Straza question

edit

Greetings. I need the assistance of someone who knows Czech. Someone has claimed that the article on Straza (specifically this edit) is a copyright violation, because it is a machine translation of the text on [2]. Is the text on that page Czech? Can you verify that the one is simply a translation of the other? Thanks so much, – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 17:02, 24 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

On that page is nothing in czech. On bottom of page is part in german with structure very similar to english text in article, but I dont understand german. --Li-sung 17:59, 24 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Česko do toho

edit

I think it's important to keep "rather than Česko do toho" at the end of the sentence. If we don't have it, people will ask, "Why is it unusual for people to say, Češi do toho?" -- Mwalcoff 00:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

No. There is important they dont chant anything with Česko. it doesnt matter if it is "Česko!clap, clap", "Česko bojovat" or something similar. --Li-sung 09:04, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Slovaci reknou "Slovensko do toho," ne "Slovaci do toho." Etc. Tatu redirect page

edit

{{RFMF}} The page I want to mediate "Tatu" is locked in a redirect, so I put the request for mediation on the t.A.t.u. page because this is the page it is being redirected to. I cannot put it on the Tatu page because it is locked. Tatu is my name. One of your administrator shandis will not let me use my page Tatu.. The Russian rock group t.A.t.u. 's name is NOT Tatu it is t.A.T.u. I am appealing to let me have my Tatu page back with the disambiguation line at the top of the page like it was. So Am I now being denied mediation??????

Shandis made up a new page to put my content on without my permission. Tatu is my copyright name that I have used since the late 1980's... Please advise.

I just dont see any "appropriate discussion on the Request for Mediation page" as says template RFMF, so I removed the template. --Li-sung 21:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anna

edit

Hi, Li-sung! Could you, please, clarify what exactly do you mean by your comment you left in this edit's edit summary? I am specifically interested where and how the contents of Anna are out of compliance with the guidelines outlined at WP:DAB and WP:MOSDAB, where and how a "clear dab" is defined, and what its difference from dabs of other (which?) types is. Thanks.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 18:41, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Definition: disambiguations are paths leading to different topic pages that share essentially the same term in their title (Wikipedia:Disambiguation). I look for article about name Anna, and it IS on page Anna, so page Anna is not page leading to different topics, but one of the topic. And by the way, other Wikipedias have not similar page marked as disambiguation, so interwiki bots, that pair disambing to disambing and refuse links from nondisambing pages (on another Wikipedias) to english diasmbing, make confusion. --Li-sung 18:54, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your reply, Li-sung. The problems with interwiki bots you described are, however, due to inefficient programming, not due to the way English dab pages are formatted. The solution is to fix the bot, not to tweak the pages so bots work more efficiently (or correctly). As for the dab page definition (disambiguations are paths leading to different topic pages that share essentially the same term in their title), I just don't see how Anna does not fit. It starts with the names, then goes on to things, people, mentions Saint Anna, links to pseudonyms and fictional characters, refers to a location, and ends with groups and acronyms. All these numerous concepts are called "Anna", and the page disambiguates between them. If this page is not a disambiguation, then what is it? It certainly is not an article, wouldn't you agree? If there is a thing that needs to be removed, it's the list of people (per the do not add links that merely contain part of the page title (where there is no significant risk of confusion) clause of WP:DAB. The information about the name should probably be moved to Anna (name), or, alternatively, Anna should be purged of all information that is not related to the name proper, and all the disambiguation entries moved to Anna (disambiguation). One way or another, it'd be a better solution than just removing the dab notice and declaring the problem gone.
I'd appreciate your further comments.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 19:27, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Problem is in way how different Wikipedias think if similar article is article or disambing. Look at fr:Anne pl:Anna, they are articles about name and with list of people, but they have no template marking disambing. I found out that more name articles here is disambig, so moving to Anna (name) would need wider range action. As I am not much involved in english Wikipedia, I am not going to purge change in this case. I just made (for me) the most easy action to prevent changing interwiki links to wrong page. If you wish return the template. --Li-sung 19:43, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I didn't realize that you were not a regular here, or I wouldn't bombard you with local policies :) I'll add this article to my to-do list and split it into the name-related and disambiguation parts as time permits (I'll sort out the interwikis, too). Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 20:34, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I can upload them, but one more thing: Do you agree to release you images under licenses GFDL and Creative Commons CC-BY 2.5 ? --Li-sung 11:28, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sure, why not? :-)
Oh, for future reference can you tell me how to upload photos? I tried doing it myself and ran into lots of problems. I also don't understand how that legal permission stuff works.Piercetp 01:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I uploaded some images to commons:Category:Velvet Revolution. I just filled forms on page commons:Special:Upload. Maybe I dont understand it well, but I think legal permission stuff has nothing to do with images uploaded by author or with his public agreement. You can just choose license from dropdown box (for example Own work, atribution required - as I taged your images), and that is you permission. --Li-sung 15:46, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Menšiny

edit

Ahoj.

V budoucnu bych chtěl tenhle článek rozšířit o informace o romské a vietnamské menšině v ČR. :) - Darwinek 19:16, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I noticed that you are listed as running an interwiki bot here. If it is still active, and you are editing alphabetically, please visit WikiProject Interwiki, which I created as a project to coordinate the bots to decrease overlap. If you like the idea, sign up there and visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals#Interwiki to let me know you'll join up. You can also say that you're working on a section in User:ST47/WikiProject Interwiki/Assignments, then follow the directions there when you've finished. If the sections I've made are too large, feel free to split one up. Thanks! ST47Talk 11:43, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Very Honourable Li-sung,

May I ask you, please, to help me to fix the GeoTemplate Arabic page of Map sources/GeoHack:

  1. In fact, very Honourable Li-sung, the Arabic text must be aligned to the right (not to the left) on the Arabic page of Map sources/GeoHack. Would you mind to fix the text to the right. Thank you.
  2. Then, I want to change the letters [(N, S) of latNS and (E, W) of lonEW] to their Arabic equivalents using the #switch function, but with no success. So, would you mind also to help me fixing that --> you may switch N to North, S to South, E to East, and W to West (and I will change them to Arabic, later). Thank you.

While waiting for you favourable response, please accept very Honourable Li-sung, my profound respect. DrFO.Jr.Tn (talk) 15:42, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Czech Wikipedia

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Czech Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Czech Wikipedia (2 nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Li-sung! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 7 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag.
