Hi, I saw your post on User talk:Yasht101. If you need any help at all, then feel free to ask me on my talk page. I am always there to help out new users. Keep in mind that it may take a day or two to get a reply from me. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:11, 10 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I m preparing a 5 step programme to see that you get complete knowledge of wikipedia. You'll be a perfect editor in the end. It is just for the editors who I have adopted. If you pass it (it'll last for 2 weeks), you'll get 5 barnstars in all!

So, this is the 1st assignment: User:Yasht101/Adoption1 I'll be watching your work. You've to complete it in 2 days so hurry up. Once you are done with it, please leave a message on my talk page. And i'll award you a barnstar. Yasht101 17:02, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

PS: Be sure that you have WP:TWINKLE installed. Yasht101 17:06, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re:Vandalism reverting

edit

I see that you have trouble in reverting the edits quickly. Even I faced it in the start. One thing is that BOTs only revert vandalism that has made a loss of -750 words from the article or have blanked one section. What is loss of -750 words? Here's an example:

In the page of recent changes, you can see something like this: (diff | hist) . . Tezz‎; 10:43 . . (-193)‎ . . ‎68.100.22.100 (talk)‎ (→‎Boxoffice: ) [rollback]

In this, a loss of only -193 words has occurred which can be seen in red color. This edit will not be reverted by a BOT as the amount of change is very less. Now this the time for you to shine. Only a recent change patroller will be able rollback it. Very few editors rollback edits which make a very less difference of words inspite of them being a vandal work. So, you have a chance here

From the example above, there is (diff | hist) Now always open diff from it in a new tab. Then see that is the edit a vandal one or not. If it is then revert it and warn the IP or newcomer. You have to do only 30 such edits to pass this step and I m sure that an editor like you can easily achieve it. If you still have trouble dealing with it, you can move on to step 2 and do step 1 in the end. Best, Yasht101 05:27, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

I have retired from wiki so wont be able to help you out. There is another user who is best in this bussiness, User:Bmusician. You can ask him to adopt you or be on your own. He teaches very nicely and better then me. Hope you don't mind. Yasht101 05:01, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks!

Thanks for spotting the vandalism; I have reverted it and blocked the user (a known long-term vandal). --TeaDrinker (talk) 19:22, 11 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

Hello LoganLopez! I see that your adopter, User:Yasht101, has retired, and that is terrible, but no worries! He has asked me to take over and I am willing to be your new adopter! I'll be happy to adopt you because I enjoy working with others – especially to help them become a better editor on Wikipedia!

Take a look at my edit history; I usually work at Articles for Deletion, Articles for Creation, in new page patrolling, and in vandalism-fighting. I have been an editor on Wikipedia for a year, and have made over 15,000 edits to the encyclopedia.

I'm usually available on Wikipedia from 0:00 - 5:00 and occasionally from 12:00-16:00 (all times UTC). I travel frequently, usually on business trips around the world. I'm so young, yet so busy.

If I adopt you, I promise I will provide you with the most friendly, easy, and convenient adoption service through my adoption school. But if you don't think I am the right adopter for you, that's okay – you have no obligation to accept, and I won't be in the least bit offended if you don't. If you think I am the right adopter for you, please let me know – then we shall get started! →Bmusician 01:56, 12 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Bmusician's adoption school!

edit

Welcome!

You are now a student at my adoption school. Your official adoption page is located at User:Bmusician/Adoption/LoganLopez.

In your first assignment (which I have already assigned to you) you will learn about the five pillars. Read the lesson carefully. After you're done reading the lesson, you will take a test about the lesson. You must answer all of the questions in the test adequately in order to move on to the next assignment.

After you've completed all required assignments, you will then take a final examination. If you pass the examination, you are permitted to either continue to study at the adoption school, or "graduate" from the school. (We'll talk about that when that time actually comes.) If you fail, however, you must stay at the adoption school until you finally pass an exam. Please note that you may leave the school at any time without graduating, but that means that you won't be awarded the "special barnstar" I give to my graduate students.

That's it; again I welcome you to my adoption school! Please leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions regarding the school. →Bmusician 09:15, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

I regret to tell you that I will no longer be active on Wikipedia, and due to that, I can no longer be your mentor. If you wish to continue to be under mentorship, please find someone else at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user/Adoptee's Area/Adopters. Regards, →Bmusician 07:52, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have stated that I will not see any of Bmusician's adoptees go without. Since his adoption course was based upon mine, I am in a unique position to carry it on. If you would like me to do so, please do let me know. WormTT(talk) 12:28, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi Logan. I've moved the course to User:Worm That Turned/Adopt/LoganLopez, let me know if you've got any questions on copyright, or if you'd like to carry on with the test! WormTT(talk) 09:33, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

PGP-Key

edit

Hello LoganLopez,
you tell us on your user-page that you have a PGP-key, but you don’t provide it. Could you please use a pgp-template with an ID-field (like Template:User PGP)? Also it would be great if you could send me your key-ID by wiki-mail or leave it on my talk-page. Thanks :-). --DaB. (talk) 14:02, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ah yes, I did include that userbox in there, but as you see I haven't had much success with PGP, as no one else within my friends/family would set it up. I haven't got the key signed and also I was worried that putting the key on Wikipedia might make my email susceptible to more spam than I already have. Have you noticed any increase in spam when you published your key?--LoganLopez (talk) 23:40, 22 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I published my key years ago so I can not tell if the level increased. But if you have put your key on a keyserver already (which is the normal thing to do), putting it also on Wikipedia should not increase the spam-level because the evil spam-sender could have already downloaded the address from the keyserver.
And yes, unfortunately most people (family, friends, colleagues) don’t use PGP, but it doesn’t hurt to offer it to people who does, doesn’t it? But it is your decision of course :-). --DaB. (talk) 13:59, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
You know what? I'm going to publish it. I have uploaded it to a keyserver now and also linked it with that template you suggested. So now you and anyone else can communicate securely with me :) --LoganLopez (talk) 01:29, 27 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Computer Security user status

edit

Hello LoganLopez,

I would just like to inquire on your status on WikiProject Computer Security as the list of WikiProject Computer Security/Members is going to be improved to list active and inactive users.

This is update is being done according to a request for comments on the WikiProject Computer Security talk page. Be sure to state your status at the User status section in the WikiProject Computer Security talk page before the end of four weeks as this will state your status as inactive in the project if not done before then.
