Welcome!

Hello, MathurAjay, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. I reverted your recent edits to Orthodontics as they were very remotely related to the article's subject matter. The section in question was devoted to training systems in orthodontics and should not be used for eulogy of a professional association or its individual board members. Thanks. kashmiri 00:24, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Do not remove Biographies of Living Persons PRODs from articles without addressing the issue, as you did with Ravindra Nanda. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the respective talk page instead. Thank you. kashmiri 12:21, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Prof. Ravindra Nanda.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Prof. Ravindra Nanda.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. kashmiri 12:27, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Respected Sir, I have received these files personally from Dr. Nanda and i had also sent the mail to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, for the copyright issue. Regards Dr. Ajay Mathur

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Dr. Ravi nanda and Dr. Ram Nanda.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. kashmiri 12:58, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, MathurAjay. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Ravindra Nanda, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. You are most welcome to contribute to Wikipedia but thank you to remember that Wikipedia cannot serve promotional purposes. All information placed here needs to have clearly identified source (references), and editing whilst having a conflict of interest is strongly discouraged. kashmiri 13:12, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

There's two problems, 1) you haven't labelled the images to say that permission has been forwarded so how is anyone to know. If you have forwarded the email you need to go back to each photo and add {{OTRS pending}} to each licence 2) If Dr Nanda is in the photos it's unlikely that he owns the copyright on the images. That, in most cases will belong to the photographer. NtheP (talk) 17:58, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dear NtheP Thank you so much for you help and suggestion. I am new to wiki and have little knowledge about it. But still i try to solve the issue of the images. Thank you so much for your help. Regards

File permissions: general observations

edit

Hello,

Just a word of clarification. Permissions for reuse have to be sent by the copyright holder. Legally speaking, the fact of receiving photos by email from the person depicted on them does not substitute for transfer of copyright. Hence, the photographs have been tagged.

Often, contributions of some users attract more scrutiny than of others, and the reasons may include short time on Wikipedia, controversial contributions or a history of warnings. You have drafted a very detailed biography of a hardly notable living person (Ravindra Nanda), adding an unusually large number of pictures and without heeding to the Manual of Style - see the article tags. Hence, your other contributions came under scrutiny as well - I believe it's good that other editors pay attention to the quality of newly published articles and uploaded pictures.

If you want to pass the scrutiny, I'd suggest you go and correct all the deficiencies of the said article. kashmiri 17:59, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dear [Kashmiri]

Thank you for your suggestions and help. As you know i am new to wiki, but still I am trying to understand it. I am reading a lots of terms and condition daily and frankly speaking I am little bit confused also. Please gave me some time to understand wiki guidelines and I will try to solve all the problem. One more thing Sir, I have not created this page, I had just try to add some details which I know. Dr. Ravindra Nanda renown person through out the world. I am in delhi and in no way in relation and in contact with Dr. Nanda except as a collage. At, I want to Thank you all of the you who supported me and guided me a lot. I joined wiki to improve its content related to Ortho and if allowed I will try to do So.
