. but I thought I must have more edits to be accepted. anyway, I'll do it, hope they accept me. Thanks again. ■ MMXXc.t 11:19, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, i saw your post on Azatoth's talk page. Unfortunately Twinkle doesn't work in IE, have you ever tried using another browser say Mozilla Firefox? Try it, its easy. It will make things so much more easier than editing via hand Reverted edits by xxx ...., make sure you apply for Rollback, trust me :) Monster Under Your Bed (talk) 06:46, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. ■ MMXXc.t 09:12, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- I have granted your request for Rollback, just remember that if you aren't 100% sure an edit was in bad faith, don't use it. Otherwise, keep up the excellent work. Cheers, WilliamH (talk) 12:43, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for Rollback, I'll do my best to protect Wikipedia. ■ MMXXc.t 12:54, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Marking your edits as minor
Hi - just a heads up that your edits show up as being marked minor when they shouldn't:
Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you.
Regards --Matilda talk 07:07, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. can you please tell me which ones, because most of my edits are reverting vandalism and i thought they must marked as minor. Should i make a second edit on all pages and mark them as major? Regards ■ MMXXc.t 07:30, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- PS: Rollback marks edits as minor by default. ■ MMXXc.t 07:36, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hi - rolling back vandalism is fine as being marked minor. However, welcoming people or warning people should probably not be - see for example [1] and [2] - the edit summaries don't show them as being marked as minor but they do show as such in your contribution history. Regards --Matilda talk 07:51, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for pointing it out. I will keep it in mind in the future. ■ MMXXc.t 13:33, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for taking the time to revert vandalism to my user &/or talk page(s)

Graphic lab/top
Hi there, I noticed you added the little green box to the graphics lab for making requests. Great idea btw! I hope you don't mind that I changed the link a bit, I hope it is more helpful this way. If you think it should be reverted back to how you had it please do so.
Thanks for your time, §hep • ¡Talk to me! 23:09, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- No, i don't mind; In fact your change is great and useful, thanks for your contributions. ■ MMXXtalk 18:13, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Regarding: "List of Last of the Summer Wine characters" edit
I added that information for a specific reason; the 'link' on the word "poof", led to a section of Wikipedia that has no relevance to the British English language.
It is well known from a British point of view, that the word "poof" is used in place of sissy, or homosexual; it can be used as an offence to any male who enjoys the finer points of life. Indeed, I added the information for reasons of clarity, since Wikipedia seems to be VERY American biased, and the so-called link led to a section that bears no meaning to the context in which the word was used.
I therefore stand by my original edit and ask you to reconsider your somewhat over zealous countermanding of my quite reasonable edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.157.244.213 (talk) 22:44, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, I undid my edit, but the link was fine and it lead readers to "Poof" page in Wiktionary which describe the meaning of "Poof"; Wikipedia is a global project and if you think a page is "(as you wrote) VERY American" you can start editing, and make it the way that you think it is right, of course other editors are also free to change your edits, you can start with Poof's page and add some meaning to it. Pleaase don't forget to use Edit summary for all of your edits and I also recommend you to create an user account. ■ MMXXtalk 09:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Image permission problem with Image:Palin nowhere.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Palin nowhere.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.andrewhalcro.com/the_bridge_to_somewhere. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 11:42, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, Thank you for your comment, I didn't creat this image, I uploaded it as a respond to a request by Homunq at Graphic Lab for image improvment. I was also concern about the Copyright of this image but I am not very familiar with Licensing of images and I didn't know what should I do. You may already know that there are two other images like this one and both are nominated for deletion.(Image:Nowhere 99901 (Crop2).jpg and Image:Palin Nowhere 99901.jpg), I believe the original uploader of these images is Duuude007; If there is anything that i can do please let me know. Looks great, thanks! There are higher resolution sources for all these images, which you apparently discovered; I'd use them instead, except my computer doesn't know what to do with TIFFs. Nyttend (talk) 15:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- The difference between the pictures is amazing! I'm almost never on Commons except when I want to upload an image; would you please let me know how the featured picture nomination turns out? Nyttend (talk) 15:15, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, I am glad you like it. sure, I'll let you know when voting closed. since you have account in commons you can also easily vote for the image if you like it. ■ MMXXtalk 22:43, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I've never participated much with quality reviews of any sort, whether here or on Commons, so I really don't know whether the featured picture criteria would have permitted it or not — thus no vote. Nyttend (talk) 11:45, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Hubert Burda Media-logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Hubert Burda Media-logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 20:53, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

