Great Wall map

edit

How are those pictures coming? About the vehicle clean up, how about this format? Tank, APC, Med. transport, and Light transport? I just think going from the most powerful to least powerful would be more practical left to right. If you don't think so, that's fine by me. I need to double check on the vehicle spawning, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate. If you want to link them go ahead.

I'm still working on the control points. I thought I would have got this done yesterday but it's taking a long time, and I just don't have it. If you see any typos, please fix them. Thanks. --Hellogoodsir 19:17, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good idea about the order, I couldn't think of I good order so I went with alphabetical. If you want to change it though, it'd porbably be a good idea to update the other pages, as well as the template. You need to list the vehicles that spawn if the other team controls the flag as well, like this: EU vehicle/Ch vehicle.
Taking great quality screenshots like I do takes quite a bit of effort, first I have to go into a game, record a demo, then stop it again. Go into BattleRecorder and record a camera track, pointing it at where I want the screenshot, set all my graphics settings to highest, render it to an AVI file, open it in VirtualDub, extract all the frames to a video file, take one I like and save it as a png. Like I said, takes ages, so I have to be in the mood, so far, I can't be bothered :p. --Lorian 19:45, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dalian Plant

edit

Just thought I'd let you know that I think you did a superb job editing the Dalian Plant article. I had a difficult time trying to clean things up myself, and I saw the vast improvements in detail/organization that you made. Great work. --Ubiq 12:16, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you :) I was trying to expand the article to add more information to make it less of a game guide and more encyclopedic. It seems to have gone down well. Now, there's just all the other articles to do... --Lorian 12:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Futurama

edit

Hello Lorian,

I noticed that you have recently edited articles to do with Futurama. I was wondering if you would like to join WikiProject Futurama. Please add your name to the participants list and drop a line on my talk page if your interested.

Cheers, --Jasrocks 07:27, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, count me in :) I notice there is no mention of Futurama/New article on the page, maybe that should be mentioned. If you don't know, it is an in progress rewrite of the Futurama article. Also, black on red, doesn't work. --LorianTC 08:20, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yer, knew about the new article.

What do you think the colours should be? --Jasrocks 08:32, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

How about the colours on here? --LorianTC 08:35, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

OK, changed the colours. If you would like to, you can create an open tasks list. I will only get time during the school holidays, as Im flat out at school at the moment. --Jasrocks 08:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anyways thanks for joining. Please keep advertising, have 3 tests 2morow :(. Cheers, --Jasrocks 09:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ugh, 3 test in one day, that sucks. I just finished my final exams on Friday, no more school for me :) Good luck. --LorianTC 09:08, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

George's replacement

edit

Why should there be an "official" replacement? There is no "rule book" that defines who and when a HM will be replaced in any circumstances. It is therefore a totally irrelevant comment that adds no value at all. IF there was a rule and IF by that rule George had not yet been replaced then it might be marginally more acceptable. But there isn't and so I am removing the pointless statement with a ref to this reasoning. --leaky_caldron 13:11, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

If a housemate walks, they will be replaced. That is what happens in Big Brother. George has not been replaced yet. --LorianTC 13:15, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

"If a housemate walks they will be replaced. That's what happens in Big Brother"[citation needed]. Show the evidence that confirms that is always the case. It is simply an editorial decision - not a rule --leaky_caldron 13:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

My bad, "Housemates leaving voluntarily or being asked to leave may be replaced at Big Brother's discretion." [1] Still, I think it's worth mentioning that he hasn't been replaced. --LorianTC 13:39, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
How about instead of "He was not replaced", we use "He has not been replaced"? There is still the possibility he will be replaced. We can change it to was at the end of the series, if he doesn't get replaced. --LorianTC 13:53, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just a note that logos can not be SVG, for copyright reasons (they are too high res) --9cds(talk) 18:55, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh right, I didn't know that. Oh well, at least I learnt how to make SVG files :). --LorianTC 19:04, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It appears you have done this with several channel logos, could you please revert them? --9cds(talk) 19:06, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Only 2 of the Channel 4 logos... Not sure where you got the "several channels" from... --LorianTC 19:57, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oops, my mistake, my apologes. (Several other logos were uploaded at a similar time) --9cds(talk) 19:59, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi

edit

Hi, I just came across this edit and I just wanted to remind you to comment on the content, not the contributor. Talking about contributors as 'annoying, I'm not sorry to see him leave' is not only a rotten thing to read if you're the person involved, but it also has a negative influence on the atmosphere here. You don't need to be friends with every single editor, but this is another extreme... --JoanneB 18:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please be civil

edit

Regarding this edit: The edit you just made on Ellisjm's talk page can be seen as incivil towards 9cds. Please refrain from making comments which are on the boundary of a personal attack. Additionally, you might like to know 9cds is female. --FireFox 18:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

