This article needs a lot of work or it's going to be deleted. The main problem is that you're not writing it from a neutral point of view and that you're not citing from any 3rd party reliable sources. Instead you're relying on the comedian's own website and most of the statements you're adding to the article are either satirical or irrelevant. The things you write have to be verifiable. Where did you get the statement "he has had his own battles with multiple personalities, and the people that pushed him over the edge." The sentence "He began his career in 1994 as a friendly and approachable announcer introducing a new way to send certified mail" means nothing to anyone who doesn't know his comedy. Please follow the guidelines Wikipedia:Notability (people) because this biography will be deleted if it isn't improved to Wikipedia standards. --  Netsnipe  (Talk)  16:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ilovevancouver90909,

Those are nice great signs you have made... I wonder... Could I save your one of your York Regional Road sign onto my computer? (Since it's your work)

One more thing... How do you those great signs? I can't do it.... :(

Thank you for your generous help at Wikipedia, and I will shortly post your name onto the Wall of Fame onto our WikiProject (and maybe you can become an administrator at our WikiProject too...)

Highway Gothic/WikiProject/Signature

edit

Hey Ilovevancouver90909,

1st Issue:

  • Well, I downloaded the font already, but when I go to Control Panel and check for the font, I can't find anything about Highway Gothic or Hit The Road. I can't find the font at Microsoft Word or Paint. How could you do it???? Please teach me....

-- The Geography Expert--Glad to serve youChat or discuss something with meWhat I give This signature proofs that this discussion/article/section is official! 21:29, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

2nd Issue.:

  • Excellent. You can start working right this weekend (I can't work because I am busy this weekend [Christmas shopping]). However, I can still log on to Wikipedia to do minor edits. To begin with, I wish that you can complete the public transportation list in York Regional Road 1, and strat creating article on York Regional Road 8A and York Regional Road 9. (Stubs are fine, but preferrably 5 categories in each article).

P.S. It is an excellent job that you have done in York Regional Road 73 about the massive overhaul.

(However, please do not create anymore massive overhaul until November 2007. This is because we have many more articles about roads in the GTA to create. We need to focus some of our attention towards the Peel Region and Halton Region beginning in the January 2007. Massive overhaul of all articles would not begin until November 2007, and would last until January 2009. For Details, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Golden Horseshoe Roads.)

I APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT!!

3rd Issue: To create a signature like mine, you need HTML codes. If you don't mind, I have a suggestion:

I can create the signature for you, but you have to tell me what kind of colour you want for the links, and what kind of words you want to write in the signature box.

Can't think of something to talk about? Well, comment on my new signature! (I know it sucks)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Brian Sack.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Brian Sack.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Being Administartor at WP:GHR

Hi Ilovevancouver90909,

As you know, our administrator of our WP:GHR, RaccoonFox had left Wikipedia early in December 2006. Traditionally, we have two administrators for our WP:GHR. I want to invite you to be one. Your responsibilities would include assess articles, and clean-up after articles. Of couse, you can also do what other members could do, write more articles!

Please let me know if you had made a decision after you had finish your exam. (Which you should, I finished mine already.

P.S. I am trying to invite PKT to be our clean-up counsellor, but he did not make a decision yet, please urge him to do so. Thank you.

WP:GHR Updates

edit

Hi again Ilovevancouver90909,

  • Okay, I will post you as an administrator in mid-February. Meanwhile, RaccoonFox will be still an "Administrator", despite the fact he is away from Wikipedia. Your name will be posted on February 14.
  • I think so too, that we should not put links around the TTC and YRT Routes. However, it would be interesting to start articles of bus routes (that is, after we finished all the regional roads), maybe 5 years later.
  • Thank you so much for starting York Regional Road 7, I had always wanted to start it, but I simply had no time at all. Thank you!
  • Yes, I had been to Ninth Line, or ever drove on it. I think it is bumpy because of the constructions of the road, the future community of Cornell, and Markham-Stouffville Hospital.

I nominated York Regional Roads as a featured list, what do you think about it? Please make an opinion.

