Audio samples

Hey Kyle. Do you know how to upload audio samples? Thanks. – zmbro (talk) 19:30, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Zmbro Use the file upload wizard to put any audio samples up and try to have them as reduced quality from the original, plus provide the proper info for free use; see this file that I uploaded for an example! --K. Peake 19:43, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Perfect thanks Kyle! – zmbro (talk) 23:22, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Kids See Ghosts FAC

Hello again. Apologies for this random message. I just wanted to say best of luck with the FAC. I am happy that it has already received a great deal of support. The use of the audio sample is justified as it at least discusses the song's sound (i.e. the psychedelic bit). I only brings this up again as I noticed a recent reviewer for that FAC mentioned non-free film concerns in the past FAC reviews so I wanted to clear the air about that. I will probably not do a review for the FAC, but I wanted to congratulate you on your work with the article and I am happy that you have continued to pursue it on a FA-level. Aoba47 (talk) 02:58, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Aoba47 Thank you for the message and I understand if you do not wish to comment on the actual FAC, as it is your decision how much to really get involved. I am happy about the support and see the article reaching FA-status soon, also your somewhat satisfaction with the audio sample is quite relieving to hear after the first two FACs! --K. Peake 07:41, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
  • I hope that my message did not come across as rude as I do genuinely admire your work on this article (and on Wikipedia in general). I know from my own experience that FACs can be frustrating so I am happy that you did not give up on the article and I also see it getting it promoted to FA status in the near future. Aoba47 (talk) 17:38, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Question

Hey, Kyle. I've noticed that Shoot for the Stars appears to have retired from Wikipedia. It seemed you two were close so I'm not sure if you've kept in contact with him outside of WP. Is he actually retired? Giacobbe talk 12:52, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

(CA)Giacobbe I have been in contact with the user outside of Wikipedia, but haven't messaged them at any time since they announced their departure. Judging from the context though, I doubt it is permanent since the user did it as soon as a FAC was unsuccessful and he has done that on multiple occasions before. --K. Peake 13:58, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
Good to know. He took on an article I nominated. I'm unsure whether or not to relist it. How long does he typically "retire" for? Giacobbe talk 14:51, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
(CA)Giacobbe Tends to be roughly a week, but the user often leaves reviews open for a while before starting then either way so I could fill in the template and take it on instead maybe? --K. Peake 17:35, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
I'd appreciate that if it's not too much trouble, but I don't want you to overwork yourself. Giacobbe talk 17:52, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
No that won't happen; the article is quite short, so this is fine. --K. Peake 18:40, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Request

Hey, I hope you're doing well. I was just wondering if you might consider leaving some comments at my current FAC. I see you like to do GA reviews a lot and I think your comments would be very helpful to the article. Thanks for your time, Heartfox (talk) 08:52, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

I will try to get round to it later today after work, not only to review more content but also to repay you for the comments at my FAC! --K. Peake 09:17, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Good article nomination review for Automatic (Red Velvet song)

Hi Kyle! It's been a while, right? We're just exchanging emails and now I'm back from editing articles to make it nominated on "GA"! Maybe you're interested in reviewing Automatic (Red Velvet song). I know you're very busy considering you have a lot of things to do personally besides Wikipedia. You can check it out and review the article if you're interested. Thank you once again! :) ReVeluv02 (talk) 05:55, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

ReVeluv02 I did spot that article on the nominations page yesterday and clicked on the user page to see who the nominator was, not recognizing you at first until I saw the list of GAs. Looking at the article, I'm thinking I might review it but if so, this will happen at least two days from now when I have time off work. Getting this talk message from you has actually reminded me to reply to your email, which I will do right now! --K. Peake 06:07, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
Kyle Peake No worries~ thank you once again! I hope to collaborate with you once again regarding these matters~ Anyway, thank you for helping a lot of the articles I nominate get into "GA". Oh one thing, there was this article which was "Future (Red Velvet song)" that is nominated for deletion. You were the one who made that article into "GA". Maybe you can also share your thoughts on the deletion nomination page. Thank you once again~ ReVeluv02 (talk) 06:17, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
ReVeluv02 I have now expressed my opinion, with reasoning. --K. Peake 08:41, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Gog the Mild (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:07, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

  The Editor's Barnstar
Congratulations! You got Kids See Ghosts up to featured article status. It's wasn't easy but you finally got it. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 05:18, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
TheAmazingPeanuts Thanks a lot for this barnstar, I am feel very proud of having promoted the article to FA status after having worked on it tirelessly for months and gone through three FACs! --K. Peake 07:15, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

Congratulations

  The Featured Article Medal
By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". Gog the Mild (talk) 09:51, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Gog the Mild Thank you so much for giving me this barnstar exclusively; it means the world to me having brought an article to FA-class and I hope to do so with more of them in the future! At this point in time, any praise feels justified even though I've got more than one barnstar. --K. Peake 14:06, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Getting an article to FA is a very tough ask, and having done so is deserving of a lot of praise. Well done, and I look forward to seeing more from you. Gog the Mild (talk) 14:13, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

  The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Hey Kyle! I didn't realize this until now but I wanted to say a huge congratulations on getting Kids See Ghosts to FA! Very well deserved. LOVI33 19:25, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
LOVI33 Thank you a ton for the barnstar; this is the fourth consecutive talk page message I've received about the FA status and in all honesty, I couldn't feel any prouder of myself! --K. Peake 20:34, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Donda

