Image:Samaire Armstrong.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Samaire Armstrong.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 23:01, 19 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for Image:Bloodsport Promo 1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bloodsport Promo 1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Today, there was a merger of Category:Martial Artist Wikipedians into Category:Wikipedian martial artists. This resulted in a userbox {{User:TonyTheTiger/Userboxes/Martialartist}} being added to the category. This userbox is available to you. TonyTheTiger 20:33, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bloodsport Promo 4.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bloodsport Promo 4.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:41, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Bloodsport III.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bloodsport III.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Le Pacte Des Loups.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Le Pacte Des Loups.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Trilogies

edit

[1] for bond, Ghostbusters III, The Dark Knight 2, XXX3 and Transformers 3 haven't even entered pre-production. Imdb entries are not considered reliable. There are no Riddick 2 or 3 in production or even with a script. And there is no point listing a series which has no wikilinks, or in the case of the Spider-man "trilogy" is nothing more than a bunch of TV episodes. Darrenhusted (talk) 12:00, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Imdb cannot be used as an RS that a film is being made, however if you read the Daniel Craig link then you would see that the imdb are quoting an interview with The Sun. When the sequels to Dark Knight, Transformers 2, xXx and Ghostbusters are released then add them. Otherwise that page will be lists of films people wish were being made rather than actual trilogies. Darrenhusted (talk) 12:22, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I agree with Darrenhusted. There will always films that are announced and partially developed but never actually make it to production. In addition, I think it is too shift to label three films in a row, if they have all at least been in production, as a trilogy. For example, why would Craig being in Bond 23 mean that Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Bond 23 is a trilogy? What if Craig continues to make the films? What if someone replaces him but keeps the contemporary angle? As for Nolan's Batman films, it's still not set in stone that a third Batman film will be made. Even so, how can you be sure it will be a trilogy? What if it's a two-part film? There are a lot of questions, and if the films are not in production and there is no certain "finality" to the film series (a better term, in my opinion), we should hold off on calling them trilogies. —Erik (talkcontrib) 14:13, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Let's focus on discussing trilogies... I am not sure if having the section heading "Happy Evil Dude VS Darrenhusted" is assuming good faith. First of all, regarding Nolan's Batman films, of course the franchise has a good future. But why are we writing in a potential trilogy? We could argue that there are two or three more films in store under Nolan based on its success so far. It seems arbitrary to determine the cutoff to be a "trilogy"... the best way to group three films as a trilogy is if that has been the intent all along or if it is perceived as such retrospectively. We can't look into the crystal ball and extract something that resembles a trilogy based on released films and one that's merely being developed. Hollywood has many films based on major franchises that still wallow in development hell, like Jurassic Park IV or Spider-Man 4. If we are sure that more films are forthcoming, let them actually go into production before claiming that it is a new addition to the film series or that it bookends a film trilogy. Wikipedia needs to report information as published elsewhere; we can't be the trailblazer in such topics. —Erik (talkcontrib) 15:16, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Can I ask you to read WP:AGF? This is a disagreement over content, and I do not think it is fair to assume that Darren is out to get you. Can it not be said that you are making it your mission to add such entries based on your own criteria? That is why we need to focus on the validity of the content. I was using the Batman films as the driving example in our dialogue, but if you want to use another example, we can. In the meantime, I am a little confused about how the Batman films are being treated. First, the trilogy was identified as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and the purported follow-up. Now it's Batman Begins, Batman: Gotham Knight, and The Dark Knight? Having worked on the film article for The Dark Knight, I can attest that it is universally acknowledged that The Dark Knight is the sequel to Batman Begins. Other editors have discussed the sequence and have filled the film infoboxes' "followed by" and "preceded by" fields accordingly. The same sequel reasoning of not counting these minor fillers applies to the Riddick films. You are partially right when you say that three films make a trilogy, but it has to be specifically recognized as such with narrative and production consistency. And please don't get frustrated by Wikipedia in general. There are a lot of viewpoints being exchanged, like here for example, and there is bound to be conflict. I've gotten frustrated myself with some conflicts, which is why I try to diversify my activities... if one activity is bringing me too much grief, I can fall back on other activities. If we need to, we can discuss the criteria for film trilogies further at WT:FILM. —Erik (talkcontrib) 13:59, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:AI Poster.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If the film has not begun filming then there is no point adding it to a page which exists as a method of navigating between pages. You are identifying American Pie 7 as a 2009 film, when is has not begun filming. Because you seem to be slow here it is for you one more time, do not add films until they have started filming. Once they have a confirmed filming date, and then have an article page to link to, then feel free to add it. Paul Walker is quoted as saying that F&F5 will happen, but until it films there are only four F&F films, so it would be a tetralogy, I have no problem with that, but if editors started adding F&F5 to the pentalogies page then I would remove it. The reason is the simple, Wikipedia policy. Read WP:NFF and then have some patience. Darrenhusted (talk) 23:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of List of film series with two entries

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of film series with two entries. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of film series with two entries (3rd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:03, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Band Baaja Baaraat promo 1.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Edit warring, BLP requirements

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mandy Moore. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Adding unsourced claims of personal relationships to BLPs is simply unacceptable. Not only did you do this several times yesterday -- "justifying" your inappropriate behavior with an exceptional uncivil, policy-defying edit summary. Fouling up an article which editors have taken pains to clear of gossip and tabloidery, and edit warring to add back such content is unacceptable. You were warned about this by other users at the Amber Heard article, so you have simply moved on to malform other articles. This should stop now. License tagging for File:Lætitia Milot.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lætitia Milot.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Lætitia Milot.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lætitia Milot.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 20:40, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

