Hi Lekogm. Welcome to wikipedia. I noticed your edit to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employes and I just wanted to let you know that the {{WikiProject Stagecraft}} tag should only be placed on the talk pages of articles. It's an internal reference, and shouldn't be in the article space. No big deal - just thought I would catch you before you went through the work of placing it on too many pages! Let me know if can be of any help, and again - welcome! --Bookandcoffee 01:47, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Seeing as how your name is what it is, would you happen to have a picture of a Leko or other lighting instruments? KeepOnTruckin 00:39, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Lekogm! Thank you for your kind note of encouragement! As you can probably see, I am new to Wikipedia and still trying to figure out what I'm doing. I'll try to keep your suggestion about including edit summaries in mind. When I get a chance I'll definitely check out the stage craft project. I'm working on a show right now and am very busy, but that sounds like it would definitely be right up my alley! KindSould 05:58, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey Lekogm. Thanks for the message and I'm glad to be here. Hope to make some contributions to the stagecraft project. Humhead 19:53, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Stagecraft tag/assessment/catagories

I was looking over the syntax of both the stagecraft tag and the filmmaking tag, which I think should be the go-to for setting ours up right. YOu were saying that you couldn't get the categories to be the same as the ones in the banner. First thing I noticed was that a alot of the noinclude/includeonly seemed to not have the slash at the end of the section which signifies the end of whatever thing it was. Being as how I am not amazingly good with templates, I went to the help section. See Wikipedia:Template FAQ. Then see m:Template:Help. That second one gets really complex, but it explains everything. So, *with self-proclaimed expert tone* I think that our problem is somthing involving the template syntax, or possibly involving substitution. I don't fully understand subst'd yet, but i'll continue to work on it. KeepOnTruckin 02:42, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

As long as it's fixed. KeepOnTruckin 19:12, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
You did a good job on maiking it all work out. I'll get right on the ball assessing articles. KeepOnTruckin 22:14, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Various Images you have uploaded

I was looking over some of your pictures, and I have a few questions. First, on the fixed pinrail image, I can't see what or where it is. I see the drop rollers and I see a ladder and some electrics. Now, since I don't have drop rollers or flyspace in my theater, i am not sure what it is in the picture. Next, on the radio mics photo. What a good idea with storing it in the shoe rack thing. We have always kept ours in flight cases and handed them out, requireing the A2 to be backstage to keep handing them around as we only have 10. Now I noticed that there is more than 15 mics there, We try to avoid using more than 7 at a time to avoid interference and feedback. Do you have those problems if you were to use them all at once? Now, I suppose if we bought better quality it would be better. And as a whole for the all the photos, you should add them to articles so that there is more pictures and they don't run a risk of being deleted. KeepOnTruckin 19:16, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I see. In my county the fire marshal has to come approve all drop rollers and we have to get some certified company to come install them and its a real pain. I have this show coming up right befroe thanksgiving where we have 3 full length drops and two tab drops...as I said no drop rollers so we have to bust out the trusty genie lift during intermission. The interference...well obviously we don't fade them up so high as to cause that, but audience memebers were saying they couldn't hear the people.I think we could have got on fine with the actors talking louder but it was a musical and the director had to have his mics. The thing was, mics that werent off but were faded down were transmitting sound, and we were hearing sound out of other mics. We chalked that up to having too many mics at once, which is what i was talking about. Ill put links to the images. KeepOnTruckin 22:01, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Kudos to You!

Wow! The Stagecraft Project Page looks great! I can see you've been very busy. I'm really impressed with the job you've done trying to organize this project. We are all very lucky to have a leader like you at the helm!

I created a Wardrobe Supervisor article, please take a look. I know that all my facts are acurate, but I'm having trouble finding "online" references which are exclusive to live performance. Everything seems to be film oriented. Damn Internet!

Thanks for all your hard work. You're doing a heck of a job rallying the troups!KindSould 06:42, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

WP:STAGE Terminology

I'd be glad to help with that page. "Terminology" is much better than jargon. I'm not sure about how to deal with sourcing though. Most of the terminology I know, I know because I've learned working in the industry. Not sure how this fits in with the No Original Research rules. Morydd 14:00, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Stagecraft Newsletter

The WikiProject Stagecraft Newsletter (October 2010)

The WikiProject Stagecraft Newsletter!
Issue 1 - July, 2010

Hello and welcome to this, the first ever edition of the WikiProject Stagecraft Newsletter! If you haven't been over to the WikiProject page lately then you're missing out - the whole thing has undergone a complete makeover - see below for more info!
On top of this, we have brand spanking new templates (such as this one) and a completely revamped Collaboration of the Month - again, see below for more info on all of this.
Finally, a warning - the new-look WikiProject is still having the finishing touches put on it. If you find something that doesn't work, you don't agree with or is just plain missing, please don't hesitate to let us know on the WikiProject's talk page. We'll try our very best to fix ASAP!

New Look

As mentioned above, the WikiProject has recently undergone a spring-clean and we're excited about it! If you don't mind - we'd like to take this opportunity to explain some of the features and generally show off about it a little.

  • Colour scheme All pages on the WikiProject now use two consistent shades of blue as part of the new streamlined interface (Those techies amongst us may wish to know that the precise names of the colours we use are: "lightblue" for headings and "#c0e0e0" for backgrounds).
  • Navigation Menu Every page on the WikiProject now has the official WikiProject navigation menu so you can easily flick between pages and get back to the main project page. Say goodbye to clicking the back button several times!
  • To Do list/Open Tasks If you're stuck on what to do to help us then a list of the most important tasks is now available on the main page. At the moment, the list is looking a little short so if you have found something that you think ought to be added, then feel free to edit the list and let us know. Please refrain from linking to a specific article that generally needs an overall update. Single articles like this should be nominated for a future Collaboration of The Month - see below.
Templates

All of the project's templates are now arranged in one handy page. Whilst we were going through we also noticed one was missing. We have now added the new template in the form of:

  • {{WPStagecraft Newsletter}} - the template containing the latest edition of the WikiProject Newsletter (you're looking at it now!)
Collaboration of the Month

Ok, so this isn't exactly a new feature. It's always been there but has never really been updated on a, ahem, monthly basis. The Collaboration of the Month (COTM) is now in template form to enable it to be streamlined across the Project, without having to be manually updated on each page. Don't worry if we've lost you at this point - the point is, it works! You can now nominate an article for COTM on the COTM page. The more sharp-eyed amongst you may well have noticed that the COTM at the moment is still that old fella, Stage lighting. That's because no-one has nominated a COTM for this month (being a new feature an' all...) so we've decided to leave it as it is for this month until a new one has been democratically voted for.

And finally...

Thanks very much for reading down this far - hopefully future newsletters won't be this long! Please, if you can, invite new members and drop us a line over at the talk page to let us know what you think of the new look/newsletter and any suggestions you may have.

You have received this newsletter because your name is on the list of Participants on the WikiProject page. Adrianne Wadewitz Memorial edit-a-thons

Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

The events are as follows:

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. List of IATSE locals

Hi, I saw you created the List_of_IATSE_locals page, and an editor has recently removed all external links, arguing it violates WP policy (see the Talk page.) I've shared my disagreement based on my limited understanding of the WP policies, but as you are the WikiProject Stagecraft creator and a knowledgeable editor, I thought you might be better positioned to argue this, or confirm its validity.
