Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
editSuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 05:02, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

- @Blaze The Wolf: You can just go to the teahouse "articles to improve" page i think --InternetScavenger89
- Yep I know. (Also it's 4 ~ not 3, 4 adds your signature and a timestamp, 3 just adds your sig) ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:15, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf: I'm not sure i know what you mean by that. 4 of what? Sorry, i do not understand. Also, what genre of things should i edit today?
- 4 tildes which is this character: ~. My guess is you don't actually have your custom signature set as your signature and instead are copying and pasting the code every time you sign. If you want to make your custom signature as your actual signature, all you have to do is go to Special:Preferences and scroll down to where it says signature, then just copy and paste the code of your signature into that box and click on the box that says "Treat the above as wikimarkup" and then click save at the bottom of the page. After that whenever you sign using 4 tildes like this
~~~~
it'll sign with that signature along with a timestamp. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:58, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
editHowdy. You seem to be having trouble signing your posts. It's 4 tildes that are used. GoodDay (talk) 17:56, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @GoodDay: Hows this? -> --InternetScavenger89 InternetScavenger89 (talk) 17:59, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @GoodDay: Is there anyway to keep the colored signature but still have a timestamp?
- I've actually told you how you do so above. If you need any assistance in doing so feel free to ask. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:02, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Nah it doesn't. It's just a bit of the technical part of Wikipedia (I originally had my sig display | ; instead of a pipe (|) because I didn't have the wiki markup box checked, but that was before I got this fancy sig). ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:07, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- I was just about to come back and tell you. Luckily, there isn't anything else you could've done in that situation. WP:3RR is a rule where no user can revert the same content three times in a row. However, there are some exceptions to this, such as if you are reverting someone who is obviously doing persistent vandalism. In this case, this user is ignoring their warnings and continually reverting your fixes, therefore being a disruption and falling under this exception. Furthermore, the rule states that "edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism". Since we all agree with you that this editor is nothing but disruptive, you're perfectly fine. Panini!🥪 18:27, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Panini!:Thank you for the information. I had previously read this rule, and when i realized i had broke it, i basically reported myself on the Administrator incident board. Good to know that we are fine. --InternetScavenger89 18:29, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yep, and like I said, if you have any questions feel free to ask on WP:TEA, which I do answer questions on from time to time (I think Panini might as well but I could be wrong). ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:30, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf: I will do! I will also go and edit some other pages so i don't become an extended confirmed with just talk page edits ._. --InternetScavenger89 18:32, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yep that's definitely a good idea. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:32, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf: User:Bbb23 keeps reverting all of my edits and is saying they are disruptive. Will you please help? I am trying to fix copyedit. What can i do that's helpful that doesn't give me a wikiblockthreat.
- I suggest you listen to them as they are an admin here on Wikipedia and are much more knowledgeable than I am. I suggest taking a look at WP:BRD. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:09, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Also, while technically there is no rule against welcoming users with no edits, it's generally frowned upon as the welcome messages make mention of the user's contributions and if they've made none then it can be quite confusing. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:11, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze the Wolf: I understand Blaze, its just that he's reverted almost every single edit i've made today. I go and edit a page on the suggestions list, 3 minutes later, it is reverted. I don't get it.
--InternetScavenger89 19:13, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hence why I suggest you look at WP:BRD. Part of that process is discussing an edit that got reverted. If you don't understand why your edit was reverted the one thing you should not do is immediately make the edit again, and instead ask the user who reverted you why they did so. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:15, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf: Ok. I understand it now. I just fixed another copyedit, and if he reverts it, i'll go to his talk page and politely ask him why. --InternetScavenger89 19:18, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Good. Also, I suggest taking a look at WP:RS for what is and isn't a reliable source. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:20, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Also also, on Wikipedia, we go by quality over quantity, meaning we prefer if a user has made a few decent edits, rather than a lot of edits that aren't all that good. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:23, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf:Do you think i have made some decent edits, or a lot of indecent edits? --InternetScavenger89 19:25, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Not meaning to sound rude/harsh but I would say you've mostly made indecent edits, however you have made a few good edits. Since you appear to be interesting in antivandal work I suggest reading WP:VANDAL and possibly seeing if anyone available at WP:CVUA would be willing to assist you. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:33, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaze The Wolf: Can you give me feedback on how i can improve on my other edits? --InternetScavenger89 19:41, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- That would be a better question to ask at the Teahouse as I'm unable to answer that question myself. However I do suggest you take a look at WP:CE since you also seem interested in copy-editing. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:43, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Welcoming new users
editHi InternetScavenger89,
I noticed you've been welcoming some new users recently, which is kind. However, the template you are using starts with "Thank you for your contributions". A couple of users you welcomed had already received warnings for vandalism (Users Badussias420, Has been blacklisted1) and one (EmSolaris) hasn't made any edits yet. It's a good idea to check the user's contributions first to make sure the message you're using is appropriate. If you're using the Twinkle tool there are a number of different welcome templates, including ones to use if their edits are unconstructive/tests or outright vandalism.
Kind regards, Princess Persnickety (talk) 21:12, 30 November 2021 (UTC) :)
- Let me echo what Princess is saying. Look at WP:Welcoming committee. This will give you ideas as well as let you know what is expected of you when you welcome new accounts. It's recommended that you check their contributions first. Mistakes happen and you are being bold which we, as a community, and I, as a mentor, want you to continue to do. Just remember to be conscious of your own actions and its impact. --ARoseWolf 13:51, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- @ARoseWolf: If they have a warning from User:ClueBotNG, should i still welcome them?
