Welcome
editWelcome!
Hello, Jkgiesler, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that you have an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that:
- Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- Most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- Freely-licensed images may be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images, from where they can be used on Wikipedia and many other wikis?
- We recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process - at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

RFP
editRegarding your request at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Confirmed:
It is a good idea for new editors (and even seasoned editors) to work on article drafts in one's own user space. You can use your sandbox (there's a link to it at the top of this page), or create any sub-pages such as User:Jkgiesler/MyNewArticleName.
Doing this has advantages:
- It lets you invite others to review it before moving it to main article space.
- You can develop the article in Wikipedia's environment so you'll know how it would look as an article.
- You can develop the article at your leisure without worrying about the article being deleted as unsuitable for main article space.
- It helps you earn the trust of the Wikipedia community as a constructive contributor.
When you do create a sub-page or use your sandbox for draft articles, remember to place the tag {{userspace draft}} at the top to indicate that it's a work in progress. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:31, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
