Hello, I'm new to this. I only really joined because there were things incorrect about on this article. The first being that my artist name, KAMAUU, has to be in all caps at all times. This is a bit frustrating, because I was signed with Atlantic Records for over seven 7 years and I could never get them to correct the capitalization of name, which negatively effects my brand because my name keeps getting mis-capitalized on flyers because companies refer to you guys for info about me and you have my name wrong. If you refer to many of the articles about me you've cited, and source, you can see my name is in all caps. Also regarding the images, The shot from WEIDAMINEH was a tripod shot that I took my self, and screen grabbed it. The cover of the Mixd Greens project of mine is a family photo of my father and I that I edited, aged, and applied graphics to myself. For the portrait that I posted, permission was given from the photographer to upload to Wikipedia. Additionally I can provide documentation to prove that I am the artist in the article. I can provide government Identification if necessary. Please work with me here, I'm just trying to correct my name, (which is a painfully important to me) and make this article more alive and descriptive of my story. You have to understand that Wikipedia is not a marketing platform and you must not treat it as such. We have our own rules and one of them is that marketing all-caps are not used here. See MOS:ALLCAPS: "Reduce names of companies or other trademarks from all caps to sentence case, unless they are acronyms or initialisms, even if the company normally writes them in all caps." That's the rule, and you can bet we won't make an exception for you. So I suggest not to mention that point again, as it won't lead anywhere.
As for other possible improvements to your article, feel free to make suggestions on the article talk page, but you should never edit the article yourself to avoid a conflict of interest. Also, any suggestion you make on the talk page must be supported by a reliable source or it will almost certainly be ignored. "I know it's true" is not good enough for us. Hey Gawaon! Thank you so much for your response! I actually already checked out the MOS:ALLCAPS: page, haha, I'm a bit late but I read it and I understand that it is your rule on the site. I'll def respect that moving forward, thanks for your patience in taking the time to explain! Lastly, I also checked out the reliable source page - so basically when I make suggestions to the article talk page, make sure cite published legitimate articles? Do audio and video interviews count as well as reliable sources?
("I know it's true" is hilarious and I completely agree that's not good enough, not only for you all, but for any respectable platform that takes the validity of it's information seriously. I completely understand. In retrospect, I see how ludicrous my initial approach was. It was in pure ignorance, and I appreciate your grace in taking the time to even respond and explain while also providing links for me to read further. Thank you very much Gawaon. You're a stand up one for that. Thank you thank you.)
Best,

Hi Kamau, no problem and thanks for your understanding! Yes, articles published in independent magazines and such are generally considered reliable. Audio and video interviews can be too, but it depends on where they were published – if they're from an independent magazine known to do at least a minimum of fact checking, then probably yes, if from a fanzine or random YouTube channel, then probably no.
