Image compression
I just wanted to say i'm sorry for compressing this image recently. I just thought that it was too big for a non-free game cover. In case you're wondering, this is the website I used to compress the cover. DBZFan30 (talk) 16:39, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- WP:NFCC doesn't mention file size, so I do not believe the image's non-free status has anything to do with that. But if we can make the file smaller without sacrificing noticeable quality, then yeah, that's good.--IDVtalk 17:54, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- @IDV: I don't think we have to worry about my versions of the cover anymore. One of the admins recently deleted all the unused versions and we'll never have to see them again. Also, the only way to make a file smaller without damaging the quality is to upload a high-quality PNG file, have one of the bots reduce the size of it, and then have one of the admins delete the high quality version a week later. DBZFan30 (talk) 21:39, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- All right.--IDVtalk 21:56, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi, this TFA has just been scheduled for the 16th. To answer the questions you asked at TFAR: David Levy deals with images, generally a day or two before the article appears at TFA, and there aren't any fixed rules for the TFA text. I generally write the text, and then anyone who wants something different can edit it or leave a message on my talk page. - Dank (push to talk) 15:39, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Second opinon on a Japanese-only game
I've been trying to minimizing the Request board for some time and been trying to figure out if the last [2014] is notable enough for its own article. Since you understand Japanese, can you check to see if there's enough sources about it to warrant a page? GamerPro64 21:34, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- @GamerPro64: My Japanese is quite limited, but sure. There are at least 16 articles about it on 4Gamer.net ([1]), at least two on Famitsu ([2]), and one in English on Polygon ([3]). You could probably put together a decent article using this.--IDVtalk 21:49, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

- @Sergecross73: No problem! Thanks for putting together an article on Cold Steel II, I've been thinking for some time now that the three entries in that sub-series should have enough coverage to warrant separate articles.--IDVtalk 20:56, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, same here, I've wanted to for a while, but was afraid to do much source digging, in fear I may stumble across spoilers. I beat the first one about half a year ago, and don't plan on on starting up the second one until much later in the year, so I figured now was the time to take a stab at it. Luckily, I didn't stumble across any. And yeah, I'm planning on starting up a short article for the third entry soon too. Sergecross73 msg me 21:10, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Melissa leach
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Melissa leach. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Melissa Leach. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Melissa Leach – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cahk (talk) 20:53, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Cahk: Well, I did not create a duplicate of Melissa Leach - I moved Melissa leach to its current name as it was not capitalized properly, which I guess automatically created a redirect. Also, I hope I don't sound rude, but aside from this message not really applying to this situation, it feels strange to get a message that introduces me to how Wikipedia works after I've been here for years.--IDVtalk 21:14, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @IDV: I recognize that, and apologize for it - I use Twinkle and it automatically tags the author with the template messaging. --Cahk (talk) 22:57, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
Hansdar (talk) 21:20, 12 March 2017 (UTC) Hi there, thank you for the feedback, this is my first wikipedia page, and from the user you maybe able to see both the pages (original and duplicate page) has been created from my account, its just due to some sort of confusion. Please can you help me delete the second page (Melissa leach) and keep the one which has the name written properly as Melissa Leach), as I am not familiar with how redirect works. For a first timer on Wikipedia its too much information to process.
a very small opinion on 'akiba's trip?'
I'm not sure if to ask the question here or at Akiba's Trips' talk page? so from this edit [4]? Then do we just don't add that, unless if any show 'did' end yet? But in the next edit or 2? Err? After that the episode info part changed to 13, and for the moment there's only 12? So, do I change it back to '12?' Or leave it as is? Tainted-wingsz (talk) 16:28, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Tainted-wingsz: I apologize, but your English is difficult to understand. If I understand you correctly, the answer is that we only increment the episode number when new episodes air, unless we have a reliable source that says how many episodes there will be.--IDVtalk 16:41, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- (a tad late to say this?) Umm, yes. Right now the source only tells there's 12 episodes? But later there will be 13. The last one, next week. So, then in the meantime the info box only says there's 13 episodes? But really there is only 12 so far? And I'm not sure if I try to change it back to 12, would someone else put it as 13, again? If it hasn't aired yet? Tainted-wingsz (talk) 17:52, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- If only 12 episodes have aired, and you don't have a source saying the series will be 13 episodes long, it should stay at 12 until the 13th episode has aired. But I'm not really involved in this article - it would better to discuss it on the Akiba's Trip talk page or at the anime and manga wikiproject.--IDVtalk 19:10, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Gakkou de atta Kowai Hanashi
Thanks for your edit summary on the de-PRODing of this article. It's always refreshing to see a de-PROD that provides an actual justification. Also, my apologies; I usually do check the corresponding articles on non-English Wikipedias before proposing an article for deletion, but for whatever reason I forgot to do that this time, hence the PROD.--Martin IIIa (talk) 13:37, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Code 18
Hi. Just for kicks, I did some digging, and put together an rudimentary gameplay section for you for Code_18. Sorry if it's inaccurate or something, but I was working from third-hand intel and my researcher's gut on a game that's got a bigger info deficit problem than any other I've ever encountered. --ProtoDrake (talk) 23:12, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake: Thanks! Yeah... Infinity is a niche series already, and this was a reboot that took the series in a completely different direction than what the existing fans like the series for, so I guess it's not too strange that there isn't a lot of post-release RS coverage of it. All the article is lacking now is some information on its critical reception - I know there is a review of it in the Famitsu Xbox 360 magazine, but I have been unable to find any information about that review on the internet, beyond what score it was given.--IDVtalk 23:23, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Steins;Gate Anime World Lines
Hello, you keep deleting a brief summary of the World Lines in Steins;Gate Anime.
