Vandals

It sure was. I've warned him with {{MultipleIPs}}, and he seems to have stopped. But if you see him again, tell me, ok? Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 03:58, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

There are a ton of warning templates. The chart at Template talk:Test might help you to choose which one you want... there's {{blanking2}}, {{blanking3}}, {{blanking4}}... Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 04:14, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your votes

edit

I'm very sorry about thast but there was an edit conflict (well, about 6) and I just pasted your votes onto my revision (as I had fixed Dakotas votes too). Feel free to move them back if you want - I don't mind where my votes are :). Again, sorry! --Celestianpower háblame 12:33, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hello, fellow Esperanzians! This is just a friendly reminder that elections for Administrator General and two advisory council positions have just begun. Voting will last until Friday, December 30, so make sure you exercise your right to vote! Also, I'm pleased to announce the creation of the Esperanza mailing list. I urge all members to join; see Wikipedia:Esperanza/Contact for more information. All you need to do is email me and I will activate your account. This will be a great way to relax, stay in touch, and hear important announcements. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?)

This message was delivered to all Esperanza members by our acting messenger, Redvers. If you do not wish to receive further messages, please list yourself at WP:ESP/S. Thanks.

I have ascended into adminship, thanks to the support of you and 63 others. Thank you. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 06:15, Dec. 17, 2005

Thanks for voting on my RfA! The final result was (36/1/1), so I'm now an administrator! Shanel 07:01, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Page protection should generally be a last resort. There are indeed a handful of IPs attacking this page right now. I'll watch it for the next while, and see if I can fend them off with some blocks. If that fails, I'll protect it. Owen× 23:39, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for voting in my recent RfA. I was overwhelmed at the turnout and comments received.

I was on my way. :-D

Hi, about the article, Access Virus, I couldn't find anything so I was just on my way to revert the deletion I made. Sorry if what I did was wrong, If I just suspect a copy vio, I delete, then do a lengthy search If I can not find anything I revert back. So again sorry if that is the wrong way to handle copy vio's or suspected ones. And thanks for reverting, in this case I was wrong. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 21:07, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Personally I just leave stuff in while I check it out... it being there for a few minutes does no harm.
I reckon it's a copyvio from a book, but without evidence, not much we can do. And who knows, maybe the anon did write it himself! Dan100 (Talk) 21:10, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for you comments about my RFA. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, I commented on the Randy Orton situation. :-D — Moe ε 23:53, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Why can't I edit pages

edit

I'm trying to edit the encyclopedia but they keep changing it on me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.223.40.215 (talkcontribs)

Ok...

edit

Alright here's the deal, everytime I try to make a correction to the encyclopedia. They keep changing it to the previous way it was before and then sending me threatening messages. How do I edit it without anyone changing it or messaging me? 64.223.40.215 08:52, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Lol

edit

Yeah, delete it. lol. Hey, wanna know whay Ive also been scarce? Ive been working laborously on the Céline Dion article, trying to get it to Featured status. Its now in the voting stage (Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Céline Dion), and so far, things are looking up. There's just one oppose, and unfortunately, unlike RFAs, if this objection isn't resloved, the article may not be promoted (damn!). Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 21:48, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I think the Celine Dion article is exceptional. I removed that comment from here :-D. To elaborate on my wikibreak, I was going to sleep at night thinking about Wikipedia lol, honestly it was because I was neglecting my RL obligations. So I had a few things I had to focus on besides Wikipedia. BTW do you have your email set up? KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 22:09, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Yep, my e-mail is set up, feel free to mail. You went to bed thinking of Wikipedia? I thought I was the only one! I also think about it in class and at work (pathetic isnt it?). I also tried to take a break (3 times), but was drawn back to the project →Im serious when I say Wikipedia sends subliminal messages. By the way, thanks for the vote on the RFC, very appreciated. Hopefully everything is worked out and it is promoted, 'cause Ive worked hard. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 21:04, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

No problem. My suggestion is to just bring sources of what the critics say, so we can include them as footnotes, and we can just use their quotes, rather than making it Wikipedia's stance. ;-) -- Natalinasmpf 18:50, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, the priorities for referencing would be quotes from people who have articles about themselves as well (ie. some notable critic), then some reviewer from notable sites, first. The references provided ie. "(Geffen, 1994)" should be in the footnotes section, with ISBN number listed, if possible. That's a good place to start. Oh, I made just one more revision, which will have to be updated, it's preferable if we omit the "many critics" and list each of the critics with their comments individually. That would not only make the article longer, but seem more solid! ;-) -- Natalinasmpf 19:15, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I've provided an example for the footnotes. Quotes usually should be one or two sentences long, in keeping with the context. I can help you with other sources, if needed. Good luck with the article! -- Natalinasmpf 19:53, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Oh, okay. I was telling my parents how much vandalism Wikipedia get. Like the Tea article last night. Why do people do such stuff? Anyway...yes, I DID check out the Jim Brickman article...it's cool that he went to CIM. I think I had a friend who might have mentioned him, but I'm not sure.--ViolinGirl 16:42, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

RfA thanks from Deathphoenix

edit

Hi KoS,

I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in my RfA and for your offer of congratulations. To tell you the truth, I was surprised by all the support I've gotten. I never saw myself as more than an occasional Wiki-hobbyist.

My wife sends her curses, as Wikipedia will likely suck up more of my time. She jokingly (I think) said she was tempted to log on to Wikipedia just to vote Oppose and let everyone know that she didn't want her husband to be an admin.

I'll make sure your trust in me is founded. --Deathphoenix 14:16, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! :)

Thanks for voting for me in the Esperanza elections. I've been appointed to the Advisory Committee, thanks to your show of confidence in me. I'll do my best to make you proud, but please feel free to ask me for help at any time or to give me tips as to what you would like to do. Thanks for being an active member of Esperanza! Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia 03:21, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
