Project banners

edit

Hi, it's the usual practice to put project banners on the talk pages only; regular WP readers just want to read the article, not wade through banners that have no meaning for them, have them take up space in printouts, etc. Stan (talk) 17:27, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trois-Rivières battle plaque

edit

You uploaded a picture of a plaque commemorating the Battle of Trois-Rivières. Since you seem to be from there, can you tell me where this plaque is located? (Is it in a park dedicated to the battle?) I'd like to put words in the article about it.

Thanks! Magic♪piano 12:49, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The plaque is located at 983, bd des Forges on a tiny piece of land just besides a house. This site is just up the Lejeune bridge that crosses the autoroute and faces the St-Louis cemetery on the west side of the boulevard. Your request made me notice that there is no article in the Wikipédia en français. What a shame! I'll take care of it. I will upload another picture that will show how the plaque is surrounded. You can find a lot of information in French in this 32 page bulletin : Pattri18 Jean Fex (talk) 15:22, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I was also a bit surprised to see that. Thanks for the info! Magic♪piano 21:56, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I was just told that the americans will soon raise another monument in Trois-Rivieres about the battle. Jean Fex (talk) 16:36, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Philately WikiProject

edit

I hope you don't mind but I moved your name from the active to the inactive participants of the Philately WikiProject at Wikipedia:WikiProject Philately#Participants. If this is inappropriate or you become active again just move your name back up to the active list. Good luck with whatever you are doing. ww2censor (talk) 04:39, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

You're invited!

edit

Hello, Jean Fex,

You do not need to attend the conference to sign up for the Wikimeetup, but you are certainly welcome! Bastique ☎ call me!

(PS: Please share this with those you know who might not be on the delivery list, i.e. Users in Montreal/Quebec)

File permission problem with File:PacifiqueDuplessis.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:PacifiqueDuplessis.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:34, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