Also, please find someone that will be willing to be our help of clean-up counselor. We are in-need of one.

Our WikiProject will be continuing to create articles of York Regional Roads, Durham Regional Roads, and Simcoe County Roads. In the near future, we will start on Peel Regional Roads and Halton Regional Roads.

Also, when you create new articles of Golden Horseshoe Roads, be sure to put a template {{Component of Golden Horseshoe Roads}} on the discussion page of the article. You can also rate it by typing

Anyways, there is no way for me to show you how to type the code here, edit my post and see the code.

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Golden Horseshoe Roads/Articles' Qualities for details.

Thank you! If you have any questions, or the 3Cs, please tell me!

Happy editing,

--Smcafirst or NickSign HereChit-ChatContribs at 15:51, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you are not sure how to make a template like that, edit my post and view the code I typed.

Hi Ilovevancouver90909,

Which part of Warden Avenue are you going to start an article on? I really want to start York Regional Road 65, but I want to ask you which part (Warden Arvenue-in Toronto; or York Regional Road 65-in York Region) do you want to create. I don't want to create an article where you want to create one. (You might stalk me or kill me at St. A, just as you said.)

New Articles - All Saints Catholic Elementary School

edit

Hi Ilovevancouver90909,

I started another article. It is my elementary school, All Saints Catholic Elementary School. Could you proofread it (You know that Grade 10s' literacy skills are way better than a helpless Grade 8's).

Alright then, I will start creating Warden Avenue (Toronto Part) by February 5. Also, starting from February 7 to March 8, I will be on WikiBreak. I have to go to some sort of credit courses for high school. However, I will be able to edit during weekends. Just to take note of that.

By the way, I thought you mentioned of stalking or something.

I noticed that you have restarted a few articles, and it looks much better. Thank you! Just to let you know, Colonies Chris would be here in our WP:GHR, and would start cleaning-up articles. So, you can focus your time making new articles.

I would be starting articles, such as Warden Avenue, Civic Center Drive (this is a stub, I was doing this article while my mom urged me to do CPT, please do fix it) and Peel Regional Road 107 (These articles should be created before I go to my credit course thing, my CPT is due February 7).

Take a look, I cleaned-up York Regional Road 1.

P.S. Would you like to visit All Saints Catholic Elementary School some day? Tell me the date you are coming if you want to have a visit.

Hi Ilovevancouver90909, I hereby want to invite you to join our WikiProject's outreach department. What you do is simple: First, you start a base page (I, Qmwnebrvtcyxuz, Colonies Chris) will help you out. The Outreach department is like a bulletin board, putting news on there. One more thing you do is to recruit new members, and that is VERY important. I already started the page for you already, check it out: Wikipedia:WikiProject Golden Horseshoe Roads/Outreach Department. I have listed you as the leader of the department, and Qmwnebrvtcyxuz be the supervisor. It means that you do not have to worry the department much, unless emergencies, whereupon Qmwnebrvtcyxuz will contact you.

Compound Message- WP:GHR, My new signature, and your last visit at All Saints

edit

Hi Ilovevancouver90909,

Through this message, I have 3 things to discuss with you. First is about WP:GHR, second is my new signature, and third of all, your visit to All Saints.

1. Recently, RaccoonFox's userpage has just deleted. As Wikipedia's policy, it is rightful to remove RaccoonFox out of our active participant list. His name will be placed under inactive participant. We need a new leader, and you will be our co-leader starting on Valentine's Day (just to make it a special day). Also, I invited Bacl-presby as one of our members. Please tell him what to do. Next, please fix up the Outreac department or ask someone else to do it. I also started a new subpage of WP:GHR, called Sample Article. (The link is:WP:GHR/Sample Article) Thank you!

2. I have been complaint (how to spell the past tence of complain... Complaint?) by Tragic Baboon that my signature is too distracted to the eye, please review my signature and tell me what you think.

