Kind Journalist
Are you another editor?
editTo avoid any misunderstanding here, I have to ask you the direct question as to if you are another editor who has established this new account for the editing of the Pershing article. it just seems very strange that a brand new user would start off editing a highly controversial topic and have knowledge of Wikipedia policy pages and how to in-link them. But, it is possible, so I am just asking this to clear up the air. Thanks for your understanding, thsi is not an attack against you - just asking for clarification. -OberRanks (talk) 19:45, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- As I said on the talk page for the John J. Pershing article, I'm not another user. I understand why it seems that way, though, and I'll try to explain. I have been using Wikipedia for years without an account as many people probably do. I have made edits here and there, read talk pages, and looked into Wikipedia policy a lot because I'm a very opinionated person with an unfortunate attraction to debate. I also have a tendancy to present myself as an expert on things that I've just read about. You can chalk that up to my having a rapid, intuitive understanding of things, or just having a strong know-it-all inflection, or a combination of the two, according to your judgement. Finally, a fact you might find enlightening; the reason I was looking into the John J. Pershing article at all is because the 'Nigger Jack dispute' is something close to my opinionated but kind heart from maybe about a year ago. It's not something I usually like to talk about so directly, but what I see as people making decisions based on misunderstood emotions and cultural cliches, knee-jerk reactions and that sort of thing, those issues in general are close to my heart. When I came back today, I found that the issue of my interest had just about engulfed the whole talk page, and it was still comically unresolved, so I decided to post. Anyway, any further discussions about my identity should probably continue here, since this kind of thing is discouraged on article talk pages.Kind Journalist (talk) 21:26, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Welcome. Please don't feel that you need to defend yourself here. You were asked a question, and you gave an answer. I certainly won't tell you what to do, but you needn't feel that you have to continue this conversation. All the best-Mk5384 (talk) 03:07, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Accusations of sockpuppetry
editOn Xeno's (an administrator's) talk page, OberRanks; the user who asked you if you were someone else, has accused me of sockpuppetry. Specifically, he has stated that I am you. I have given my full permission for this to be investigated. I would greatly appreciate it if you would do the same, as this is just about as out of line as out of line can get. - Please note that OberRanks, along with another user, are now accusing you of being an SPA. You are, of course, under no obligation, but it would help all of us if you would come forward and help to clear this up. Thank you.Mk5384 (talk) 15:55, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your posts on the Pershing talk page, and a sincere thank you for coming to my defence. Would you please, either here, or on my talk page, adress this sockpuppet issue. I have absolutely no problem with an investigation, and I hope you won't either. Of course, you are under no obligation, but it will help me clear my name, and will help ensure that the person who iniated this is punished. All the best-Mk5384 (talk) 22:17, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- Well, what am I supposed to say? That I'm not a sockpuppet? Well, I'm not a sockpuppet (as I said before), and this is definitely not an SPA. I really just don't have the narcissistic motivation anymore to do something like that. And as I said on Xeno's talk page, although maybe in a way that was hard to understand, I totally encourage an investigation into the possibility that I am a sockpuppet for Mk5384 or anyone else. Sorry that I'm not totally sure how to address this. I'm not totally sure about how investigation into these kind of things works on Wikipedia, only that I think you can file for it somewhere. I originally wasn't aware my permission was required - if it even is.Kind Journalist (talk) 08:46, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

- Thank you very much. OberRanks has now accused me of meatpuppetry, instead. In all fairness, I should mention that Baseball Bugs has redacted his accusations against me. OberRanks is quite fond of "follow the leader", and I've a feeling that he may now redact, as well. I'll wait and see, for the moment. In any case, thank you for your response. editAs a participant in WikiProject Alternative Views I invite you to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sorcha Faal (2nd nomination)[1]. For an entity such as this who has gained global noterity to even be considered for deletion is beyond my understanding.Kmt885 (talk) 09:09, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
