WP:BRD

edit

After you boldly edited Broken Arrow murders, I reverted your edits, and you then restored your version, claiming, in part, that the original version offers little insight into what was happening during the murders. I argue that your version is inferior for the following reasons:

  1. It is full of grammar errors and run-on sentences.
  2. It introduces facts not apparently supported by the sources (e.g. the fact that Crystal was lured into the boys' bedroom in order to show her something on the computer).
  3. It breaks several of the citations. (See the large red error notices in the references section.)
  4. It adds unnecessary and lurid details that do not expand the reader's understanding of the events.

Per Wikipedia policy, when you've made an edit that is reverted, your next step is to discuss the matter at the article's talk page. I will once again revert your edits; I urge you to discuss the matter at Talk:Broken Arrow murders. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:10, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dan can you add a picture of the two suspects in the "Perpetrators" section. Interaham (talk) 14:59, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what value that would add to the article, and I doubt that there are any images available that aren't copyrighted. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:30, 25 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
What about their mugshots, arent mugshots public record? Interaham (talk) 13:27, 25 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

There doesn't appear to be any police preventing such use. The images may be copyrighted by the booking agency (the police department that arrested them), but fair use rules would apply. If you upload the images, please read the instructions on how to mark the images for fair use. See File:Scott evans dekraai booking photo.jpg for a good example. I might be wrong but it's hard to see how this edit can be an accident. I had a look at your contributuions and noticed you edit a lot of crime-related pages. Please be a bit more cautious when editing these pages and I will be in touch if more help is needed. Alexeyevitch(talk) 00:42, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Elliot Rodger

edit

Stop adding a "popular culture" section to the Elliot Rodger article when it's already listed on the 2014 Isla Vista killings article. We also do not need to add every example of someone mentioning Rodger when they commit a mass killing. Only one example is fine. Most of the sources you added are unreliable. These articles are really sensitive and require high-quality sources. If you keep doing it, I will report you to an admin. Shoot for the Stars (talk) 22:13, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2018 Toronto van attack, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sexual. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:57, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please don't add this all over the place unless there is proper sourcing, see WP:CATV. Categories should not be original research. ♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 07:17, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Broken Arrow murders

edit

Hi, why was Broken Arrow murders moved to Broken Arrow killings here? It seems that "murder" is a more appropriate description. Thanks, WWGB (talk) 08:05, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

they are both appropriate descriptions, but i moved it because it seems like the case is mostly referred to as the Broken Arrow killings Interaham (talk) 15:23, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
As I said at Jokela school shooting, it's generally not a good idea to rename articles about mass shootings (or other crime articles) without getting a consensus first. Most mass shooting articles have a title that was arrived at after a consensus built on the talk page through discussion. See WP:BEFOREMOVING for more detail.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 17:50, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I merely moved it back to it's original name, a user moved it to "Broken Arrow murders" without consensus Interaham (talk) 17:59, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Massira, Marrakesh–Safi moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Massira, Marrakesh–Safi. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:55, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
