editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Caddie Woodlawn has been reverted.
Your edit here to Caddie Woodlawn was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://jeannettestakeonlife.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-genealogy-of-woodhouse-family.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 08:13, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Do not make changes because you assert something. You must provide sources for your edits or they can/will be reverted. And engaging in edit warring is a good way to get yourself blocked.Quis separabit? 20:46, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
- Nice blogsite. But don't take yourself too seriously, my dear. Yours, Quis separabit? 21:46, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
Hi, Jeanette. I don't know where you live or if you want to meet, but I wanted to let you know that I reverted your edit to Oliver Hill about his name originally being Charles White. I'm actually on the way to the Library of Virginia to return his autobiography, which mentions his later name change to reflect his relationship with his stepfather, but has nothing about his name originally being Charles. I'm also going to email one of his former partners, to see if he knows anything about this, which certainly wasn't mentioned in any of the obituaries I've seen. If you want to meet me at the LVA (where I plan to add some Richmond Times Dispatch refs to the Oliver Hill article as well as attend a public program), that's fine. Otherwise, please understand the other editor's post on this your talk page that assertions (such as the name) have to be verifiable.Jweaver28 (talk) 14:10, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- I responded to your response on my talk page.Jweaver28 (talk) 22:17, 15 September 2016 (UTC) Email and I will send the documents Namely His birth records and you also have his parents totally wrong. jeannettekathleenrook@gmail.com. Your work is a little on the sloppy side.
I noticed you have been apparently trying to add a reference to the DeFord Bailey article. I have added an instructional list that should be able to help you add a reference in an accepted Wikipedia style. Shearonink (talk) 05:05, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- Re your most recent edit summary at the DeFord Bailey article -
- DeFord Baily was Friend With Dr. Humphrey Bates. Bates had frequent appearance on WDAD. The Tennessean January 14, 1926 DeFord Baily made his Radio Appearance on the Rival Station of WSM he 1st Played on WDAD. - no one is in charge of this article, Wikipedia is edited by volunteers and edited according to consensus. That being said, I deleted your contributions to the article because the reference you added was somewhat mangled and resulted in redlinked errors. I did, however, find info from Bailey's entry at the Country Music Hall of Fame that results in a changed date for his first radio appearance. Shearonink (talk) 05:18, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
DeFord Bailey 1st Appearance on Radio was with WDAD
editDeFord Bailey's 1st appearance on The Radio was on WDAD. Not WSM. He was also very good friends with Dr. Humphrey Bates. He played between the two states WDAD and WSM

- I have moved your post to this already existing thread on your talkpage. I added a reference & additional text per your concerns. Any further responses should be here to keep all the info in one place. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 16:10, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Adding references can be easy
edit Hello! Here's how to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain the Wikipedia policy of verifiability.
Adding well formatted references is actually quite easy:
- While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "Cite". Click on it.
- Then click on "Templates".
- Choose the most appropriate template and fill in as many details as you can. This will add a well formatted reference that is helpful in case the web URL (or "website link") becomes inactive in the future.
- Click on Preview when you're done filling out the 'Cite (web/news/book/journal)' to make sure that the reference is correct.
- Click on Insert to insert the reference into your editing window content.
- Click on Show preview to Preview all your editing changes.
- Before clicking on Publish changes, check that a References header ==References== is near the end of the article.
- And check that {{Reflist}} is directly underneath that header.
- 7. Click on Publish changes. ...and you've just added a complete reference to a Wikipedia article.
You can read more about this on Help:Edit toolbar or see this video File:RefTools.ogv.
Hope this helps, --Shearonink (talk) 05:05, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

editThank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to DeFord Bailey, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Shearonink (talk) 05:32, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Received your email
editThank you for your interest in editing the DeFord Bailey article. I would prefer to keep correspondence about editing it on the pages of Wikipedia mostly at the article's talk page. If you do have new information about him it has to be from reliable sources like articles and interviews in published magazines or newspapers, news reports and shows on television, information in a published book, etc. Information from any unpublished interviews or personal correspondence cannot be used. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 14:24, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
Your recent edits to the WDAD article have been removed. There were a couple of issues:
- WDAD (Indiana County PA) has always been a different corporate entity than the WDAD radio station in Nashville.
- Your contributions were unsourced.
So yes, per policy I removed your edits from the article but please do not panic or get upset, they are still available in your sandbox: User:Jeannette K. Rook/sandbox, You can work on improving the content there - adding references from reliable sources, proofreading for typos, going over the style & tone. This sandbox is yours to use as a draft-space, as you work on information you want to add to Wikipedia. I suggest you use it as a content incubator before you consider possibly adding the content back into the WDAD article. Shearonink (talk) 05:45, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Per one of your edit summaries at the WDAD article "who ever own's this page I am more then Happy to send my notes", no one owns the article, anyone can edit it but the edits must conform to Wikipedia good editing practices, guidelines, and policies.
