National varieties of English

edit

Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 10:06, 25 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Cabayi, thank you for the information. I will not do that again. IvyTies Team (talk) 08:00, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

February 2021

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "IvyTies Team", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it includes the word Team which implies shared use contrary to Wikipedia's username policy.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 10:09, 25 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Cabayi, thanks for the notice. I've tried to change the username by requesting it by submitting to a link you have recommended, hope it'll be granted. Thanks IvyTies Team (talk) 09:06, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. WaggersTALK 14:11, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Waggers, i have requested to change the username days ago right after i got the notice from Cabayi, but seems like it hasn't been approved. Here i will try again:

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

the old username has been found violating the username policy, so this new username doesn't represent the word team or any that represent a group IvyTies Team (talk) 09:12, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

That's the username you requested on 26 Feb. It's the business' website - https://ivyti.es/
Usernames may not represent a group, organisation, or business, nor a role within them, nor its website. Your username needs to represent YOU, not your job. Please read the Username policy and choose another name. Cabayi (talk) 10:08, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please unblock this site. Thank you IvyTies Team (talk) 09:12, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of IvyTies

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on IvyTies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Undisclosed paid editing

edit

Hello Jelita at IvyTies. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to IvyTies, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jelita at IvyTies. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jelita at IvyTies|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:38, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ironically, your initial userpage version would have been considered a sufficient disclosure of your paid editing. However, you deleted it. Please utilize the {{paid}} template on your userpage to restore the necessary disclosure. Thanks. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:58, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