At first, you said it does not belong in List of Steins;Gate episodes, so I moved it. You also said it's "too in-depth", even though it's a very brief summary.
You then immediately deleted it again from Steins;Gate (anime), under Plot. You said it's "just retelling the story a second time". But nowhere on Wikipedia is there a summary of the World Lines in this anime. If it is retelling the story (i.e., if you say there would be two ways to tell the story), then you can keep World Lines but delete the plot, because the plot would be redundant?
Put differently, one can figure out at a top level what's going on with the summary of the World Lines. But one can be absolutely lost reading the plot. So the summary is superior to the plot, if you intent to just keep either World Lines or plot.
Are you just biased?
This anime is absolutely confusing without a summary of World Lines to tie the plot together.
How would you make the plot less confusing? The only thing I can think of is to list the major World Lines as I have done.
Could you please be not so rude and keep deleting things? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.8.207.91 (talk) 16:16, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, just butting in as an outside opinion: this kind of information isn't really suited for an encyclopedia like Wikipedia because it loses sight of the real-world perspective and presents somewhat of an abundance of in-universe information: more than is needed to understand the anime's real-world impact, that is. This kind of information is best collected on a fan-wiki, like here. Fiction wikis like you find on Wikia are the best resource for this kind of in-depth information. Personally, I like to go even further with this and only write plot-sections based on what I can find in reliable sources, but most people try to write a short synopsis of a story that "gets the idea across" themselves, and that's fine. Going into detail like this, though, creating a whole timeline of events of sorts, is really lending the story undue weight. That being said, if the plot section is currently confusing, then perhaps there are other solutions? The article is a "GA", though, so it should already be pretty well-written. ~Mable (chat) 17:57, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Minor Maken Note
Hi there. This came out of nowhere for me, but I've decided to bring Maken X to GA status. I've already got the foundations together in my sandbox. I never realised just how many firsts this title represents for Atlus - first title for the Dreamcast, first fully 3D title, first use of 3D full-motion CGI cutscenes, first title to feature full voice acting, directorial debut of Katsura Hashino, first title designed with international release in mind... Just, wow. Also, I'll be merging the stub for Maken Shao as there's not enough information to justify two articles.
Just thought I'd let my fellow Atlus fan know I'm doing something impossible again. Us two seem to have done the impossible multiple times with MegaTen and Atlus. --ProtoDrake (talk) 19:35, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake: Good stuff! I've never played Maken, but yeah, seems like a landmark title for Atlus, so nice to see it getting some attention. And, ha, well, I don't think I've done "the impossible" with any Atlus articles - my solo articles on Atlus stuff all rely heavily on easily-accessible English sources. This reminds me that I've yet to do any serious work on Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse - might be good to get that one done before more info starts coming in for the SMT they announced for the Switch.--IDVtalk 20:50, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
About references for Exogenesis
I understand your PROD removal, but for the article Exogenesis: Perils of Rebirth in particular, I still don't think it meets WP:GNG even with the references you posted. The articles are from reliable sources, but are about the game's Kickstarter, not the game itself. The game itself was cancelled, so there will likely never be any more info on it. It's hard to claim that a complete vaporware title is notable. I think the article was WP:CRYSTALBALL in the first place.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:35, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Zxcvbnm: Exogenesis's production sure seems to have been troubled, but it's still in development as of May this year. I'll take a second look at the refs I added - if they're not enough to build a decent article around, then I'm fine with moving the article into draft space until more information is available.--IDVtalk 19:47, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- @IDV: Seeing as the creator didn't mention any specific release date I think that would be advised. If the game ever gets released and gets significant reception it could be moved out of drafts.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 00:29, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
