Rodney Atkins' "In a Heartbeat" was inded a single and didn't just chart from unsolicited airplay. I can't find it right now, but I do have an old Country America magazine from 1997 that lists it as being his debut single, even if it only peaked at #74. Album cuts and LeAnn Rimes

Sometimes the album cut thing is just pure logic. For instance, all of Garth's album cuts from Sevens were obviously album cuts, as they were charting in the 60s and 70s while the actual singles ("Two Piña Coladas", "She's Gonna Make It", etc.) were zooming up the charts. Obviously, the album tracks like "Belleau Wood", "Cowboy Cadillac", etc. weren't officially released.

Also, I'll double check all of LeAnn's peaks. This PDF is a great resource that lists the entire chart history (albeit about 2-3 mos. out of date) for every single ever issued by Curb Records. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • ^{(Broken clamshells•Otter chirps)} 05:55, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I totally reworked the singles table for LeAnn Rimes, adding peaks for Adult Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40. Working with 11 different columns was a pain but I think I've got everything lined up right now. (I didn't notice that the Brian McFadden duet's peak had been in the wrong column until the revamp.) The way I see fit isn't necessarily the right way, I'm just following the WP:FLC criteria. If other users see your way as better, I won't argue with that. But, I'll admit you're a good editor in resolving the pointless dispute between us. Here is why I'm awarding you this barnstar:

However, I must stress the fact that holding a vote on the inclusion of dashes is unneccessary. This is because in the article, there is a table with blanks in it already. That is in the singles table. The blanks represent the fact that the CAN Hot 100 was not established at the time of the single. I appreciate the additions, as Canadian country music is underrepresented at Wikipedia and sourced chart positions are difficult to find, but I think it's best to hold off on peaks that are obviously wrong and only add recent albums. Eric444 (talk) 06:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

The only reason the article is at the way you haven't been actively partaking in discussions after the first nomination of Carrie Underwood discography, so myself and other users assumed that the article was stable. However, I can admit that I, myself have been hasty with the sudden changes of the article and I am sorry. I do apologise. Nevertheless, other users are happy with the changes and they haven't voiced any concerns or objections. If you do have concerns or objections, please, leave them on the talk page or now, the article's WP:FLC nomination as we are promoting the article for FLC. I've undid the changes you made, when you based it on the vote we had awhile ago. I must stress that the article should remain stable for the time being, as it is under the WP:FLC nomination. If we must have a vote, please, hold it off until the FLC discussion finishes and the vote should occur outside Talk:Carrie Underwood discography so other experienced editors can peer review the article and judge for themselves. I know that I've been a real pain in the arse the last couple of months, for that I apologise. I have taken abroad your suggestions on the 'aligning left' of the albums, but it does look really messy. Take a look and see what you think. Before He Cheats

Hey, in regards to the organisation of "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood on her page, "Before He Cheats" shouldn't be in the "other charted singles" field, because it went seamlessly from being an album cut to a single. If it were a case like Shiftwork, which entered as an album cut, fell out, and then re-entered once it became a single, then we list it separately. The table for other charted songs is for songs which were not officially released as a single but charted due to unsolicted airply. I agree with Omghgomg here. "Before He Cheats" did go straight from album cut to single. Therefore, we can list it under the singles table with a footnote that says that it charted before it was released. No need to list it twice — it's not like Shiftwork or Suspicions, which entered as an album cut, then fell out. If you disagree, you might want to file a request for comment. You and I seem to be butting heads over this and I think it's time that we addressed it. Why are you removing wiki-links from various discography articles? Why do you keep re-adding the United World Chart to the discography pages? This afd made it pretty clear that the World chart is not notable and should not be included on discography pages. Taylor Swift

What is your deal with the Taylor Swift discography? Your not providing an edit summary for what your doing. Also, anytime the Top 40 Mainstream chart is listed in a table, the proper name to list it is "US T40 Main", which is correct. Just "US Main" is invalid. It's just not correct. Like you said, for the Mainstream Rock Tracks, it should be "US Main Rock" or "US Mod Rock", but this is different. Top 40 Mainstream..."US T40 Main", what's wrong with that? Dashes

I saw your post on TenPoundHammer's page.

Dashes are a subject of debate on Wikipedia. I've seen an admin. somewhere (I'll have to look for that) commenting that dashes are the way to go; that way, it doesn't look like you just overlooked the data, but clearly that it was not found. I share that view and think the dashes are constructive on the page, hence why I also earlier reverted your revert of his edit after his complaints on TPH's page. You will also note, looking at the Kenny Rogers page, that I've also "dashed" his discography as well, and once I'm done putting in albums, I will spend a bit of time looking in the listed charts and additional worldwide charts (expanding the table as I go) to see if albums and singles charted there.

I also saw that EnDaLeCoMpLeX took out a citation you added with his earlier edit, and put it back in with my edit.

I myself am interested in improvement of country music articles. That's probably why I hang around TPH's page and try to help out. I'm heading over to check out the Sugarland discography right now to see what's happened today. In fact, I am also interested in your views on the progress of Rogers' discography and his album articles. =) CycloneGU (talk) 03:45, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes discographies

Can i kindly ask you to stop using a color code legend on the discographies of Rascal Flatts and LeAnn Rimes, and Sugarland as well. This is not the way discographies are designed on Wikipedia. I suggest to discuss your ideas before you make drastic changes to discographies such as this one. I in fact do not have to discuss my ideas with making that type of album discography for LeAnn Rimes because it is the REQUIREMENT OF ALL DISCOGRAHIES. It just took some time for country music articles to adapt the idea. For reference see the discographies of Carrie Underwood and Diamond Rio, which are both FEATURED WIKIPEDIA ARTICLES. This is basically how they should be set up. Using a strange-colored legend will make any reader reading the discography confused. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 02:52, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

I wasn't trying to be rude, in fact I was trying to help you. You must think what would be easier for the reader to view on the page. Adding a colored legend only confuses people and adding such marks as colons and asterisks only confuses the reader even more. It's much easier to have a unified system. It's easy to understand why it works so well, this is how it is used on every good discography article on Wikipedia. If it didn't work, then I wouldn't use it you see. Please don't threaten me or any other users with saying you will readd the legend. This only makes more problems, so please don't threaten others. I hope you will understand. I'm sorry if you thought I was being rude. I wasn't trying to be, I was just aggravated. I really do appreciate you keeping a calmness with your post, and I have a few things to say. The things is, other times people have said that filling in the boxes with the dashes and denoting it at the bottom, which is what I do. "—" denotes the single failed to chart, or not released." Canadian chart positions are unknown from November 2000 to June 2004." I don't see why dashes can't go in those boxes from 2000 to 2004.

When their are empty ones, it could be confusing to the reader why some boxes have those and some don't. I even had my mom look at one of the discographies, and she asked "why are lines in some of the rows, and others not?" I'm in the middle of getting Billy Ray Cyrus discography to FL, and I was told to make a note about the Pop 100. I was told to use "The Pop 100 was created until 2005". You can see everything at Billy Ray Cyrus discography.

I've only complained to other users because you don't seem to listen to me, or just listen at all. Thats what aggravated me the most that wouldn't listen. I told User:Dottiewest1fan about removing the format field in table formats, but that didn't work out to well. I think its useless, and makes the tables too large. If someone wants to see the format, thats what the album page is for. IMO, I don't have a problem with repetition. It doesn't bother me.
