The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Marianne Zimmerman. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{help me}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! Redalert2fan (talk) 22:22, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Citation Bot

edit

You seem to be in love with that bot, and since you're a librarian interested in citations, you might also be interested in WP:CITEWATCH, a compilation of probably problematic citations. You can read about it here. Also feel free to join WP:JOURNALS.

If you have questions, feel free to ask me! Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 06:23, 27 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Interesting, I am following it now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marianne Zimmerman (talkcontribs) at 13:16, 27 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

This account is an unauthorized bot

edit
Cross-posted here, at Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard, at User talk:Citation bot, and at User talk:Smith609

This account has made tens of thousands of edits by proxy using the Citation bot. It is still ongoing while I'm writing this. The account itself has made only 11 edits so far.

It is obvious that this 'Marianne Zimmerman' account is a bot, since it is working around the clock, 24/7. The account is not labeled as such, and has not been authorized by the Bot Approvals Group. In itself not a big deal, because the account has been making only positive edits and has not caused disruption. Still, it is technically violating policy, and I'm wondering why a bot would use another bot to make bot edits. That seems rather silly. I hope the author of the 'Marianne bot' can come forward so that we can work things out. Cheers, Manifestation (talk) 12:04, 14 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. --Redalert2fan (talk) 13:04, 14 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
