Speedy deletion of I Can Do Better
editA tag has been placed on I Can Do Better, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add hangon
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Andrew4793 t c 21:59, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use images in galleries/lists
editTwice now [1][2] you have re-added album cover images to Let Go (Avril Lavigne album) after they were removed [3][4] for violating our policy on the use of fair use, copyrighted images in lists and galleries. Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria items #3(a) and #8. The use of images in this manner is not permitted and has once again been undone. Please do not re-instate the images on this article or on any other similar discography type section of an article. If you have questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 12:36, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Your changes against policy [5][6] have been reverted. If you persist in doing this, I will recommend you be temporarily blocked from editing. Please stop. I am happy to answer questions on this matter, but insisting on revert warring will achieve nothing. --Durin 16:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Since you insist on re-inserting fair use album covers against policy, I've requested you be temporarily blocked. --Durin 17:21, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- And all of your re-insertions have, once again, been undone. --Durin 17:23, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Request to have you blocked has been placed [7]. --Durin 17:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
You have been blocked for 31 hours for disruptively violating our policies on the use of non-free content. When the block expires, please consider more productive ways to work through your changes. (ESkog)(Talk) 17:33, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Runaway (Avril Lavigne song)
editAn editor has nominated Runaway (Avril Lavigne song), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Runaway (Avril Lavigne song) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you.
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Runaway (Avril Lavigne song), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Non-free use disputed for Image:Stephanie mistake.jpg
editThis file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Stephanie mistake.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:47, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Stephanie tightrope album.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Stephanie tightrope album.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:34, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Do You See Me? (song)
editA prod template has been added to the article Do You See Me? (song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with db-author. -FisherQueen (Talk) 13:02, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Please don't change the format of dates. Most British people and many people internationally write dates in day-month-year order, e.g., 12 December 1904. Most Americans use month-day-year order, e.g., December 12, 1904. If the article is about an American topic, use month-day-year. If it is a British topic, use day-month-year. If neither, leave it as originally written. Many Americans or British people take offence if an article about their country, written in their local version of English, is changed around to a version they don't use. So please do not do that.
Dates are usually enclosed in two square brackets, as in 12 December or December 12. This means that you can set your preferences (if you look around your screen you'll see the word preferences; click on it and follow the instructions) to ensure that you see all dates in the format you want, whether date-month-year, month-date-year or yyyy-mm-dd. The general rules on how Wikipedia articles are written can be seen in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Rules specific to dates and numbers can be seen in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers).
If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on the web's fastest growing encyclopædia (or encyclopedia, if you write it that way!). Thank you. — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 19:35, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Making things pretty
editHi, thanks for helping out with the encyclopedia. I appreciate your attention to the Amy Studt article. I generally like it if things look good, but there are some things that should be avoided.
- The 'width' parameter in tables should not be used, they should be automatically sized. This will ensure that song titles are not broken over multiple lines (unless necessary), which they are after your recent edit.
- Flags are generally unhelpful. Consider how many flags you know by heart, then imagine what flags someone in the middle of China knows, and don't forget that many flags are indistinguishable.
- Centering numbers in a table really serves no purpose. It doesn't make it more readable, it does the opposite.
- The en dash (–) is used to signal the absence of data for a table cell. Neither the hyphen (-) or the em dash (—) should be used for that.
I only hope you will take these things into consideration. I believe with it, you will improve Wikipedia even better. Have a nice day. -- Pepve (talk) 21:59, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Flag icons in infobox
editRegarding your edits to infoboxes: please do not replace the names of countries with the respective flags, as this is out of compliance with Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs, and among other things, the reader won't learn as quickly what country the flag is representing, particularly if they don't know what country it does represent. For more information, read Wikipedia:Don't overuse flags. Thanks. Lillygirl (talk) 02:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Stephmcintosh.jpg
editA tag has been placed on Image:Stephmcintosh.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Who I Am (Amy Pearson album), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Proposed deletion of Superheroes (Dani Harmer album)
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Superheroes (Dani Harmer album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Cut and paste moves
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Orphaned non-free media (File:Jennettesoclose.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Jennettesoclose.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:36, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:JennetteMcCurdySoClose.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:JennetteMcCurdySoClose.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Proposed deletion of Jack Gill
editThe article Jack Gill has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY, non-notable per WP:BIO, WP:MUSIC and WP:WEB, no reliable references per WP:RS, can find very little about subject online.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod

Speedy deletion nomination of Butterfingers (song)
editA tag has been placed on Butterfingers (song), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. File source problem with File:ButterfingersAmy.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:ButterfingersAmy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:59, 11 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Istcol (talk) 14:59, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Donna Freedman
editHi, just a quick note to let you know that I have reverted your edit to the Donna Freedman page. The reason being is I felt it was a little inaccurate to describe her as bisexual. Whilst I appreciate that she did share a kiss with Sunny Lee, it was only one kiss and it wasn't planned. More spur of the moment and as a thank you to Sunny for doing something if I remember correctly. Since then she's not shown any 'signs' of being bisexual, just because she kissed Sunny once on the spur of the moment, it doesn't mean to say that she is bisexual. I hope you understand, any questions please ask me on my talk page --5 albert square (talk) 18:21, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Butterfingers Single.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Butterfingers Single.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. [midnight comet] [contribs] 13:23, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Repost of Butterfingers (song)
editA tag has been placed on Butterfingers (song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template hangon underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Fair use rationale for File:File:Hear-no-see-no-speak-no single.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:File:Hear-no-see-no-speak-no single.jpg. License tagging for File:Mirandacosgrovehighmaintenance.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Mirandacosgrovehighmaintenance.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rail transport in Finland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Salo. A page you started (Túnel de la risa) has been reviewed!
editThanks for creating Túnel de la risa.
I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
The issue is that none of the sourcing indicates that this is the name of the tunnel project. The article is nicely put together, but both current citations don't name the tunnel project, and don't name either of the two existing tunnels, exist (except for the derisive Tubo de la Risa). Do you have any sourcing which shows that this project is actually named this? Or the names of the tunnels themselves? For the time being I've redirected this to the main transit article.
To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with Onel5969
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

License tagging for File:Mitch James.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Mitch James.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:30, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

editHello. It appears your talk page is becoming quite lengthy and is in need of archiving. According to Wikipedia's user talk page guidelines; "Large talk pages become difficult to read, strain the limits of older browsers, and load slowly over slow internet connections. As a rule of thumb, archive closed discussions when a talk page exceeds 75 KB or has multiple resolved or stale discussions." - this talk page is 110.5 KB. See Help:Archiving a talk page for instructions on how to manually archive your talk page, or to arrange for automatic archiving using a bot. If you have any questions, place a help me notice on your talk page, or go to the help desk. Thank you. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:30, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

Victoria-Temuco Regional Train moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Victoria-Temuco Regional Train, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
edit Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Vitoria-Gasteiz into Vitoria-Gasteiz railway station. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted copied template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 10:48, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

editGoogle Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
editHello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

Right. The Delta Goodrem article was a genuine mistake, I began creating the page the same time someone else was. As for the Ellie Goulding article...they were singles. And they appear on the album. Katy Perry’s pre-Daisies singles from Smile are listed as album singles so why can’t these? No need to take that tone alright? Jackgill06 (talk) 18:50, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Solid Gold (Delta Goodrem ain’t) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
