editHi Hcm2021! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Ivan Moody that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Ivan Moody. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. And how is it that a copyrighted picture that has been online since at least 2017 was supposedly taken in 2020? https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/record-labels/9617961/aerosmith-universal-music-group-deal/ Meters (talk) 17:16, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- And you cannot upload someone else's work as your own work. Meters (talk) 17:20, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Good afternoon, Meters - apologies for the minor edit mixup. This photo was confirmed taken on February 8th, 2020. The Billboard article was revised last week per the request of Ivan Moody's management team, the original date can be confirmed by the meta tag data within the photo that is uploaded. The conflict of interest is an UNPAID connection to Ivan Moody's management team, they are requesting any valid media sources to update the images of Ivan Moody to a more recent photo (2020). Five Finger Death Punch (Ivan Moody's band is the copyright holder) Hcm2021 (talk) 18:16, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Did you actually read WP:COI? It covers much more than just paid editing. And you do not have the right to upload an image for which you do not own the copyright. It is not your work
- Please explain your connection to user:OceanRockLegend and the apparent COI. You uploaded an image to which you not own the copyright, and you stated in your edit summary that you were changing the image
by request of Ivan Moody and his management Team
. Meters (talk) 18:45, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
I have included a COI tag in this talk page at the top, per the COI page you linked. The management team is currently sending an email to the permissions-commons@wiki email to release the copyright, per the copyright issue. I'm not exactly sure how to update the copyright information from "self" to "Five Finger Death Punch" as directions aren't very clear Hcm2021 (talk) 19:17, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
In addition to my comment above, OceanRockLegend is Ivan Moody's Manager - we are not the same user. We are music industry colleagues. Does this answer your question more clearly? Happy to provide other information to answer any other questions Hcm2021 (talk) 19:26, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- What does "music industry colleagues" mean? Do you work for him? Does he work for you? Do you work for the same company? Are you an intern? Did OceanRockLegend ask you to make this edit? There's clearly some connection between the two of you since OceanRockLegend very quickly responded to my raising he issues with the image. And there appears to be some connection between you and Ivan Moody's management team since you very quickly managed to arrange for his management team to email permissions-commons@wiki . Note that OceanRockLegend has already been blocked as an undisclosed paid editor (WP:UPE). Meters (talk) 19:48, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
As stated in my other comment, OceanRockLegend is Ivan Moody's Manager AND Five Finger Death Punch's manager. What does "music industry colleagues" mean? Professional Friends Do you work for him? No Does he work for you? No Do you work for the same company? No, he is Ivan Moody and Five Finger Death Punch's Manager at 10th Street Entertainment, I am not. Are you an intern? No Did OceanRockLegend ask you to make this edit? Yes, as he ran into issues with have edits approved despite being the absolute truth source as the band's manager There's clearly some connection between the two of you since OceanRockLegend very quickly responded to my raising he issues with the image. Yes, as I disclosed before, we are professional colleagues. I mentioned to him that the image was removed after the update and he saw your comment as to why it was removed and wanted to provide accurate information about the image being updated on Billboard's article And there appears to be some connection between you and Ivan Moody's management team since you very quickly managed to arrange for his management team to email permissions-commons@wiki . Yes, the manager is on this thread. He was able to see your comment about the image. Through the pages you linked, I was able to find the proper way to have the image rights released. I hope this answered all of your questions clearly in regards to the COI, again please let me know if there's any more information I can provide. Hcm2021 (talk) 20:06, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Please read WP:MEATPUPPET. You made an edit for a paid editor who has now been blocked for not declaring his COI status. And according to what you have written (more than once), either he has lied about not being Ivan Moody's manager [1] or you are mistaken. Meters (talk) 02:24, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Hcm2021. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Ivan Moody, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Since you are editing "at the request of Ivan Moody and his management Team" you appear to have a conflict of interest. Please explain. Meters (talk) 17:27, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
