License tagging for Image:Arbet Kozhaya.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Arbet Kozhaya.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:04, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

LF page

edit

Hey Fadi, i created a discussion on the issue of the two official LF sites. You can participate in that discussion if you would like. I believe both official sites should be listed and that wikipedia shouldn't choose sides. I also believe the LF Blog should remain a link since its the only LF blog and its a group blog run by a number of LF members. It provides another informative view about the LF. Anyway please participate in the discussion. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Talk:Lebanese_Forces --usurp 07:36, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reporting vandalism

edit

Hi! I noticed your report on WP:AN/I about vandalism. First of all, you should know that we have a separate noticeboard just for dealing with vandalism, located at WP:AIV (Administrator Intervention against Vandalism). You may also want to read this, which is a very clear guide of how to warn and report vandals. Please let me know if I can be of further help to you! Cheers. -- Merope 16:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please be more careful when identifying vandals. User:129.194.8.73, who you reported both at WP:AN/I and WP:AIV, removed some of the vandalism of the other IP you reported at WP:AN/I. Your warning on his talk page is inappropriate. --Onorem 16:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not at all a problem. I just wanted to let you know in case you would want to go back and comment on your warning. I see that you did and thank you for it. It's an easy enough mistake to make. I know I've left vandal warnings on the wrong page before. --Onorem 22:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Arbet_kozhaya.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Samir Geagea appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Official picture of Samir Geagea

edit

I wish to challenge your deletion of an image.

  • The image's title is Image:Samir_Geagea_official_picture.jpg.
  • I understand that the image was deleted because it was listed on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images and no reason was advanced within 14 days of that listing for keeping the image.
  • However, I feel this image can be used on Wikipedia.
    • This image can be used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0.
    • The following is the rationale for including the image: The administrators at lebanese-forces.com did send an email to permissions-en[AT]wikimedia.org confirming the license of the picture.
  • I did not provide this reason during the 14-day period while the image was listed on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because I did not receive any notification about this picture on my talk page. Also, I thought that the problem was solved as I checked the image's page several times with no sign of problems.

Please consider restoring this image. Fadib83 (talk) 22:28, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message.
Can you please confirm the OTRS ticket number in question? This would have been received as a reply to the email with permission. Stifle (talk) 08:13, 15 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello MLeb! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 405 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Georges Adwan - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Elie Kayrouz - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File permission problem with File:Arbet-kozhaya.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Arbet-kozhaya.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 12:13, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:19, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Arbet kozhaya.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Arbet kozhaya.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