- For what it's worth, users are allowed to delete warnings from their own talk pages. If anything, it indicates that the user has at least seen the warning. Whether they choose to act on it (or, in this one's case, not act on it) is up to them. Where he crossed into the land of bad mojo was trying to delete the report I posted on WP:AIV. That can have serious repercussions. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 17:08, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well just wait, someone at AIV should deal with it shortly. ■ MMXXtalk 17:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Copyright violations tagged images
Hi,
You tagged several of my images as a copyright violation. All these pictures are owned by V.E.M. and I am managing director of this organization. I hope the info on http://www.vem.at/kontakt.html is enough to remove the copyright violation tags and restore the pictures.
I would never post pictures without having the permission to do so. There's the same discussion about some parts of the text - the problem should be solved within the next days.
--Manhart.sebastian (talk) 07:52, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Dear user,
I tagged this images to protect "VEM" rights and I believe that you grabbed them from VEM website (considering image size and camera model "Phase one P25")
Anyway, If you have a permission for this images, and you claim that you are "Mr. Sebastian Manhart" you can send an email, of course using your own email address manhart.sebastian@wkv.at to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org), clearly stating that you are willing to release this images to one of accepted licenses in commons, then you are free to upload your images, after you uploaded an image, you should add template{{OTRS pending}}
to the image page, so we can understand that you are waiting for your permission to get verified by OTRS members.
Here are some useful links for you:
Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission
Wikipedia:Example requests for permission
OTRS
Commons:Licensing
Commons:Copyright tags
I hope you understand our concerns in protecting people's and company's properties, if you are from "VEM" you already know that this items are your company's intellectual property, so please don't get upset because I tagged this images as copyright violation.
By the way, this images were taken by a 30,000$ Phase one P25 camera, why didn't you uploaded a higher resolution image.
Regards. ■ MMXXtalk 17:10, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Copyright Violations
Hi Mmxx,
I got an e-mail from you regarding some pictures I had uploaded (Knowledge Center.jpg) being a copyright violation. I misread the instructions for uploading pictures. I have since uploaded the screenshot in the English Wiki for use on a page directly related to the screenshot. There are, I believe, 2 or 3 photos that I also uploaded that you will probably have a similar issue with (MyCareerDriver.jpg and MyPath Homepage - Unregitered). These have also been uploaded directly to the English Wiki. I looked for a way to delete them, but I believe I read somewhere that regular users are not able to do this. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. If you could confirm I have made the appropriate corrections I would appreciate it, or if I haven't if you could point me in the right direction that would also be great.
Thanks a bunch!

- Unfortunately all of your images on Commons have same problem, Wikimedia Commons accepts only free content, so I tagged all of them as copyright violation, they will get removed from commons by an administrator. ■ MMXXtalk 18:34, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello. I'm not quite sure what to do with that IP user myself. He's obviously the same person that's been attacking my user page for a week now, but I never get the chance to actually understand what he's trying to say. I have no connection to the Social Security incident, and just rewrote that section because it was messy. This user obviously doesn't understand that you can edit a section without being affiliated with it... I think I'll report him to ANI if talks don't work. Thanks for your message! Cut'n'paste page-move
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Burda Fashion (magazine) a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
I've fixed the mistake here. Let me know if you need further assistance. DMacks (talk) 06:54, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for correcting my edit, I totally forgot that we can move pages and there is no need to create a whole new page. ■ MMXXtalk 07:01, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

categoryzed images
Hi: I recently post images on wikicommons. I assume you're a facilitator on the site cause you've asked about the copyright. First of all the author of the pics give me the authorisation and send FOR ALL PICS (since the 12the of this month) to permissions-commons-fr@wikimedia.org the authorisation in accordance with the licence Creative Commons Paternité-Partage des Conditions Initiales à l'Identique 3.0 of wikicommons. Thanks to averiguate they've been received.
Second of all, I want to categorized the pics, but I don't understand how I can do it now I've upload them. In wikipedia I know I've produce something like this:
Category:Happening and I've mark it like a level 2 headline and that's it, but here this method doesn't work. How can I do, and what else can or must I do to complete the information about my pics? thanks for your answer. Alainmartinez
- Here is a complete guide about adding categories to your images, Commons:Categories, I see you are speaking French language, so this may also be useful: Commons:Catégories. please also read my reply on your Commons' talk page. Regards ■ MMXXtalk 19:36, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi! Do you remember how to make wikipedia ad? I saw you once made one and I would like to make one. RascalthePeaceful (t/a/c) 21:22, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

As you seem to be very concerned about these (trying to pixilate pictures), please could you do the pixillation yourself. This would be much better than just deleting stuff. If you think certain things need to be improved in Wikipedia, then it is a good idea to do it yourself, rather than deleting other people’s work unless they do it.
These debates about the letter of copyright law are not in the spirit of cooperation that helped make Wikipedia such a fun thing to add to in the past. Mike Young (talk) 17:22, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
stuff about if we took the photo of the park after the election it would be OK, is nonsense. There would be another poster there in exactly the same location - probably for a consumer product such as cigarettes Mike Young (talk) 17:24, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, thank you for your comment, perhaps if I had enough time and if I wasn't very busy I had done it myself when NickK made me sure about Ukraine copyright law, also IMO it's duty of user who suggested blurring to do that. and about your second comment: so don't take pictures with ads in them and if you did please blur copyrighted materials before uploading. at the end I must say that a DR is dependent on community decision and discussions and not on single person's (like me!) idea, that's why we use DRs instead of copyvio and etc. tags. ■ MMXX talk 22:36, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Stealing your Wikipedia birthday medallion
I admit that I spread the wealth of your Wikipedia birthday medallion ... without knowing anything other than it was very nice to look at ... and while looking at it, added it to my user page ... and later Jimbo's (surprised it had not appeared there by some other hand than mine).
NOTE: If I had known it was something you planned to bestow, I would never have leaped to use it ...
BUT :) if you're going to forget to give a birthday medallion on the birthday, then I'll steal it next time, too. LoL Cheers.
PS I did not sign when I added it to Jimbo's page, so at least I didn't take credit. Proofreader77 (interact) 00:43, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, Happy Wikipedia Birthday, No problem at all using that medal, actually I am very happy that you did it, it was meant to be given on 15 January and ...well, you did it for me, thank you for taking responsibility for something that I had forgotten, besides technically you couldn't steal it, I had gifted it to you too, I mean to all contributors in English Wikipedia, I would be happy if you do the same anytime I forget anything , I am very happy that you actually liked that, also thank you for your friendly message, it makes me feels good, cheers. ■ MMXX talk 05:33, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
