I can't log in, that's seems to be the problem. It won't accept my password. What am I to do? Thanks, Jamie 148.252.128.177 (talk) 20:45, 19 March 2020 (UTC) Yamla (talk) 17:12, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Jamie, would you be able to log in, and confirm that this request is from you? We should be able to issue IPBE for 6 months in order to bypass the block you're encountering. SQLQuery me! 15:49, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Notable people
editHi Jamie
If you are going to add names to a list of notable people they need to have an article on Wikipedia. You may need to write the article first. Happy editing.Charles (talk) 20:42, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Polharrow Burn moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Polharrow Burn, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 10:54, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
Citations
editHi Jamie
Please do not add bare external links to the text. It is not allowed and makes work for other editors having to clean it up. Read WP:Citing sources and learn to make citations that appear in the reference list.Charles (talk) 09:09, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
Polharrow Burn
editIt looked as though you were abandoning your draft. I therefore took the liberty of rescuing it and it is now at Polharrow Burn. I would be delighted if you were able to improve it. Regards Velella Velella Talk 22:12, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for taking an interest in my Polharrow Burn page and restoring after I had given up. Jamie Jamie Stuart 17:17, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright
editHello Jamie Stuart 11, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Whithorn have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:30, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 20
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Glenelg, Highland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Glenelg (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Dornie, appears to have been inappropriate, and has been reverted. Please feel free to use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The edit was unsourced and garbled. David Biddulph (talk) 10:21, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
In your edits to Hurlford you included an external link in the body text, contrary to WP:External links. I guess that you may have intended it to be a reference, so I have made this correction. You'll find advice on references at Help:Referencing for beginners. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:38, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
The same at Dornie. I've corrected that too. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:42, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

editYour signature on talk pages ought to include links, as per WP:SIGLINK, but at present it doesn't. Sandaig
editHello,
Sandaig is located south of the village of Glenelg several miles further up the coast from Loch Hourn. Look on Google maps or Ordnance Survey maps. Glenelg has a Wikipedia page you where you can see more details. I know the Glenelg area quite well anyway having visited it many times.
Cheers,
Your draft article, Draft:Henry John Dobson

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Meszzy2 (talk) 08:22, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Galloway
editHi Jamie, I came across you when writing Kirkandrews, Dumfries and Galloway - your climate chart at Dundrennan was very handy, I'm I nicked most of it and made a template (I've attributed you on the talk). If you're interested, I'm planning to start writing a few articles about listed buildings in your neck of the woods - I'm in York, but have family close to where you are. Let me know if you're interested, it might be fun to collaborate. GirthSummit (blether) 16:49, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

editHi Jamie, thanks for the update to the above. It’s interesting information. A couple of things. You’ve put in an embedded external link as a citation. That’s slightly messed up the style, as we now have two Reference 1s. Also, I don’t think we use embedded links in that way. Second, could you clarify which building the link is referring to? The ID number would help. It appears to be referring to the stables, rather than the main house? If it is, we should make clear that the Oddies restored this, rather than the whole house. Let me know what you think. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 17:45, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think it’s this, [1]. If it is, it would be best to use the HE reference template. You could also update the info box, swapping out the Grade II* building. Unfortunately, it can only hold 5. KJP1 (talk) 17:50, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Apologies for messing up the style. I've taken out and replaced with a citation for Giles Worsley's England's Lost Country Houses. He references the Oddies on page 153 in his article on the neighbouring house, Heath Old Hall. Jamie Stuart (talk) 20:16, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. I've sfn'd the Worsley, to bring it in line with the citation style used, and put The Stable House in the infobox. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 10:26, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you KJP1. Regards Jamie Stuart (talk) 18:57, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
