hi.. you asked a question on my talk page.. well maybe i did and maybe i didn't. are you going to kill me? are you a "mohammedan"? Hellznrg 20:11, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yo L33thaxxor...! yeah i did recommend the nuking of mecca & medina, on the cartoons talk page, but someone removed it..! i'm not new to reading wikipedia, but i'm still green when trying to edit it!! so i have no idea why my comment was permenently irrecoverable.. :) anyways, i have asperger syndrome!! :) it's so cool & great...! unfortunately due to it, i can't get laid, so it does have its flip side. so anyways, you seem to be seriously confused! i think there are some userboxes that say "this user is not confused"... well maybe you can also find one that says "this user is seriously confused!" :D sorry i'm only joking! :) do you like MY user page!!! i didn't have nearly enough time, so there are more userboxes i want to put in...!

anyways, back to mecca & medina... (the al aqsa mosque should also be bombed, but with conventional nukes... this is because we don't want any fallout on dear old israel do we...! :) i dunno about you, but i don't think jews are as evil as many claim...

anyways, with the three main pillars of islam toppled, what is left of their religion... when they realize that their god either doesn't exist or doesn't give a shiatsu massage, finally then they will see the light and become atheists... or god willing they will suicide bomb themselves or something... Jazakallahu Khayran and thank you for the barnstar. I apologize for the delayed response (I am unable to edit Wikipedia on weekdays during the daytime). The reason why I asked is because 3Jane also identifies herself as a FreeBSD user (not many women use it), Lipstick lesbian, Firefox User and Evil. Of course, 3Jane doesn't have conflicting Userboxes. Wikipedia:Wikiethics

edit

Hi,

We started a proposal Wikipedia:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.

Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.

Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.

If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Wikipedia:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...

Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 21:46, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's a matter of dispute. Israel regards Jerusalem as the capital, but most countries have their embassies in Tel Aviv, because Jerusalem is partly occupied territory. See Positions on Jerusalem. Cheers, David Sneek 06:05, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi:

I've been in hiding for a long time cuz the government is out to get me...but anyways, the reason I linked to your page was because your page had so many userboxes and I would like to make a note to myself to look to your page as a template for my page (which as you can see are crammed full of userboxes). I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove user boxes.

Peace out.

I am glad you liked it. Though, I would reccomend the more current version. :) --Cat out 00:32, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi:
But the current one doesn't have as many userboxes. :-(
I wonder if they still have the G.O.P. userbox.

It actualy has more userboxes. Notice a [Show] link next to "Click to show other userboxes".
What is a G.O.P. userbox?

Hi:
I see...cool.
G.O.P. = Grand Old Party = Republican Party.

I think political/religious userboxes are not welcome on wikipedia as per somewhat recent policy. --Cat out 00:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi:
Yeah, but political userbox can still be found in user spaces.
IMHO the political userboxes are more "interesting". :-)
L33th4x0r 04:09, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I wasn't a participant of the userbox/politics debate. I might have made a comment or two. I am not an admin and even if I were an admin this is an area I wouldn't care about. There simply are admin tasks at higher priority IMHO. All I am saying is people might complain in the future.

Konichiwa:
I checked out your fold-out userbox frame and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cool!
How did you do that??? With the collapsible in-line frame and all?
It seems that you also have a political userbox:
"all dicks should be circumcised" with a picture of Cheney beside it, obviously you're expressing political message there, no?
L33th4x0r 04:17, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
The code to achieve that is in User:Cool Cat/Userboxes. Feel free to copy that to User:L33th4x0r/Userboxes or something.
Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much, definitely very helpful. However, the code in your User:Cool Cat/Userboxes space isn't showing any userboxes. L33th4x0r 20:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have nothing for or against Cheney (hey, he is not my leader). It is just that his name is "Dick" and we have a thing on meta called m:dick. I just needed a picture w/o copyright problems... I also didn't want to use an actual dick picture either.
--Cat out 12:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hehehe...that's funny, you can actually use the penis pictures they have on the penis page, those are GPLed.
Yea but people would complain about it. --Cat out 14:05, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Is it posible for you not to start a new section when posting something on my talk page? :)
--Cat out 12:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry, I just keep hitting that "add a new post" link on your page without knowing that you don't like people opening new sections. L33th4x0r 20:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I like new sections when people start the conversation. I can see how that link may lead to confusion. I'll modify the text. --Cat out 14:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed Children's English Wikipedia

edit

There is currently a request for a Children's English Wikipedia at meta. The difference between the English Wikipedia and the proposed one is that this wiki is quite complicated and talks a lot about boring stuff. You can vote and find out more about the request at the request page.