It is a picture of a fictional character. As such, there can be no free equivalent. Happy Evil Dude (talk) 23:12, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
It is being used as a picture of the person not the character; it is therefore replaceable LGA talkedits 23:16, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • I've removed the warning tag and response from the image. The image is now being used solely on the Plus belle la vie. The image can not be used anywhere else. It is likely not suitable for even this article, as mere depiction of a character is insufficient warrant for use of the image. Else, you could include images of every character, one by one by one. We do not allow that. A cast photo would be far more pertinent and allowable. For an example of what I am saying, see Cheers#Original_main_characters. --Hammersoft (talk) 00:16, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Heartless (2014 film)‎ shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Thomas.W talk 21:10, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. DYK for Watch Dogs 2

edit

On 19 June 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Watch Dogs 2, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ubisoft Montreal intended to take risks when creating Watch Dogs 2? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Watch Dogs 2. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Watch Dogs 2), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Edit warring to restore a BLP-violation

edit

There is a clear explanation on the Odette Annable talk page as to why the addition of unsourced and poorly sourced dates of birth have been removed from the article. If you continue to edit war to restore the material contrary to our bright line policy regarding its inclusion, you will likely find yourself blocked from editing. You need to continue the discussion on the article talk page and get consensus as to why our policies and guidelines do not apply in this specific case in order for the material to be included when the requirements of "widely published by reliable sources" required by policy has not been met.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:24, 15 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Not a single link that you provided in your last pointy edit to the article meets our reliable sourcing criteria. As you don't seem familiar with what a reliable source is, in is imperative that you join the discussion on the talk page to vet your sources prior to using them.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:07, 15 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

February 2019

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Life-Size 2; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Amaury (talk | contribs) 15:19, 6 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

To follow up on this, once your move was reverted it is considered a controversial move and is supposed to go to a WP:Requested move if the original mover thinks the previous article title is "incorrect". Also, article titles are not governed by "WP:OFFICIALNAME" – IOW, The Empire Strikes Back is at that title, and not the onscreen title of Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (which is just a redirect). So just because there's an "onscreen title" does not mean it's the film's WP:COMMONNAME which is where article are supposed to be titled. Bottom line: If you feel strongly about this, you now need to initiate a WP:Requested move, and cite your evidence for why you think the article should be moved. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:55, 6 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

edit

Why did you remove it. Do you guys recognise all mcu movies to be 1 franchise. MCU is a series with many series ZuhayrRoha (talk) 20:25, 29 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi ZuhayrRoha, yes that's exactly the case, all the MCU films are listed in a single entry in the "over twenty entries" page here. As such, they shouldn't sub-series like Thor, Iron Man, etc, shouldn't be duplicately listed on other pages. Also, announced films like Thor: Love & Thunder or Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness should only be added once they actually start filming. I hope this clears things up for you! Spider-man sam raimi trilogy

edit

So where will sam raimi's trilogy go Movies with 3 entries or with all other spidey movie 8 movies now Then homecoming and ffh is being repeated twice ZuhayrRoha (talk) 11:00, 30 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Homecoming and FFH are part of the MCU so they are with the other MCU films here. The Sam Raimi films and Amazing Spider-Man films are two separate series, so the ASM ones are in the "two entries" page here and the Raimi ones in the "three entries" page here. It's similar to the Batman films for example: The Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher ones are part of the same series so they're in the four entries page, the Christopher Nolan trilogy is its own separate thing in the three entries page and the films with Ben Affleck are part of the DC Extended Universe and are listed with the other DCEU films like Man of Steel, Aquaman & Wonder Woman in the nine entries page. Where can I watch Le Mystère Parasuram and Son épouse. Can you suggest some French songs. DareshMohan (talk) 06:12, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Daresh, I was surprised to see you ask this question on my talk page (what prompted it?) but looked into it anyway. I don't have very good news I'm afraid:
1. For Le Mystère Parasuram, I'd never heard of it, but it looks like it was broadcast on French TV 10 times between August 2000 and April 2009. It has not been broadcast since, has never been released on DVD and doesn't appear to be streaming anywhere. Maybe contacting the production company through their e-mail demd@demd-productions.com can help?
2. For Son Épouse, it is available on DVD in France for as little as 4 euros as well as digital copies through Google Play or YouTube for 7 euros (but I don't know if those would work outside France). Much of the film's dialogue is in French however (there is also Tamil and English dialogue) and neither the DVD nor the digital copy have English subtitles. There do not seem to be English subtitles available for any copy you may find. The film was also released on DVD in the Netherlands where it comes with Dutch subtitles and it appears it can also be found in Russia with Russian subtitles.
3. As for French songs, this is a very vast topic and I don't know what kind of songs you like? Classic hits from the 1940s, 50s, 60s? Vintage bops from the 1970s, 80s, 90s? Modern beats from the 2000s onwards? Pop music? Rock? Hip-Hop/Rap? R&B? And so on... Happy Evil Dude (talk) 09:13, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Omg, thanks for the response. I listen to mostly Indian songs but I would like to listen to recent songs like post 2000s like Dernière danse. I don't know what genre I like but I like Ed Sheeran, Steal the Show from Elemental and Enamorate. DareshMohan (talk) 04:13, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Riight... Who are you trying to convince here? ภץאคгöร 22:25, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Scriptoclap is an industry website. The method of calculation of French box-office I presented is the method all box-office analysts in France use to determine a movie's domestic gross. The number of tickets sold and the price of a movie ticket are not original research. They're facts. Unifrance is the authorative, industry source for all international numbers. I kinda know a lot more about this than you do... Happy Evil Dude (talk) 23:42, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Almost Legal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".
