Your submission at Articles for creation
editI noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Daily Squib. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.
Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, or website etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.
Here's an example of how to add references:
He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>
== References ==
{{reflist}}
That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.
Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat channel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

Loriski (talk) 04:38, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Daily Squib article...
editHey Kevin.fernandez424!
Thank you for your message - good to hear from you and I'm glad see the article ready-to-go :) As you can see, I've moved your article into wikipedia mainspace -congratulations :) I made a couple of edits. Unfortunately, in order to make the article wiki-friendly, as it were, I had to remove that second (or third, can't remember now) sentence about DS - the one where you talk about it 'casting a juvenalian eye over avaricious figures'. Dull as it (sometimes) is - Wiki articles have to be written from a neutral point of view and in an encyclopedic tone. You could, however - if you wanted to have some description of DS's outlook - quote them talking about themselves. So, for example, if their website gives a description similar to the one you gave, you could include a sentence that says: 'On the official website, the Daily Squib is described as "a ..."'. I also removed the bit about the last story 'going viral' (though left all the other stuff you had added to this in). This is quite a big claim and would need a citation - i.e. you would need someone else to have said that this is what happened in order to be able to include it on wiki. I hope you're happy about all this - and it all makes sense - but of course if you do have any questions just drop me another note one my talkpage :)
It sounds from your message like you might be sticking around on wikipedia - great news if so! I hope this is the case. If you do need any help at all, give me a shout any time. Equally, Teahouse is a really great place to go for answers and assistance - it's filled with expert editors who are super-friendly and helpful :)
All best,
A brownie for you!
editJust to say thanks for all the work you've put into The Daily Squib, and for having the tenacity to stick at it :) Loriski (talk) 04:58, 28 July 2012 (UTC) |
