Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited James Cahill (snooker player), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Holt (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Alt focus

Hi Lee, perhaps what we could do is focus on a classic tournament, like 1985 World Snooker Championship, where it's less likely to attract the edit warriors and the POV pushers. I know sourcing will be more challenging but it was an epic final, and at the very least could set the standard going forward. Let me know what you think, happy to help, especially if we can reduce the absurd and illegitimate reverting. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:27, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

I did actually look at improving that article. There's also an article on the blackball final, which is the only article on a specific snooker match (personally, I like the idea of there being a few more for the more recognisable ones. McManus/Hendry and Williams/Hendry at the Masters for instance.
It's something I'd look into, I did some work recently on 1979 UK Championship as I'm a big John Virgo fan, but the sourcing is indeed much harder. I do worry that giving up on trying to push through the MOS is like saying it's not important. It also causes issues with last year's event, which is pretty close to being FA nominatable, which I'd still like to nominate. Perhaps it would bring up the issues on a more public platform? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:38, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
Yes, there's always that, if you find a keen reviewer who knows MOS at FAC then they would point out all the shortcomings. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:40, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
I might just go ahead and do that. I don't think the changes are all that difficult, changing {{flagicon}} to {{flag}} or {{flagathlete}}, and potentially a fix of the table for the final is all that's been raised so far. At least it's last years article, and has significantly less eyes on it. I feel like if they were brought up at FA, there'd be a lot less ways of it being denied for changes.
I'll also get to work on the 1985 article. There was a documentary and all sorts on the championships. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:47, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