Putting this here as a placeholder so we're ready to discuss it on Friday ;-) – zmbro (talk) 20:46, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

Zmbro I will be willing and happy to discuss the album when it releases, shame about the delay isn't it? --K. Peake 09:58, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) I'm not surprised by this at all. Kanye West have a history of delaying his albums. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 10:11, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Yeah I had a feeling it would be too. He really has been very last minute for many years now. Hopefully it's worth it. – zmbro (talk) 21:39, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro Let's hope so, maybe the delay is so he can fix it like he did with TLOP but this time it's prior to release. Also, are you glad to see how much I've expanded "Heartless"? --K. Peake 09:26, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
Yeah man! Are you close to finishing all of 808s? – zmbro (talk) 14:10, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro Yes I am, just need to finish "RoboCop" and update "Amazing" since it passed as a GA two years ago. Jesus Is King is a future GT for me but I will need help working on the film article, could you step up? --K. Peake 21:25, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
If I'm being honest probably not. As I've mentioned before I'm not the biggest fan of JiK and I'm still wanting to do more Bowie stuff. I've also been sidetracked more recently with Oasis and Arctic Monkeys so I'm still a bit preoccupied. Sorry man! – zmbro (talk) 15:20, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

At this point, I think Kanye should stop announcing albums in advance; he should pull a Taylor or Beyonce and surprise drop it with no announcement (or Eminem in recent years). Love the guy but this waiting constantly is really getting annoying, idk about you. – zmbro (talk) 19:55, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Zmbro Totally agree, I'm getting fed up of waiting for dates and being disappointed with no music. West's material is great but as a man, not so much right now... keep the placeholder to discuss at the release time, which I'm not going to jinx by predicting. --K. Peake 07:21, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
Here we go again...zmbro (talk) 16:33, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro That's five days after I get back from my holiday, hopefully he follows through! --K. Peake 17:02, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
Yeah hopefully; tired of waiting. Enjoy your trip! – zmbro (talk) 17:06, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

WP:TPC

Hi Kyle, long time no talk. Hope you are well. :) Belated congratulations on getting Kids See Ghosts to FA. Well deserved! I noticed that you are eligible for the Standard Triple Crown which requires you to have one featured content, one GA, and one DYK with at least 25% authorship attribution for each of these. You can nominate yourself at WP:CROWN/NOM by following the outlined instructions. Hope you have a great day. --Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 16:48, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Ashleyyoursmile Thank you for making me aware of this award, I have nominated myself now! --K. Peake 05:21, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Triple Crown

Congratulation to Kyle Peake, who is hereby awarded the Triple Crown for their outstanding contributions to Wikipedia. Keep up the great work! Damien Linnane (talk) 08:56, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
Damien Linnane Thank you very much for the award, though I moved it to the appropriate position on this page! --K. Peake 08:58, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
You're welcome, and no worries haha, you can position it however. To be honest I'm not sure why I always put it on the right side, just a force of habit I guess. :) Damien Linnane (talk) 09:02, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Tell the Vision

Did you know Kanye West did was featured on a Pop Smoke song? I just created the article "Tell the Vision". Since you are a big fan of Kanye and I am a big fan of Pop; I was wondering if you would want to bring the article to GA together? You know I'm shooting for the stars, aiming for the moon 💫 (talk) 07:47, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Shoot for the Stars Yes I did hear about this actually, good to see you have returned to Wiki and I will work on the article after I've finished "Diamonds from Sierra Leone"; make sure not to get carried away yourself so I still have work to contribute for a co-nom. --K. Peake 20:15, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
I have already added all the info I could find. I will let you work on the rest and improve the grammar. Also, the two month break I took was really needed as I was getting ready for school and hanging out with my friends who are moving out of my home states. One of my really good friends is leaving the United States for five years to go to school. You know I'm shooting for the stars, aiming for the moon 💫 (talk) 08:32, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Shoot for the Stars Best of luck to your friends with leaving the US and hopefully you're refreshed after the break, also I'll go over the article's prose and sourcing sometime while probably adding an image or so. --K. Peake 09:53, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Unfortunately, Shoot for the Stars got blocked indefinitely for disruptive editing. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 06:18, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
TheAmazingPeanuts I did hear about this recently too sadly, though I have the opportunity to rescue the article but it will instead solely be nominated by me if so! --K. Peake 08:16, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
What was your opinion on SftS? I've had my personal gripes with them ever since they joined WP but I'm wondering what you think. – zmbro (talk) 16:59, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
Zmbro In all honesty, I will comment that as someone who has contacted the user both on Wiki and outside of it, they are nice with good intentions but just lack proper understanding of guidelines. --K. Peake 20:23, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
That is totally respectable. I can't recall if we ever communicated directly but I do know they caused me a lot of annoyances over the years, whether it be images they added as Beatleswillneverdie or other things, it did seem like they had good intentions. However, they did appear to be very unstable at times in regards to the feedback they received, and on top of that failing to follow rules...that's unfortunately what happens. – zmbro (talk) 20:27, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
@Zmbro: The editor is pretty good at getting some articles to good article status, but I don't get the point of adding poor quality images (especially mugshots) in those hip hop articles. Which is the reason why I report them at WP:ANI in the first place. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 23:34, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Diamonds from Sierra Leone, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Browne.

(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

DYK for RoboCop (song)

On 20 August 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article RoboCop (song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Kanye West recorded a music video for "RoboCop" that casts his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose as a robot? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/RoboCop (song). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, RoboCop (song)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
