Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to 2022 NBA Finals, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 05:39, 3 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

The citation clearly says 20. If it actually was 30 then you could at least try to provide proof. Otherwise it just becomes disruptive vandalism, which can lead to a block. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:38, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
The official announcement and The instagram post clearly states 30. How is an article by some batsh1t media more reliable than the official announcement on the official site? This dude is either trolling or high. IcedChocolate (talk) 02:45, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Discuss simple disputes like this on the talk page and assume good faith while you do it. Sergecross73 msg me 11:30, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
It does seems to be 30 in total prior to several being disqualified from advancing in the playoff stage, which has 20. But why couldn't you add a citation that clearly stated this upon the first revert? The WP:BURDEN is on you to cite new claims. And read WP:PRIMARY for why third-party citations take priority over self-published announcements. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 22:05, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
And so the total number of teams participating is 30. Bro cant count. IcedChocolate (talk) 03:04, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's a two way street. You completely failed to explain this in any capacity, choosing to edit war instead. Wikipedia is a collaborative project. You need to be able to be civil and work with others. If you don't cut it out with all these unconstructive "bro can't count" and "guy is trolling" type comments, you're going to end up with your account temporarily blocked. This is your second warning to assume good faith of other editors. Sergecross73 msg me 10:55, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to 2022 NBA Finals. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 06:00, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this edit is entirely inappropriate for an encyclopedia. We don't write like we're pretending to be sportscasters giving their post-game analysis. Wikipedia is not the place to give personal editorials with informal wording like that. Please stop. Sergecross73 msg me 11:33, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Recent Interaction with 'hostile' editor

edit

Hello, and thank you for your assistance in reverting egregious edits on Choi Sung-bong. But I would like to address how you responded to the editor. Despite the inappropriate location, wording, and aggressive edit summaries of the user, they did present a source and were here to contribute to the wikipedia. Yes their edits needed reverting, but dropping a vandalism UWT on their talk page with no further communication was not an optimal course of action. I would suggest that their edits did not constitute vandalism but rather ill-advised first edits on the wikipedia. Because they were dismissed as vandals, they felt attacked and ignored. Remember to assume good faith when dealing with new users. I would suggest the next time a similar edit occurs revert the edit and refer to their talk page, and take the time to write out something guiding them to BLP guidelines and wikipedia standards on Neutral Point-of-View. Instruct them on how identify reliable sources as relevant to BLP and if appropriate, to make a new section regarding a controversy, especially if the claims are easily accessible or even confirmed by the subject. What's done is done, but please try to see the best in willing-to-contribute editors going forward. Thank you for your time. GabberFlasted (talk) 17:25, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
