If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on W257DT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. WFOV-LP

It launched in May 2016. WJRT-TV did a story about it in June. WFOV 92.1 FM broadcasts from Flint.TomCat4680 (talk) 02:19, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Not questioning the fact that it's launched. What I'm saying is that the FCC has not yet issued it a broadcast license — if it's operating, it's doing it under the construction permit. See the FCC record for the call sign here. The criteria for inclusion in the radio stations by state lists is laid out right in the introduction: "The following is a list of FCC-licensed radio stations...". WFOV-LP doesn't meet that criteria. The frequency pages have generally followed the same criteria, although it's not stated there explicitly — I'm not going to argue with you over that one.
One important thing to keep in mind — precedent would suggest that the article shouldn't even exist yet. Articles for "proposed" radio stations are deleted regularly, as permits often don't get built out and it's the broadcast license that's generally what grants the notability. I wouldn't nominate the article at AfD in this case, as it is broadcasting and it's a good stub with references, but you shouldn't be surprised if someone else does. It's definitely broadcasting. I've been listening to it all weekend. They have a pretty full schedule too per their website. TomCat4680 (talk) 03:08, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I think that puts them in good shape. They have until almost the end of the year to get all their testing and filing done, and turn that permit into a license before it expires. Mlaffs (talk) 03:49, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

  • A recent query shows that only 16% of administrators on the English Wikipedia have enabled two-factor authentication. If you haven't already enabled it please consider doing so.
  • Cookie blocks should be deployed to the English Wikipedia soon. This will extend the current autoblock system by setting a cookie for each block, which will then autoblock the user after they switch accounts under a new IP.
  • A bot will now automatically place a protection template on protected pages when admins forget to do so.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
