Speedy deletion nomination of Wu Sien

edit

A tag has been placed on Wu Sien requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Merlion  444  08:16, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Problems with your articles

edit

Wikipedia articles need sources, please read WP:RS and WP:Verify. I am having serious problems showing that Wu Sien ever existed and am considering taking this to a deletion discussion. Can you please provide some sources (preferably but not necessarily in English, but they do need to be accessible somewhere, have enough details to find them, and that includes page numbers). I have nominated Wu Sien, an article that you created, for deletion. Yue kong

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Yue kong, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.regenttour.com/china/martial/shaolin/MonkYueKong.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Once again you have violated our copyright policy. You are also creating articles with no sources - please see WP:RS and WP:VERIFY. A possibly larger problem is that you aren't responding here. As another Administrator recently told an editor, "we expect all editors to engage with their peers. This means replying to their concerns, discussing edits when necessary on article- and user-talk pages, using edit-summaries, and generally making it easy for other editors to understand why you've done what you've done. This is absolutely fundamental to the collaborative process of building Wikipedia, and editors who continually fail to communicate in a meaningful way are eventually blocked." If you don't respond I'll have to assume either you aren't interested or that you don't speak English (and as this is the English language Wikipedia we need to be able to communicate with you in English and you need to be able to read our policies and guidelines). I don't want to see you blocked, but you need to respond. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 12:23, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Dongwu.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 11:10, 15 March 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 11:10, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you.

You are not using edit summaries and you really need to if you don't want your edits removed. You also are not communicating on your talk page. Wikipedia is a collaborative activity and we expect all editors to engage with their peers. This means replying to their concerns, discussing edits when necessary on article- and user-talk pages, using edit-summaries, and generally making it easy for other editors to understand why you've done what you've done. File source problem with File:Dongwu123.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Dongwu123.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:44, 15 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 17:44, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your edits

edit

You are supposed to use edit summaries. If you don't know what these are, just ask. Information you add needs to be WP:Verifiable, that means readers need to be able to check your sources. But you don't add you sources.

Given the above, and your failure to communicate, I see no reason not to revert your edits if they don't meet our guidelines. Dougweller (talk) 12:46, 19 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am really pleased that you replied, I don't want to be harsh but needed to see if you were happy about working with other editors. If you click on the history tab at the top of your screen you'll see the edit history of the article. - date, who edited it, the section heading if they edited a section, and then hopefully but not always an edit summary. Click on this: WP:Edit summaries to learn what they are. It's the field right under the window where I am typing. If you want help learning how to cite sources I can help with that too, but probably not until Sunday. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 15:16, 19 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of William Halimun

edit

A tag has been placed on William Halimun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:51, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

More information

Hi. Can you please specify on what pages of The Cambridge history of China: The Ming dynasty, 1368-1644, Part 1 by Frederick W. Mote, Denis Twitchett, John King Fairbank there is discussion of Zhu Benli? I do not see him in that book. I also checked reference there to Ming Pingzong but did not find anything. Perhaps I've missed the page. Or is he perhaps discussed there under a different name? (If so, it may be better to list the article under that name. Articles on Wikipedia are titled under their must common name in English, and there does not seem to be any reference to be found on Zhu Benli in google books or google scholar.) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:05, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, i have mistaken in stating the source, the actual source is from zh.wiki.x.io/zh-hans/定武帝. Can i just put that link into the article's reference ?Kungkang (talk) 02:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

No, I'm sorry, but that is not a reliable source. It seems part of the article you've contributed here may be a direct translation of that article; if so, you do need to give credit, since that content is copyrighted. Please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, specifically the section on copying from other language projects. Since he is not mentioned in this reference, I'll remove it from the article. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:43, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is definitely something wrong here. See Zhu Youlang, Prince of Gui which says he was the last emperor of the Southern Ming. And the link I gave above, [1], says the Yongli claimant was the last pretender, which confirms the Zhu Youlang article. Dougweller (talk) 05:36, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Moonriddengirl, that is not direct translation, i do take information from zh.wiki.x.io/zh-hans/定武帝 and also some research from googling, then from chinaforumhistory.com too... and there is also some reference stating at zh.wiki.x.io/zh-hans/定武帝, we can take it as reference, you are so rushly to make a deletion. Kungkang (talk) 16:19, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I did not delete the article; it was deleted by an another administrator on the basis of this deletion debate. I can say based on that deletion debate that an article on this subject is not likely to succeed unless you are able to cite multiple reliable sources. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:53, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dougweller, there is many imperial princes claim to be emperor, and the last one is Zhu Benli, Prince of Han. He is the last imperial prince that fight for Ming, and one more, they are not pretenders, they not fight together, because each imperial prince want to be emperor themselves. I also contributed writing in Zhu Youlang, Prince of Gui article, how can you are the one who know the most about what is definitely wrong or not ? Kungkang (talk) 16:19, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not me, we go by the sources. No clearly reliable sources means no article, sorry. It doesn't mean someone is wrong or right, you simply have to have the sources for the article. There are a lot of English language sources on this era and the Southern Ming, and they don't seem to mention him but some mention the Prince of Gui. Don't take this personally, it's just the way Wikipedia works. Dougweller (talk) 17:01, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Samuel Kwok, Johan Tjongiran & Suwanto Lim.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Samuel Kwok, Johan Tjongiran & Suwanto Lim.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Speedy deletion nomination of Ameri Ichinose

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ameri Ichinose requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. File:Temple of Hong.jpg missing description details

edit
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

File permission problem with File:Temple of Hong.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Temple of Hong.jpg, which you've attributed to http://history.cultural-china.com/en/47H2663H7699.html. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:59, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hary tanoesoedibjo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MNC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Anindya Bakrie moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Anindya Bakrie, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 1292simon (talk) 22:26, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of PT Gayamakmur Lestari

edit

The article PT Gayamakmur Lestari has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It is not clear that this company even exists, and at any rate there is no evidence its existence was ever meaningful. The company shows no active web presence or usable references. While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