- I'd say, if they have any warnings at all then you might consider not welcome templating them but certain circumstances may allow for it. It's always best to check their contributions first. Don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes so everyone knows it's you making the comment rather than having to look it up. :) --ARoseWolf 12:13, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Next three posts at bottom of archive one. I have not forgotten them and i have read them over many times
edit- @Blaze The Wolf: I have archived these sections, yet i will not forget what they said. If you wish me to undo that I will do so.
It's not your fault!
editRe "I am so sorry, i didn't mean to get anyone blocked": It's not your fault! The IP editor themselves was being disruptive and refusing to abide by our rules, so banning them was the only option and determined upon by several other editors. You did the right thing by reporting it. Panini!🥪 13:27, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Panini!: By the way, i like the "Me trying to pull myself from my work" meme on your talk page. Its pretty funnny.
Please stay away from noticeboards, do some content work.
editYour replies on various noticeboard threads are not constructive. Work on building the encyclopedia until you have a reasonable amount of experience before trying to get involved in governance and disputes. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:40, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- @ScottishFinnishRadish:Thank you for alerting me on my talk page. I appreciate the feedback, and will put it into practice. Is there something wrong with what i said on the edit-war noticeboard? I would like to understand. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by InternetScavenger89 (talk • contribs)
- Involving yourself in disputes that have nothing to do with you will generally only increase the drama, especially when you have little experience. The admins patrolling the edit warring noticeboard are more than capable of sussing out what should be done. Statements like this are also unhelpful. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:52, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- @ScottishFinnishRadish: I have reverted that edit. --InternetScavenger89 18:00, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- And in doing so you removed contributions by other editors, so I undid that edit. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 18:01, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- I've reverted what I think is the edit you meant to revert, InternetScavenger. FWIW, I concur with what ScottishFinnishRadish has said here. I got involved in noticeboards very early on in my wiki-career, and came to greatly regret it. It took me years to get past a reputation as someone drawn to drama, and at one point I got blocked just for "standing too close to the fire", as it were. Much better to focus on other things. These days, even though I have enough experience that I could probably lurk at ANI all the time if I wanted, I really only show up if there's an incident I'm involved in, and I'm much happier that way. All the best. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 18:05, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Tamzin: I understand. I am noticing that i am learning a lot too
- And now you're adding maintenance templates to articles. You're pushing the envelope, inch by inch. You're not here to do admin-like work, or even the work of an experienced editor. You've been told to stop, over and over again, and yet instead of sticking to gnome-like, "safe" edits, you branch out into new inappropriate areas. I can't speak for the others who have warned you repeatedly, but you're testing my patience.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:05, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Your edits at the Guild of Copy Editors Request page
editHi InternetScavenger89, regarding your edits here, did you intend to request a copy-edit (c/e) of Brasserie Ellezelloise or to inform us you have partially copy-edited it? If it's the former, can you please clarify the request and remove the "{{partly done}}" template? The article doesn't seem promotional to me and doesn't appear to need a copy-edit. If it's the latter, this is not the purpose of the page and only copy-editors who've worked on a request but would like another editor to continue the c/e should place that template there. Please also note someone has reverted your edit at Brasserie Ellezelloise. If you don't really want a copy-edit, please either remove the subsection or place "{{withdrawn}}" below your request and sign with four tildes like this: ~~~~. Thank you, Baffle☿gab 07:29, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
- Don't worry too much about the above; seeing your edits at the article were reverted, I've removed the Partly Done template from your request, which will be dealt with dreckly. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 18:17, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Suggestion
editDo you have the Newcomer Homepage enabled? If not I think that's a good place to start. Click on Preferences at top right, scroll down to the bottom under User Profile and click on the box beside Display newcomer homepage. Among other things there is a box labeled Suggested Edits. This is a great place to begin and learn how to properly edit articles. I also highly, highly suggest you stay away from noticeboards and the like, even AfD's. Most of it is drama and you don't want to fuel that. Let the admin's do what they are here for. If you have an issue that requires the use of one of these noticeboards then use it. Twinkle can get a lot of new editors in trouble fast so disabling it until you have a better understanding was a great idea. Remember I suggested listening to others was important. Editors like @Drmies, @Bbb23 and @Tamzin are well experienced. I have watched their actions here and respect them a lot so trust me when I say taking their advice is the best thing you could do. I know you are new to Wikipedia. I know you have the best of intentions. Read, read, read! Make small edits and learn the policies. If you decide to write a new article, highly recommended, then pick something you have an interest in but is noncontroversial. Above all else, stay off noticeboards and stay away from templates until you can learn their purpose. I have never warned anyone for vandalism. I have rarely warned anyone for anything and, to my knowledge, haven't templated anyone outside welcoming them. Yet I have made my mistakes too so it happens, we all do it and its part of being bold. Still, when you are given advice, take it and apply it where appropriate. If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask. --ARoseWolf 12:58, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
editHello! I noticed you included a box for conducting how many views your user page has. Here's a tip if you're on a computer; go into the article history, and under the filter revisions tab lies a row of external tools. Hit "Page Statistics", and you can see all sorts of info about a page (including user pages), such as viewer stats, who has the most edits, the user who authored most of the page, etc. Alternatively, you can put {{Annual readership}} at the top of your talk page for quick access to viewership stats.