3. I hope to see you soon on Thursday, February 15, 2007. But please be note that I will be leaving quite early for the course (maybe 3:25 to 3:30)! The course should be finished before March Break. So, if you visit after the March Break, we might have a chance to talk as I am able to leave later.

Let me ask you a few question (just out of curiousity):

  • What did Ms.Holman said about me during your visit?
  • Did you tell Ms.Holman that you know me through Wikipedia?

Happy Valentines Day,

 Smcafirst | Chit-Chat  posted at 03:40, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your Visit at All Saints Catholic Elementary School , Outreach Department, Highway 6 By-Pass, future expansion of the project.

edit

Hi Wilson, (Is it okay for me to call you "Wilson" instead of "Ilovevancouver90909" from now on?)

By the way, let me ask you few questions (again, out of nothing but curiousity):

  • Did you tell Ms. Holman what kind of contributions we make at Wikipedia? If not, maybe you can tell her later this week.
  • Did you explain what Wikipedia is to Ms. Holman? I think it would be a great experience if we both try to explain Wikipedia to her (that might not be possible, I have to go to the course.)

So, back to Wikipedia. If you have time on the weekend, you might want to recruit some new members, just scroll through pages under our WikiProject, and then find someone that had edited the page numerous times and ask them to join! Be sure to add their names under The Pending Members List. I invited Nhl4hamilton as a new member, and so did Littleghostboo as invited by Qmwnebrvtcyxuz.

Now, Highway 6 By-Pass. It is another new article that I had created. However, I have no clue of what kind of fonts do Hamilton Road signs use? Do you have any clue?

I am planning on expanding WP:GHR, although it looks pretty big now. I think it has room to grow. I was thinking, if we just make articles about roads, that would be pretty dull. I was thinking that maybe, we would slowly expanding our projects, not just road included, but also surrounding communities, and municipalities are also included. You know, which make the project more colourful. I would start the expansion around August 2007 (not July, I am on VACATION. WHEEEEE!)

So, are you planning on "dating" with your girlfriend tomorrow? Well, I am not, because I do not have one (I am very shy). Anyways, happy Valentine's Day!

Last thing, they say that there is a storm brewing in our neighbourhood. I hope school is closed tomorrow, which means more Wikipedia time!

This is the longest message yet by,

edit

Hi Wilson,

You know what? Today is valentines day (and of course snow day), as I had promised, I will put you as an administrator. Is that okay?

Next of all, I would like to start a maintenance department by this weekend. This will possibly be a department where people fix grammars and style, and you might like to join too? So far, Colonies Chris and Littleghostboo are good candidates of this job.

Last of all (that fast?! Well, it's time to sleep, tomorrow is a NEW day!), I would like to collect information from all of our members as where do they live in relation to Golden Horseshoe. If you have time, you may want to do that. (I know high school is difficult.) So far, I know where you, Nhl4hamilton (lives in Hamilton) , Alex200 (lives in Stouffville, he's my friend); Stephy100 (lives in Markham, she's my sister); CSI or CIS (lives in Burlington); Mix Precipitation (lives in Barrie); and I live.

York Regional Road Signs

edit

A plethora of these have been listed at Category:Images which should be in SVG format, and I'm looking to convert them all (to eliminate a bit of backlog). Unfortunately, I'm having trouble matching the font you've used. Did you use the genuine Highway Gothic (E?), or have you used a clone or got a close match with a more common font? I can't afford $65 just for a font right now... Cheers, Stannered 23:04, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

So it is actually a genuine Highway Gothic font... so I can't afford to clear this particular section of the backlog... *sigh* Stannered 23:33, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Gah, can't believe I completely misunderstood your message - found the font you referred to now and laid waste to the plethora of {{Convert to SVG}} tags. Stannered 10:42, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Old YRT Logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. WP:GHR's Project Progress

edit

Hi Wilson,

I haven't been going on Wikipedia lately, and even I do, I mainly tracked how the rest of the team are doing on Roads articles on different parts of the Golden Horseshoe. It was so busy lately (i.e. Montreal trip, Graduation, Projects, etc.).

