WP:TIMETRACE

edit

Hello, I wonder if you could, while editing diverse articles, check if they have sources in their history or chronology (or when they mention any important date. If they don't, could you please place inline {{Timefact}} calls where those citations to sources are missing, this will display [chronology citation needed]. If you find an article with too many inline calls to place or totally lacking needed history of the subject, you can instead place {{histrefm}} at the footnotes of the article's main page, just before Categories. If you could add this to your routines, it will most certainly help WP:TIMETRACE. Thank you for your help. Daoken 06:45, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

RecirculatingBall.png

edit

Hi Kivaan! Nice picture, but I'd like to suggest that you change the label "Recirculating Ball Bearings". You see, although a lot of people keep referring to steel balls as "ball bearings", this is technically incorrect. A bearing is a mechanical device for a kinematic connection, and a bearing ball used in a rolling-element bearing is only a part of the whole and should not be called a "bearing" by itself. How about just "Recirculating Balls"? Best regards --BjKa (talk) 09:09, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Upcoming Wikimedia events in Missouri and Kansas!

edit

You're invited to 3 exciting events Wikipedians are planning in your region this June—a tour and meetup at the National Archives in Kansas City, and Wiknics in Wichita and St. Louis:

Kansas City
Saturday, June 16, starting at 9 a.m.National Archives in Kansas City
  • This full-day event will include a tour of the facility; presentations from National Archives Wikipedian-in-Residence, Dominic McDevitt-Parks, and Exhibit Specialist, Dee Harris; and time in the research room to work on projects. The focus of the projects will be scanning, writing articles, transcribing, or categorizing images on Commons.

Wikipedians from St. Louis and elsewhere in the region are encouraged to make a day-trip of it and come to Kansas City for this special opportunity!

And two local editions of the Great American Wiknic, the "picnic anyone can edit." Come meet (and geek out with, if you want) your local Wikipedians in a laid-back atmosphere:

Wichita
Saturday, June 23, starting at 1 p.m. — Central Riverside Park
  • Join the 1st annual Wichita Wiknic: The Sunflower State blooms Free Knowledge!
St. Louis
Saturday, June 23, starting at 11 a.m. — Forest Park Visitors' Center
  • Join the 2nd annual St Louis Wiknic: The Gateway to the West is now The Gateway to the Wiki!

Yemeni Missiles

edit

Hey Kivaan I wanted to thank you for creating the Volcano 1 article as I have been busy ever since I did the Volcano H-2 article, and never managed to get around to do it, if you need help finding sources or are interested in finishing the rest of the Yemeni missiles (As I believe there are about another 4 types of missiles that are still missing) I will be happy to work with you. Chilicheese22 (talk) 17:30, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey Kivaan sorry to get back to you so late, but I wanted to make sure that I had an idea of what types of missiles were being used on a weekly or daily basis against the Saudi Led Coalition that may not be garnering the same amount of attention as the Volcano H-2. What I was able to find was that the articles that needed to be created were the Volcano 2 (Just the regular plain one without the "H" at the end") the Zelezal Series [1] [2] [3](English Translation-Quake) (There are three Variants 1,2,3) the Qaher series [4] [5](English Translation-Conqueror) (I believe there are three variant also 1,2,M2) and the newly released anti ship missile Mandab [6] which is named after Bab-el-Mandeb strait and I believe there is one variant of this. Also what I found that's interesting is that these shorter range missiles are shot at 3 or 4 at a time see the Qaher M-2 video that I attached. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rearwin Cloudster, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Speedster and Sportster (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
