Battles of Lexington and Concord
editGreetings, Fsh. You wrote, "I choose the United States senate's interpretation". If only it were that simple (though of course we know the Senate is never wrong). It is not for you to choose, per the wiki rules regarding neutral point of view. You have introduced a highly controversial interpretation, which is now incorporated into the article thanks to your efforts. Let that suffice. As it is a minority view, it cannot dominate the article and certainly must not reverse the sense of the article's introduction. You are welcome to take the issue up on the article's Talk page if you wish. Please see WP:UNDUE for further perspective. Hertz1888 08:14, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Julian Castro
editIf you have a photo of Castro, you probably should upload it. I have not found any free images of him and it would be a big help to the encyclopedia if you did.--Richard Alpert (talk) 04:18, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:14, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Next election
editI don't think there's any reason to think the Conservatives and LDs will be going into the next election as a unified force, is there? Evercat (talk) 22:36, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'd like to second this. Having just noticed that you're American, perhaps you aren't aware that the Deputy Prime Minister is nothing like the Vice President at all (it's in fact a post that has no legal role at all, it exists only at times when the Prime Minister wants it to, and then the PM will decide exactly what its role is). It doesn't mean they've merged their parties or anything like that. This 'Coalition' is one of convenience, and just like all coalitions before it (the national governments of the 1930s, the wartime one and so on) the elections will be fought by each party separately, with perhaps another coalition arranged afterwards. But yes, this idea that Clegg 'should be listed under Cameron' at the next election just because he's entered into a coalition is somewhat absurd. Or was there some other reason for this? You seemed quite insistent on the talkpage that we should change it. Tom Black (talk) 12:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry for taking a while to reply, but I'd like to thank you for your reply and clarify that I am indeed aware of the VP's almost total lack of power in the US. Nevertheless, the VP is still a legal post that exists and is defined by the constitution, is it not? In that sense the DPM is nothing like it, as the DPM exists whenever the PM wants it to and for whatever reason the PM wants it to. There's no official or unofficial precedent that dictates DPMs will follow PMs into Downing Street and so on. The VP also has certain responsibilities at least on paper, does he not? I seem to recall reading something about leading congress in certain situations or something - regardless of what those responsibilities are, the DPM doesn't have ANY like that at all. Officially, that is. Unofficially, it looks like Clegg's role as DPM is basically being a minority whip for the Lib Dems in the coalition who gets a nice job title to make up for the indignity of the role. Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:34, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Obama reciepts
editHi, Sorry about leaving it like that-not sure how I missed it! It appears that the problem lies not with my refs but with http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Template:Infobox_U.S._federal_election_campaign. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it though have temporarirly removed the reference and flagged the issue. Cheers. maniacgeorge (talk) 13:05, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
