License tagging for Image:American.Physical.Society.logo.gif
editThanks for uploading Image:American.Physical.Society.logo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

editThis is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:American.Physical.Society.logo.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:28, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Notability of Harambee Hills
editA tag has been placed on Harambee Hills requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 14:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Harambee Hills, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 15:10, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

The deletion of Harambee Hills is racist, sexist and discriminates
editHarambee Hills is an important addition to WIKIPEDIA
And another thing, if you continue to omit Harambee Hills, you just may as well delete the whole listing of webcomics, cartoonists, everything related to webcomics, etc Oh, or does the Harambee Hills creator need to be a white, American and male to be includes on Wikipedia? User talk:Milesaurus
Listen this is an important article. I even edited down the characters listing. There are not many African-American cartoonists listed on the Wiki. Also, there are hundreds of Webcomics on the Wiki, New and Old! Are you stated that WIKI is only for White cartoonist? - Thank you for your concerns. In the future I would suggest that instead of making a batch of unsupported accusations your efforts would be better spent addressing the core issues which cause the article to be deleted. Despite your certainty that the article was deleted due to bias against African-Americans, you should consider the possibility that an article about a webcomic that was apparently created less than a month ago and for which Google is unable to find any reliable sources may not yet be able to satisfy Wikipedia's policy for verifiability. If you are not familiar with Wikipedia's inclusion policies then I would recommend you read Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day for an overview. --Allen3 talk 00:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Removing tags and others' comments
editHi Milesaurus,
Please do not remove maintenance tags from articles without discussing them (as you did here). As well, please do not remove others' comments from article talk pages, as you did here. Both of these may result in the blocking of your account of they persist. Cheers, Sarcasticidealist (talk) 20:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Are you the same as Kerryjohnson?
editHi Milesaurus - could you confirm, in the interest of transparency and adherence to Wikipedia's policy on the use of multiple accounts, whether you're the same person as Kerryjohnson (talk · contribs)? There's no problem if you are, but it would really help if you'd declare as much. And, if you're not, it would help if you'd tell us, so as to allay our suspicions. I was informed of this regrettable back-and-forth situation with Harambee Hills
editHello. Yes, I am Kerry G. Johnson. I'm not Milesaurus, BUT I know the person. Milesaurus informed me of what was happening with the Harambee Hills article. I regret that my webcomic title did not meet your Wikipedia standards. Milesaurus is a "fan" and wanted to support my efforts. especially after I told M. about all the other webcomic entries on your site. Additionally, Harambee Hills does have a entry on Comixpedia AND a web site that I do maintain. Harambee Hills also will be published in several publications in the Fall 2008.
And about the edits to my own Kerry G. Johnson entry. I believe M. also originally started that a few years ago. Though, I do edit or clarify the content if I see any mistakes or for updating. It's not an actual autobiography, because I do have an online presence.
One last note, as Milesuarus, mentioned. I'm an award-winning cartoonist and caricaturist. I do believe this is notable, because there are not many African-American professional cartoonist and caricaturist in our industry. Not to mention, cartoonist who were born in Nashville. Here are true life examples: I have been contacted often by aspiring minority artists, cartoonists or caricaturists looking for source material for projects or book reports on people of color who is a professional cartoonist. And along with my own promotional materials, many of the students have found me by visiting Wikipedia. I do not need Wikipedia for any business or promotional reasons, I have have my own site for that.
So in closing, I am not a novice in this industry, my accolades, illustrated books and awards have proven that.
And perhaps you can also rethink Milesauarus' Harambee Hills entry?
Sincerely,
Kerryjohnson (Kerryjohnson) (talk) 06:35, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
