Replaceable fair use Image:GQLupi_b.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:GQLupi_b.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GQLupi b.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:GQLupi b.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Austin Post Office
editYou removed the Austin Post Office image in this revision here: http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Austin,_Texas&diff=291119235&oldid=290962947
In a way its a local "landmark" because this is the United States Postal Service's main post office for Austin, Texas. It doesn't look distinctive because the USPS built it rather recently. The USPS's main post office is not located in the central city. Also, there isn't a sign on the post office that says "Austin Post Office" -- but there is a banner that says "APO" - A clue about what it really is. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:46, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Some exoplanets lack water
edit"The recent discovery that several surveyed exoplanets lacked water showed that there is still much more to be learned about the properties of exoplanets."
Kevin I respectfully believe this sentence from the Extrasolar planet page means that some of the observed exoplanets lack water. So it doesn't mean that water wasn't found yet. I know that water vapor has been found spectroscopically. But according to the predictions of current theories of planet formation some of the planets should have water but they don't so that's why we have much to learn yet. See this link: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=water-mysteriously-absent. I'll add the sentence again with the citation

Number of stars and planets in the Milky Way
editHi, Since you seem to know the subject, could you have a look at the number of stars and planets in the Milky Way. There are various figures, which do not seem to match. See Milky Way#Composition and structure and Extrasolar planet#Number of stars with planets. I have seen the figure of 1012 planets in the Milky Way, but I don't understand how this is computed. Lists of extrasolar planets
editNumber of discovered extrasolar planets has reached 707. You can add planets to these articles since they're way outdated:
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Orbitreflex.gif
editA tag has been placed on File:Orbitreflex.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 22:02, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
