Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 01:33, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Mentoring
editHi Julie! Welcome to Wikipedia! I am not the online ambassador for your class. The online ambassador for your class is Ed. He will be mentoring the students in your class. If you have any questions regarding editing Wikipedia, I'll be happy to answer them. But, Ed is the "person in charge" of your class. Best, Bejinhan talks 04:16, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Hello,
Okay, thank you!

Survey
editHi Juliejones24!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Signing
editJulie,
When you do anything on discussion boards (for example your comments on how you want to proceed with your article) be sure to sign with four tildas. Marchantshapiro (talk) 16:45, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Just checking in
editHi! My name is Cindy and I am working with Ed this semester to support the Political Participation course, taught by Professor Tess Marchant-Shapiro. I can be reached either through my talk page, email, or on IRC at #wikipedia-en-classroom. Please feel free to contact either myself or Ed any time you have a question. We are both here to help and look forward to working with you! Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 07:34, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Sandbox
editJulie, Your sandbox hasn't been properly set up yet. Stop by and I'll help. Marchantshapiro (talk) 13:40, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Okay, can I fix it at the beginning of class because that is the only free time I have.
Thanks,
Hi Julie! I have removed your additions to the above referenced article due to concerns over diminished article quality, unexplained removal of sourced content, lack of consensus for changes, and noncompliance with the Manual of Style. It is apparent that you created a preferred version of the Gray Panthers article and simply made a copy and paste, replacing the previous version. This action usurps the collaborative work and attribution of others within the community. At this point, I recommend spending time reviewing the Manual of Style and working to locate significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the Gray Panthers. You also need to review information on how to cite your sources. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not an extension of an organization's website. Encyclopedic articles are not concerned with presenting an organization's mission, vision, and value statements, but rather focuses on presenting and documenting how and why the organization is worthy of notice. How and why is this organization significant, important, and notable? Present reasoning and examples according to others that have taken notice of this organization, then support the summation with significant, reliable, and independent sources. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 17:08, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
