A mathematician's welcome
editWelcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions to the mathematical portion of Wikipedia. I think you will find it useful to peruse the core policy pages (WP:NPOV, WP:NOR, and WP:V). It is especially important when editing mathematics to not utilize unpublished mathematics or rely on non-standard notations or presentations. Also, adding references, whenever possible, is encouraged (cf Wikipedia: Scientific citation guidelines).
Please also be aware that there are editorial guidelines for mathematics articles, Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(mathematics). I highly recommend at least skimming this before you create new articles.
As a mathematically inclined Wikipedian, some pages you may find useful are:
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mathematics/Current_activity -- see most recent math articles up for deletion, created, requested, requiring attention, etc.
- Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mathematics -- the place to ask for advice, comments, help, etc., from math-knowledgable Wikipedians. Feel free to comment on matters relating to math articles, including AFDs, disputes, POV-pushing, original research, etc.
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mathematics/Participants -- a list of a lot of the math contributors with notes on their expertise and background. Stop by and add yourself!
If you have any questions about Wikipedia editing, you can edit your talk page by adding {{helpme}} and a helpful Wikipedian will come along to answer them. --C S (Talk) 07:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
