License tagging for Image:PLC Crest.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:PLC Crest.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:05, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:PLC Crest.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 19:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Taracrest.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Taracrest.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ↔NMajdantalk 14:35, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Plcmainschool.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Plcmainschool.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ccwaters 14:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. —Moondyne 13:43, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

PSA Portal

I have noticed the work you have been doing on the members schools of the Public Schools Association, and was just informing you of the Portal:Public Schools Association - just thought you might be interested in joining. Thanks alot, Twenty Years 16:39, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey! im just rolling out a new PSA Portal Template - that you might want to take a look at - has some pretty cool stuff on it. Its made for welcoming new users - youve just been such a help on the school pages. {{PSA Portal}} Keep up the great work on the school pages! Twenty Years 01:59, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

DEFAULTSORT

Hello. Thanks for the school-sorting work you are doing. Two things really - first, I wonder if you could use an edit summary - other editors will find it really useful, secondly, and the reason I stopped by, I noticed this redundant edit, and thought I would point out to you the DEFAULTSORT magic word. You can more info here and here. Thanks. -- zzuuzz(talk) 14:13, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Revert on PLC

Simple answer is unintended changes, feel free to add this information back. If you're going to be making changes to school articles on a regular basis, i'd take a look at this article for a good idea of how these are structured. Also a call for help to some of the members of the PSA Portal would really help you out. Thewinchester (talk) 00:15, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for editing the BMGS page I recently created! I can see from your contributions page you've helped with heaps of high school pages so I think you deserve a barnstar! Thanks once again!-Wbchilds 11:02, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

His association with the school as unpalatable as it may be was widely reported at the time of the incident and it is referenced in the book which is referenced in the entry. Your errr... truncated description of the changes you made could be interpreted as being in bad faith (ie. you didn't add only a category Albatross2147 05:45, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I take all that back. The only reason I can give is my stupidity at not carefully clicking on the right editor link in the history page. There is no excuse however, for such carelessness. Sorry for wasting your time. Albatross2147 11:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

atamagaii_okashii

so sorry that you do not see my valid contributions to the page about my school as important as i see them. The History of Lowther is long and rich, I was merely adding to the richness of it, and it is true, the sick bay is also known as the "Barf House" and the school sports houses do have those nicknames. And, we do have another, lesser known verse of the School song. (It may interest you to know that we don't actually sing half of the verses listed on Wikipedia anyway) Thankyou for you time, and contribution to my school's page.

School Crests

Great team work between you and I in terms of Aussie School pages. Thanks. :) Steve Stefan 04:34, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Just a note that this addition of yours to Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview missed all this vandalism. Please make sure that when adding to a page you are not glossing over vandalism. Especially as you increase your reputation here, you need to live up to it. Just so the system works! Happy editing. Jpeob 06:54, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
