Dampier burrup and flying foam
editThe burrup art is the more developed (if not over) the flying foam is the recent stub and the dampier is the indequately expanded (probaby should have more geog stuff in it) - so id have a close look at the burrup one imho for the anthrop material SatuSuro 01:26, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually the burrup art was kept separate from the dampier for reason of the issues it raises - and the dampier is left skeletal and the flying foam could have been merged into either but they are three sep arts at the mo - SatuSuro 01:32, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
We have these huge imposing not very helpful lists of islands for western australia - and maias did a great job on the islands of tasmania some time back - i have a very very distant fantasy to say the least to do an art of the fiction writing and islands in oz some time - maybe when all the other loose threads are finished :( SatuSuro 01:35, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Borges - you have pushed a button there - maybe some emails on some issues there - actually fictional and real could make a real good article - the whole thing of novels about rottnest here in perth - and i am sure all the larger islands off the south and east coast have novels written and or associated with ... SatuSuro 01:43, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
The thing is west australia has a substratum of very poorly known novels and stories that may well exist in the nla (was there too short time in january) and maybe the battye - about all of those - however the problem is finding em SatuSuro 01:51, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
islands
editHi Meredyth,
You rock. However, I put it to you that: Australia has a hell of a lot of islands; that List of islands of Australia is currently a crap list, and that it will never be complete, and nor indeed would we want it to be complete, because it would be astronomically large; that the only way List of islands of Australia could ever be considered a high quality list is if it is carefully scoped in such a way as to contain only prominent islands, while excluding boring two-bit islands, in which case two-bit islands like Pigeon Island (Houtman Abrolhos) would not be on it; that it therefore doesn't make sense to be linking to List of islands of Australia from every two-bit island; and that if you really really wanted to link to a list of islands from every two-bit island, the Western Australian islands would be better off linked to List of islands of Western Australia, which is complete; or better still, in the case of Pigeon Island, to List of islands in the Houtman Abrolhos. But you still rock.

List of fictional characters ... pending deletion
editHello,
You may be interested in the discussion regarding deleting a list article regarding fictional Carpenters. You have in the past created a List of surname Burgess. I created a list of real and fictional Carpenter because other editors/admins told me to do so from the Carpenter surname page. Now others want to delete it. I was happy with the way it was and would be happy to merge the fictional Carpenters with the list of surname Carpenters. Any input, pro or con would be welcome.

Disambiguation link notification for June 24
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2012 in Australian literature, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page All That I Am (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest
editI have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 03:09, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Problem with your custom signature
editYou have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.
The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.
The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.
- Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
- Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
- Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
