License tagging for Image:Ohmslaw.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Ohmslaw.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:08, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate images uploaded
editThanks for uploading Image:Pinkshirtguy.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:L 996a0e68ed54d37ed1deb17c666fc046.jpg. The copy called Image:L 996a0e68ed54d37ed1deb17c666fc046.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 11:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pinkshirtguy.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Pinkshirtguy.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:35, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Windows Media Player
editRegarding your edits in the List of Microsoft Windows Components, WMP debuted in Windows Me. Older OSs included the classic Media Player, which was a different software. It did not include a media management system, nor had burning capabilities. --soum talk 09:25, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- The software you are referring to is Media Player not Windows Media Player. They are different softwares. Media Player is a deprecated software and is mentioned in the deprecated software section. The table lists only the current softwares. And I am afraid, WMP was not there in Windows 3.x. Please stop making the change unilaterally even after being pointed out. It is considered disruptive and will lead to you being barred from editing here.--soum talk 09:49, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- The addition is not wrong, it is just not in the proper place. See the discussion archives, this has played out long before. Quite many references were shown that said they were different apps altogether, not just the next version of the classic media player. As such their histories should not be mixed up. And as I already pointed out, the table does not include deprecated software applications. Thats why the entry is incorrect. --soum talk 10:12, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on ALLDATA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —— Ryan • t | c 12:26, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Electric cars
editYou recently added the following cn "the additional weight brings safety benefits despite having a negative effect on the car's performance.[citation needed]" Are you perhaps the first person in history to think that adding weight to a car will improve its performance? Articles for deletion nomination of The GodFather
editI have nominated The GodFather, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The GodFather. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Joe Chill (talk) 21:56, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Despite requests to take this to talk, you continue to edit and then write a summary that suggess an improvement adding references (which it was) bit also IN THE SAME EDIT DELETED LOADS OF OTHER CONTENT AND REFERENCES.
I and other editors have asked you to take it to talk to achieve consensus, but you do not want to hear. All I can do now is revert any edit you make to the section, which is fully reffed, and backed up by god knows how many docs, against your own POV.
PLEASE TAKE IT TO THE ARTICLE TALK THAT IS WHAT IT IS THERE FOR

editPlease stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Electric Car, you will be blocked from editing. SMS Talk 06:56, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- My Dear fellow editor, Please do not delete the content under dispute straight away. Try to solve the matter on the talk page of the article first. You can also have a Third Opinion on the issue. And beware of Three Revert Rule! Happy Editing! --SMS Talk 07:19, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- Incidentally if you recently logged out to delete the stuff again, don't, it'll get you permabanned. see WP:SOCK. Greglocock (talk) 08:06, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
Sockpuppets
editI thought you'd get an automatic warning, apparently not. I have asked for an Ip address (now two) to be checked for socks. You can defend your actions, or proclaim your innocence, at http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Imzjustplayin . I didn't mean to go behind your back. Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:51, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

editA tag has been placed on Saturn sl2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Model years vs calender years
editHi! The WP:AUTOMOBILE project decided that calender years are to be preferred over model years and that model years must be explicitly called 'model years'. This is because model years are only used in the US market and markets directly influenced by US (eg Canada, Taiwan). Most countries around the world call a vehicle introduced in early 2006 as a '2006' vehicle. Most of the readers from outside N.America are totally confused by the US system. However, we assume that most Americans know what a calendar year is, so we try very hard to use calendar years everywhere and to put months in so that Americans can see that we are using calendar years (understandable by most of the world) instead of US style model years (understandable only by Americans). Exceptions are allowed for vehicles sold purely in American markets but no exceptions are allowed for vehicles sold internationally. Cheers. Stepho talk 13:15, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
