I need your thoughts and help on an article Lauren Jauregui ... She is apart of a group Fifth Harmony but many users feel as though she should have a separate article even though she has not left the group and is still apart it. Most of her information on her stand article is about Fifth Harmony and is placed in Fifth Harmony's member section. I wanted to know your thoughts and what you suggest I do about it?

My edits on Chadstone Shopping Centre and Westfield Southland

Hi MelbourneStar In response to your message on my talk page about my edits on Chadstone Shopping Centre and Westfield Southland, I am not trying to make disruptive edits on these two articles as I am trying to clean up them, shorten it down a bit and also make some progress. If you can could you please revert back to my edits and re-add the sources and information I got rid of. I would also like to help fix up the page as well as I want to remove the cleanup template. Regards, BugMenn (talk) 18:57, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi @BugMenn:, I'll address specific issues with your edits:
Re Chadstone
You have not justified why this section ought to be removed on the grounds of it being "not needed". That is not an adequate reason to remove content that is covered in reliable third-party sources, and such sources are cited.
This edit had various issues. Namely, you have significantly cut chunks out of the lead of the article. Per MOS:LEAD, the article's lead ought to "identify the topic and summarize the body of the article with appropriate weight." You have given no weight to any other sections, apart from Chadstone's location and its claim at being the biggest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere. That's certainly not a summary of the article.
Secondly, in regards to the latter edit: you've added original research into the floor area category (replacing a floor area which is cited by a source that is now a dead link – but one could argue it still cites the source). You've also removed content from various sections, and replaced it with more content lacking any citations.
This edit, you've claimed to have removed unsourced content. Should I be reading the revisions correctly, it appears you have removed content with sources, and replaced it with content without sources. The sources cited in the original revision appear to be deadlinks (albeit mostly full citations – dates, publisher, etc.) – however, sources being deadlinks is still not an adequate reason to remove sections/sources, per WP:LR (specifically, please refer to WP:DEADLINK and WP:KDL). You are encouraged to either tag the sources with a {{dead link}} tag or find alternative sources which convey the same information.
Re Southland
Again, you've removed content with this edit without any adequate explanations. The content you removed includes full citations (dead or otherwise, please refer to my above point about dead links), and the lead has been reduced to a single sentence and fails to summarise the article. I note, you have removed content on this article because it lacks verification – yet, you've added that the centre has 259 stores, with no references to back that claim up. Removing unsourced content, and replacing it with more unsourced content isn't as productive as it seems.
Suggestions
I certainly agree with you that you're not trying to be disruptive. The disruptive issue was more that myself and another editor disputed your edits, and you kept going. Nevertheless, I do have suggestions that you may want to consider going further.
Chadstone: re its recent redevelopment, it will no doubt need updating (figures pertaining to its store count, size, major tenants, revenue etc.). This will need new sources to validate new content. Such updates will need to occur in the lead, body, and infobox. Re Southland, where there's deadlinks, feel free to tag them as deadlinks, or find alternative sources. Hope I make sense, but if there are any other issues, please let me know. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 01:32, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

I have little patience for editors removing corrections and reverting to an incorrect version of the article - both in the first instance, when the answer was easily confirmed with a quick Google, and in the second, when I directly provided you with a source. If you're so concerned about referencing, feel free to add it - just don't add information that you know to be incorrect to the encyclopedia because a new editor didn't correct it in entirely the correct way. The Drover's Wife (talk) 05:52, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

@The Drover's Wife: speaking of little patience, I myself have very little of that too when it comes to editors who do not even bother following through and providing citations for unreferenced material in an article (as it still stands, because of your edits). The onus is on you and/or the editor (who you falsely claim as "new" – though has been editing for seven years) to substantiate the content you or the other editor adds. Might I add, across the buildings in Australia articles on Wikipedia, the The Skyscraper Center is a reliable and regularly updated database that we have used time and time again to validate whether or not a project is under construction; according to this, the project is still not under construction. You may know this, if it wasn't for your drive-by-editing of a subject you evidently don't know that much about. So please take that boomerang of yours, and do the due diligence on your edit as required by our policy on verification —— or don't do it, because it speaks volumes about whether you care about our readers or not. Revert to American Horror Story: Apocalypse

I thought you might want an explanation to the edit that you reverted earlier. The reason for putting the 8 in was I recently made and edit to Template:American Horror Story, that meant that on articles that apply to a particular season of AHS, you could put the number of the season in the template and only the episode and charater articles relevant to that season would appear on the template, apart from the top part of the template i.e. the bit with the blue background. The edit to the template was based on the templates Template:Doctor Who episodes and Template:Game of Thrones episodes, which do the same thing as the AHS template now does. Intially, I was going to leave the template on Apocalpyse how it was until the season had begun airing and the was at least one episode article for Apocalypse, but then looking at Doctor Who (series 11) and Game of Thrones (season 8), which are both yet to air, they already are in the form {{Game of Thrones episodes|8}} etc., so only the top part of the template shows. So I decided to the same to Apocalpyse, so my edit did actually go to plan, and I don't believe I "broke" the template. Since I assume you don't agree with the edit I made, I'm not going to revert it back without consensus, but I thought I'd explain what I was doing. Hope this makes sense TedEdwards 13:00, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi @TedEdwards: thanks for your explanation. I can see where you're coming from, and as such, have reverted my edit. Apologies, —MelbourneStartalk 14:38, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

