Just in case it's helpful, there's an under-documented feature in the visual editor that may be useful to you. You can create a table on a wiki page by opening the visual editor and then dragging and dropping a .csv into the page. Find a .csv file and then click this URL: https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Whatamidoing_(WMF)/sandbox?veaction=edit if you want to play around with it.