FireFox's revert to my user talk page

edit

I would just like to point out this from Help:Talk page#Etiquette. "However, reverting such removals or redirects is not proper and may result in a block for edit warring." --LorianTC 19:08, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The situation is not the same to leaving you a message and not replying. I reverted your removal as administrators find it useful to view any recent past warnings for vandalism and/or incivility without having to search the page history for it. I am quite aware of the guidelines, and the "block for edit warring" comment is mainly directed towards continuous reverts of each other. --FireFox 19:13, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well then the guidelines aren't very clear. Anyway, I wasn't suggusting you be blocked, I was just pointing out that it shouldn't have been reverted per the guidelines. How long is recent defined as? I don't particularly want it on my talk page, I have already apologised for it. --LorianTC 19:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was ignoring all rules in a sense. Recent, well, as long as they are in a chronological archive (which they are), it doesn't really matter if you leave them here or not. --FireFox 19:20, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well I would rather only have actual conversation on my talk page/archives. How about I leave them for a few weeks then remove them? --LorianTC 19:24, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I would far prefer that you keep the comments, at least in your archive, as it is basic etiquette, but I won't stop you if you wish to remove them. --FireFox 19:26, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Could you point me to that etiquette? I can't find it... Thanks. --LorianTC 19:29, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's exactly the same as the link you gave me. Help:Talk page#Etiquette - If someone removes your comments without answering, consider moving on or dispute resolution. This is especially true for vandalism warnings. - same for warnings about incivility. --FireFox 19:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please also see Wikipedia:Removing warnings#Vandalism. Thanks, --FireFox 19:33, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't think there would be any issue with having the response in the edit summary and removing it, I didn't think there would be anything else to say after that. --LorianTC 19:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well as I said, it's basic etiquette to either leave comments alone, or move them to an archive. I don't see the issue here anymore as you have already put them in an archive. --FireFox 19:38, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
In other news, any particular reason why you changed my signature on the warning I issued you before? Thanks --FireFox 19:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I am a perfectionist I like everything formatted in my way, it's not really anything big, just changed '06 to 2006 (UTC) like usual. Which brings me onto the response to your other message, I like conversations on my talk page. --LorianTC 19:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

You may like things your way, but I'll tell you this. You should be careful changing other people's posts and signatures, some people can get really annoyed over it. So just beware for the future. --FireFox 19:47, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well it's my talk page, so I don't really see it as a problem, but I will keep that in mind. Anyway, thank you for your time. --LorianTC 19:51, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok :) As a sub-note, I just realised you're only 6 days older than me :) Anyway, see you around. --FireFox 19:55, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Heh, nice coincidence there. I would stay and chat, but Big Brother's about to start ;). See ya. --LorianTC 19:57, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually it's on late tonight. If you're in the UK that is. --FireFox 20:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just got an edit conflict of me saying the same thing. Know why it's changed? Also, I looked at the talk page guidelines and apparently this is how it's supposed to be laid out. Which is good, it was getting very long. --LorianTC 20:10, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm I've never used this kind of formatting before, but as you wish... BB is at 10 today because they are making room for Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares or whatever they're calling it. --FireFox 20:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Heh, it's Gordon Ramsay's F Word. I don't see why they didn't put it on after it, instead of pushing it back. --LorianTC 20:23, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well remember last week they put it in the middle of Big Brother, and sliced that up. They come up with the strangest ideas to get their ratings up. --FireFox 20:42, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think that was because of the football. Guess they think Gordon Ramsay's F Word is less important than Big Brother... Which is of course true ;). --LorianTC 20:47, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm fair enough. Who would want to watch an old man run around in a kitchen swearing all the time? The swearing is the 'star' of the show. It's stupid, lol. --FireFox 20:51, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I don't mind swearing, but constant swearing gets annoying quickly. --LorianTC 20:53, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I know what you mean. But it just gets rediculous when they decided to make a whole series on one word. --FireFox 20:55, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, though you have to admit that the ad that was on where he was destroying all the food was very funny. Man, this page is getting very long... --LorianTC 20:57, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Funny but weird, and probably a waste of money. Anyway, I am off now. See you around! (You might wanna archive the page). --FireFox 21:12, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, see ya! --LorianTC 21:25, 28 June 2006 (UTC) Reply