AIV Suggestion

Hi ,this user has only vandalized twice in the last 31 hours. Please remove your AIV report about him/her. Suggestion not a command. Thank you for fighting vandalism. JC7V-constructive zone 05:19, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

@JC7V7DC5768: Thanks for your concern, however I beg to differ. I've made a thousand or so reports to be aware that AIV reporting is certainly not predicated on vandalism/disruptive editing that occurred only in the past 24 hours; if an IP/user were to make an unconstructive edit after a level-4 final warning for such edits, the next step is AIV. Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 06:19, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
Sorry if I came off strong. I wasn't ordering you to do so. I just was offering you a different alternative for that one incident. I didn't realize you were a vet, if I did i never would have suggested my suggestion. Bad judgement call on my part. Thanks for the advice. However sometimes protecting the article as opposed to blocking ip is another alternative i've heard may work. The only article they've vandalized since June was Brenton Thwaites .But the important thing is they stopped, and whether they're blocked or not , hopefully they can learn from this like I will.JC7V-constructive zone 06:30, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
@JC7V7DC5768: No need to apologise, it's all good :)
I considered page protection too, but that would lock out other IP addresses who edit that article and do so constructively. Meanwhile, this IP comes back every few days and keeps reinstating the same BLP content -- without edit summaries to explain what they're doing -- and despite the warnings on their talk page. Should they not be blocked this time around, I would expect that they engage with us on the issue, or not add the BLP content back (in it's current form) -- otherwise I will have to bring it back to AIV. —MelbourneStartalk 06:38, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

I'll just say Magicladasha does not have a history of being civil with me, as after I reverted their (unsourced) edit here, they left messages for me on Talk:American Horror Story: Apocalypse and on my talk page. TedEdwards 14:56, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

@TedEdwards: well I've left them a message regarding their incivility. If they have no intention on participating here in a cordial manner and be respectful of other editors, I will take this to AN/I. They should have not spoken to you like that, period. Best, —MelbourneStartalk 15:09, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Frank Forde

I'm willing to see sources that say he was an interim leader. Onetwothreeip (talk) 09:09, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

@Onetwothreeip: Forde was an interim/temporary leader. Curtin -- then leader of the ALP in 1945 -- died and as a result, his deputy took over his duties temporarily (inc. Prime Minister) until a permanent leader was elected in their place. The following sources indicate that Forde was not the leader of the Labor Party, but rather a temporary leader:
  • Australia's PMs > Francis Forde National Archives of Australia; mentions his tenure as PM, as deputy leader... but nothing about leader. This NAA source goes into further detail, yet omits Forde's apparent status as Leader of the Labor Party [for 7 days]...
  • Forde, Francis Michael (Frank) (1890–1983) Following Curtin’s death in July 1945, Forde was prime minister from 6 to 13 July, but caucus soundly rejected him as a permanent leader in favour of the more charismatic Ben Chifley.
  • Frank Forde As Deputy Prime Minister, Forde took over as Prime Minister on Curtin’s death. He held the position for eight days, 6–13 July 1945, in a caretaker capacity, until the federal parliamentary Labor Party elected JB Chifley instead. As Deputy Leader of the party, Forde was bypassed twice for the leadership, in 1934 and 1945, when Curtin and Chifley respectively became the leaders.. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 09:23, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
I think the last two sources at least are fair enough in justifying Forde as an interim leader. Onetwothreeip (talk) 09:29, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
@Onetwothreeip: Yes, and as the list stands -- he is listed as an interim leader. —MelbourneStartalk 09:36, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Deleting my input to the Shuffle page

We can do this for ever if you like or I can report you to Wiki but please do not remove my edits to the shuffle dance page. I provided evidence something you have completely failed to do.— Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiRaver (talkcontribs)

@WikiRaver: your "evidence" does not meet Wikipedia's reliable sources threshold; Wikipedia, Wikia, other .Orgs are not reliable sources. You also continue to debate the definition of shuffling by providing a YouTube video of a UK Rave in the 1980's that does not verify that it is in fact shuffling. I'd encourage you to stop edit warring; discuss the content you wish to add in to the article on the article's talk page -- the onus is on you to do so. Report me on Wikipedia, you'll get the same feedback. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 13:17, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

Whilst that web page has not one single piece of evidence that the shuffle dance ever originated in Melbourne at all. Whilst those videos I linked are physical evidence the shuffle dance was in the UK in 1989. Most the links are broken! I say you are unfairly biased.