Enclosed is a map of census divisions (so, counties/ regions / cities), and colour coded to show how are we doing in different parts of the Golden Horseshoe, and how much articles are written. Over the summer, I will create another similar one. The white parts of the map means that we will start to work on these areas, after the expansion of the project. (So, that is, after the creation of WP:QCWC.

Two problem images

edit

Greetings! I noticed you uploaded Image:MarkhamLogo.gif and Image:MarkhamCOA.jpg. Please understand that images you found somewhere on the web do not have their rights transferred to you when you download them to your computer, and then up to Wikipedia. The original creators of the images retain rights. As such, I've retagged the first image with {{Non-free logo}} and the second as not specifying a copyright. In the latter case, this places the image for deletion unless an appropriate license is added to the image. If you have questions about the above or image licensing in general, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 15:21, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nice template you have there. I am only worried about one thing, is that the template is SUPER huge, and that it would be nice to downsize it, just by a little bit. I will be doing some work in downsizing it for, probably the rest of the summer, then I'll just go POOF away from Wikipedia, since I will be busy with my homework as I enter grade 9.

I won't probably edit again until the next PA day (when is that?)

P.S. Shouldn't the template called "Topics on Markham", instead of "Topics in Markham"?

Hi again,

As promised before (see my last message), I promised to downsize the template. It took me quite some time to do it, but I think it's worth it. I've also added some of the links that weren't there, such as Markham Public Libraries, and a master template that connects our topic template with other Ontario cities, such as Toronto, London, etc. see it for yourself:

Topics on Markham

Would the template be too narrow?

Hi again and again,
I've added the template "Topic on Markham" to most of the links. Some thing to tell you though : I did not add templates to York Regional Roads, the police, sister cities, shopping centres, education, and communities, as it would duplicate some other templates, such as Template:York Regional Roads, and Template:Communities of Markham.

Hi Wilson,

Remember I promised you to shorten the transportation part of the {{Topics on Markham}} template? I came up a way in making an article, which kind of represent everything you wrote in the transportation part.

Please proofread (I hate proofreading), update, edit, cite reference, DO SOMETHING to improve this article, Transportation in Markham, Ontario.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:MarkhamLogo.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:MarkhamLogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:47, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Bur Oak Avenue

edit

I have nominated Bur Oak Avenue, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bur Oak Avenue. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Johnny Au (talk) 02:03, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bur Oak Avenue

edit

I apologize for making the mistake of thinking that the article was created by the same person who created the other two pages that are currently up for deletion; he is the person who creates hundreds of articles about residential streets, not you. However, I would call your attention to WP:OUTCOMES, which clarifies that road articles are not typically kept on the basis of being a major thoroughfare within a suburban city. And any article can be deleted from Wikipedia, no matter how long it's been here, if it doesn't meet the inclusion and sourcing standards spelled out in Wikipedia policy.

As well, the 1999 atlas issue was raised because a road becomes notable enough for an encyclopedia article based on its cultural or social history, not just the mere fact that it exists. If I had questions about whether the road existed or not, I'd go to Google Maps, not a ten-year-old atlas. I'm not that stupid. The point was that as a road that's been built within the past ten years, it doesn't have enough of a history to be a valid article topic. Roads get articles on the basis of being the centre of American theatre, formerly considered the longest street in the world, the home of several major national institutions or generally recognized as one of the world's most exclusive shopping districts, to name just four examples. Roads do not qualify for articles just because they exist as a crosslink between two regional roads in a city of 260,000 people.

And finally, please be aware that any further posts to my talk page in the tone you took the first time will be removed immediately, and may even get you a temporary editblock for violating WP:CIVIL. Bearcat (talk) 22:24, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Image:Inside YRT.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Inside YRT.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Inside YRT.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Sdrtirs (talk) 03:43, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:YRT Logo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:YRT Logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 07:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Image:YRT Logo.jpg

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:WrongSignat400Rutherford.png

edit

The file File:WrongSignat400Rutherford.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Personal file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