You have got this message because you are categorized as a child Wikipedian. If you have been categorized incorrectly, I suggest that you remove the code that does that and I appologize for any inconvenience caused. --Leon2323

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Drive2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image:Drive3.jpg

edit

Image:Drive3.jpg is improperly tagged as public domain, though it contains elements (icons) which are most certainly not in the public domain. Please do something about this, per Wikipedia:Image use policy; preferably requesting its speedy deletion, as I can't see how this can fall under WP:FU. 24.76.169.85 (talk) 06:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re. LVM

edit

You asked whether LVM would allow you to have 10 separate Linux installations on a single hard drive. That's certainly possible, but I must warn you: it's not very easy. The way to go about it is as follows:
1. First, use a live distribution to allocate some disk space;
- the first partition on the disk should be a primary partition and should be 250MB-1GB in size if you want to use 10 modern-day Linux distributions. This partition will hold the boot loader configuration and distribution kernels.
- the second partition should fill the rest of the available space, as it will be used for LVM.
2. Second, set up LVM on the large partition: pvcreate /dev/sda2
3. Now create a volume group: vgcreate MyVolumeGroup /dev/sda2 && vgchange -a y
4. Section the volume group into partitions used for each Linux installation. You can either use one big partition for each installation, or multiple small ones. For 10 installations, with one large partition per installation:

for i in `seq 0 9`; do lvcreate --name "linux${i}" -l 10%VG MyVolumeGroup; done

5. If the above went alright, proceed to create file systems on all of these partitions. You should google around to find more information on choosing file systems. The data partitions are found at /dev/MyVolumeGroup/linuxN if you used the above example. The boot partition should also get a file system, ideally a non-journalled one such as ext2.
6. Create a temporary mountpoint and mount the boot partition, keeping in mind that the mount point name should be "boot": mkdir -p /mnt/temp/boot ; mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/temp/boot
7. Install grub to the MBR with the configuration files in the boot partition: grub-install --root-directory /mnt/temp /dev/sda
8. Unmount the boot partition: sync ; umount /mnt/temp/boot
9. The system is now prepared for the installation of each distribution, but the actual procedure depends largely on the distros' installation procedures. It will almost certainly require a lot of manual tweaking of options. You should make sure of the following for each installation:
9.1. No boot loader should be installed (we just did that!)
9.2. The distribution should install to one of the logical volumes and must leave the other partitions alone.
10. Now the fun really begins: asserting each installation can actually boot. Again, pop in your favourite live CD, and make a mount point, which we will recycle, for the distro you're going to work on, as well as one for the boot partition: mkdir /mnt/linuxdrive /mnt/bootpartition
11. Mount the boot partition: mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/bootpartition
12. Mount the distribution you're going to work on: mount /dev/MyVolumeGroup/linuxN /mnt/linuxdrive
13. Copy the kernel and initrd files from the distribution's /boot to /mnt/bootpartition.
14. Edit the /etc/fstab for the distribution so that /dev/sda1 is mounted at /boot.
15. This step is crucial and difficult: you must edit or create an initrd (initial RAM disk) for the distribution. Please google this one, as I don't know a lot about it. The initrd should mount the logical volume and use it as the root partition.
16. Add a line to /mnt/bootpartition/grub/menu.lst for the distro's kernel, e.g. something like this:

title=MyDistro 0.1
    kernel /kernel-MyDistro-2.6.29-0001 root=/initrd-MyDistro real-root=/dev/MyVolumeGroup/linuxN
    initrd /initrd-MyDistro

17. Sync and unmount the distro's file system: sync ; umount /mnt/linuxdrive
18. Go back to step 12 for the next distro.

Hope that helps at least a bit :). --Link (tcm) 07:46, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi L33th4x0r!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! License tagging for File:Unknown wlan0.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Unknown wlan0.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
