Tomb of Kha and Merit

Dear Merytat3n, first of al I apologize for the long delay in reviewing our article before your FAC. I now hav had time to read it and I see that it is very clearly of very high standard. I am confident this will be a FAC. There is litle to point out to improve. The coverage of the topic is thorough; the layout is good; style of references is perfect and their content too (a cursory look at JSTOR and common book sourcs confirms this). A few nitpicks:

Regarding alt text, is it always present except for one instance which you have forgotten (it is for File:Sarcofago interno di Merit mpi304930.tif wih caption "Merit's masked and partially shrouded mummy lying in her coffin trough") also to be on the safe side for the alts where you say "see caption" and "refer to caption" I suggest you really write an alt or copy the caption (this is ok for me but sometimes weird things get raised at FAC).

I noticed that none of the caption have references, I think this is ok for most but I would feel more secure if you could find a ref confirming the TT8 Plan picture because it was uploaded as "own work" by a wikicommons user. Thank you for finding the alt I forgot and for your advice. I have done as you suggested and replaced any instances of "see caption" or similar with alt text.

I have added a ref for the chapel plan. It seems to be based on the plan given in Porter and Moss (1960). Merytat3n (talk) 03:19, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Put it up at FAC whenever you feel ready and expect to have wiki time available and it should go very well. FAC is always a very long process and you will certainly have to do tweaks following suggestions. Expect:

• i) to see a long time elapse between putting the article up and the end of the FAC process when your article is (hopefully) promoted (this can easily take 2/3 months);
• ii) to have to respond to lots of little thing notably about phrasing or technical points (overall try to implement as many changes as possible, if you feel like something proposed is not acceptable, explain why to the reviewer);
• iv) try to answer reviews relatively quickly (hence put at FAC when you expect to have wiki time);
• iii) possibly not seeing enough reviews (if so then we can agitate people in the Ancient Egypt Wikiproject to have enough reviewers). I will also drop by to add a support, I am going on vacations but will post a support at some point in August if I see the article in FAC.

Keep in mind that before promotion your article will also receive: an image review checking that all employed pictures have the required copyrights (you may have to edit some wikicommons data to update incorrect copyrights, or in the wose case scenario, removing a picture or pick an alternative one) and a source review and spotcheck (randomly selected references will be reviewed for their formatting, quality and accuracy with respect to the text). Thank you very much for the very helpful rundown of what to expect! I will probably put in through in the next week or so. I feel I have just been moving words around on the page without making any real improvements for a while so there is no real reason to delay it ^_^; I expect to have a bit of downtime in early August (small vacation) but I will have internet access and I will bring the physical sources with me.
